A revenge story

A fog rolled above the ocean surface in silence. That silence was only broken by the plaps of rowing paddles of a wooden boat. In that boat was a goopy wolf man wearing a tattered lab coat. With the paddles being used by two bio-robots sitting behind him.

Then the boat collided with the wet sand of a beach. The trio has reach land, their natural and unnatural body patters gently glowing in the the irritating foggy weather as they stepped into the water and pulled the boat on land.

"What now doctor Singe?" Asked one of the two robots. It's body was partialy covered in metal plates and partialy in synthetic fur, with a curved screen forming It's face with simple cyan face being displayed on it.

The goopy bioluminescent wolf man hed it's ears lowered and witha sigh he replied "we will look for shelter to stay the night... we will see what to do then and you should just call me Singe now..."

The robotic guard with cyan glow nodded. Follow behind Singe. While the send bio-robot with red glowing patterns quietly walked in front of Singe since it hed a firearm.

The three walked through the fog with Singe making wet squishy steps while the the bio-robots were making mechanical noises as their artifficial muscles were pressing against metal components with each step as they arrived in front of a coastal settlement made of mostly stone.

Feeling hungry and exhusted. Singe decided to take his chances, by walking up to the front door and knocking with goopy hand-paws on the heavy door.

After a tense wait, the door slowly opened and a pegasus pony was waiting on the other side of the door.

"Hello! Who are you three here aligned with and why are you visiting us?" Asked the pegasus with suspicion.

"We are independent, since we got... abandoned by our company and now i am traveling without food and looking for shelter." Answered Singe, fidgeting with his fingers.

"If what you are saying is true then that would me the two of our kind. Since our group also got abandoned, though i don't think it was done in a malicious way... Anyway come on in." The pegasus responded, while making vague guestures with his wings.

The pegasus pony brought them into a wooden recreational room with a televion, poker table and a pool table. "Sit down please, what is the name of you and these two toasters?" The pegasus asked as they sat down at the home made wooden poker table.

"I am Singe and these two robotic companions of mine are called Default and Dark. With the cyan glowing one being Default and the red glowing one being Dark. Please don't call them toasters, they are my friends... or at least they are programmed to." Answered Singe, still visibly distressed and exhusted.

"I am called Normal Potato and i am with the rest of the pegasi in this humble archipelego settlement. These islands are in geothermaly active area. So we were able to set up reliable electrification for our mostly well build lights and cooking equipment. Ensuring our survival."

Singe's wolf ears perked up. Maintaining eye contact with the pegasus in front of him. "Alright thats good to hear but why are a horse with wings?" Questioned Singe.

"Oh yeah, that. Well our group came from other planets called Acrab and Fequm. There was a job shortage. So we took the opportunity to get a job instead...As you can imagine, interplanetary travel is expensive. They send a group of us pegasi and a bigger group of earth ponies elsewhere; With needed supplies before departing for a long time. I don't know what happened to the earth pony group since they hed a different agricultural research mission on this planet and they haven't been responding to our radio signals... How come you arrive to our settlement? These kind of bio-robots aren't given to just anyone." Answered Normal Potato.

"I figured that question was coming" Singe winced as he brought himself back to alertness having fallen half asleep. "Basicaly there was this whole mess in Lixeiro kingdom where a gootraxian outbreak happened. Causing almost everyone except the nobility and military personal to be either killed or transformed into gootraxians. I ended up getting transformed but for a reason unknown to me i-I ended up not being in the same conflicted state as the other transformed or even worse. Mentaly degenerating into an agressive animal.

I was in a Lixeiro noble organization called Rose Labs. I was captured some time after i got mauled and transformed. My memory is hazy there but they hed researchers experiment on me until i somehow hed control over my own body restored. No longer having to fight new found animal instincts. I was made a researcher to perform more experiments on conflicted gootraxian in the field. Like some kind of messed up animal wrangler. Tsk.

I was under the false assumption that my position as new researcher allowed me to make friends in high places. Especially since i was granted my robotic companions for my mission. Which they stressed were no longer replacable... Then came the noble order to systemticaly exterminate all gootraxians, regardless of mental state. To reclaim de jure territory of Lixeiro before foreign kings and federals got that idea.

They send three people... yeah i remember it being three people. One of which i wrongly considered my friend in the rather short time in Rose Labs. I made a stand in an awful field lab where i was alone with just my robotic friends. They saved my life, having potentialy broken part of their programing to save my life their... From that point i made a run for it and arrived here." Singed explained while panting, cleary traumatized by the experience.

"Oh, thats quite the story. You look very tired, we rencently build tiny bedrooms for guests, though like all bedrooms here, they aren't much. Let me take you there!" Normal Potato offered with a flap of wings as Singe only nodded in silence. Having arrived there. Default asked what they should do while Since was sleeping in a 3 meter³ bedroom. To which he just said "Stay put in front of the door you two, so that i am not disturbed" And with that the bedroom door closed.

Waking up, Singe opened the door of the tiny tiny bedroom that was provided. With his robotic companions still standing at the door as instructed. It would be a good rest for Singe, if his body wasn't properly starving now. Looking around weakly. He saw Normal Potato throtting past. Singe's gooey fur looked a bit messy, which was impressive given that his whole outer body was nothing but living goo. Not actual hair.

Singe walked outside to greet Normal Potato. Stumbling a bit as he did so, his voice rougher then it normaly was. "Hello, do you have any meat? I am starving."

"Oh, we do have some in the freezer. We hed a rhino problem not long ago. Go to the freezer to ask our cook prepare something for you. If they aren't there, they are probably watching the tube televion in recreational room." Normal Potato answered. With a wave of his right wing, while carrying farming gear.

Singe wasn't in the mood for a long conversation right now. So went to the freezer room. Finding and entering the walk in freezer, it was quite the temperature shock. With his body shivering immediately in the -1°c room temperature. The food in the freezer was disorganized, instead of talking to the cook. He just grabbed slabs of cut rhino meat and a bottle of salt.

The cooking stove was in the actual freezer room for some reason. Singe didn't question it and quickly cooked some salted meat for himself before grabbing a ceramic plate from a cuboard and quickly eating in an adjesoned dining room. Quickly and messily eating the salted meat with bunch of his saliva dripping on wooden floor beneath him.

Leaving his plate on the table. He went back to check back on robotic companions. Who were still standing by his bedroom but they weren't glowing like normal. With their face screens being blank black. He gave them a tug, which did not result in any reaction. "Hmm, i didn't about them needing electricity to work. I would need to find a way to recharge them. Also what is the commotion i am hearing" Singe said to himself. Remembering that he only spoke to one person here.

The commotion soon gave way to gunshots. Still traumatized by his own manhunt. Singe decided to hide in his bedroom until things went quiet again. Then he braced himself as he walked outside again. Finding Normal Potato with the rest of the pegasi group dressed in armor. "What happened out there?" Asked Singe a little panicked.

"The Anti revisionists showed up. We were tasked with sabotaging the five kingdoms here, along with the federals. We found a big group of rebels that inicialy wanted to help us. But then we hed a small dissagreement. And they declared us revisionist. Whatever that is suppose to mean. So they were sending small groups to attack us." Answered one of the pegasi, their voice muffled by their helmet.

"Oh, i don't know if i want to be involved in this whole sabotaging buissness... Then again i don't have a home anymore... or much of a purpose i suppose." Singe said, recollecting memories for the current rough month.

"I, we don't want to pressure you but you would be better off sticking with us. With your home kingdom of Lixeiro being almost fully destroyed by the gootraxian outbreak and with us performing many successful sabotages against agressive Sylvarant kingdom..." said another armored pegasus.

"The gootraxian outbreak is the reason things turned out like this for me... how did that happen anyways? Stuff like this was thought to be impossible a month ago or was it longer then that..." Singe said, deep in though. Abset mindedly fidgeting with his tattered lab coat.

Normal Potato, who's helmet did not cover his face, spoke up. "I wasn't given much information by the higher ups who gave us the opportunity to go on this mission... but if were to guess. The bigger earth pony group woul be the one responsible for the gootraxian outbreak. Because back home. There used to be a company who's job was to transform immigrants into gootraxians. They usualy hed earth ponies working for them. To cultivate the two main Ingredients needed to make the gootraxian transformations happen. Fresh latex and chaobulb."

Singe was wiggling his ears with a blink as he processed the information. "So your superiors are responsible for what happened to me?" Asked Singe in disbelief.

"Possibly. It's yet to be confirmed." Responded Normal Potato.

"Oh. There is something i wanted to ask. My robotic companions ran out of electric charge. Could you build a charger device to recharge them for me please?" Asked Singe.

"I could figure out how to do that but it will take some trial and error since i don't have any guide for it or how your robotic companions work. However i am only willing to go through that effort if you join us proper for upcoming sabotage missions." Answered one of the pegasi.

"...I see. Given everything going on. It's not like i have much to lose at this point beside my robotic companions. So i promise to help you with your sabotage missions even if i don't understand the purpose of it. Though can we direct that effort to focus on Lixerio? I want to have my revenge against the noble Rose Labs for betraying my trust and ordering a manhunt on me!" Answered Singe with a sence of new found confidence.

The armored pegasi murmured among themselfs before agreeing. "You got yourself a deal. However, how come the Lixerio kingdom haven't collapsed yet, despite the hordes of gootraxians. If the gootraxian weren't able to defeat these holdouts. How would our small groups be able to strike against remnants of Lixeiro?"

Singe spoke up with a raised finger. "The capital of Lixeiro is being suspended in the air through unknown means and i would imagine they have at least one big military base in a mountain range where gootraxians would not be able to find it. Lixeiro kingdom has a notable amount of airships compared to other kingdoms. So we will need to commandeer at least one airship to get to the capital... Or make one ourselfs?"

"We will figure something out. In the meantime. Let us introduce to you Singe properly!"

A whole day has passed. With Singe being given a weapon and the hard task of keeping an eye out on the settlement solo. The recharging device for his robotic friends still wasn't build. Because the rest of the settlement was away. They got lucky and were able to intercept radio broadcast about a stolen troop transporter airship. Radiant federation, hated by all the other kingdoms has been stealing vehicles during a skirmish with Lixeiro kingdom. So the rest of the pegasi were taking their time find it.

Singe meanwhile was waiting. Lonely changing positions between embrasure look out spots in the settlement. He kept waiting until about midnight. When he decided to give up and go sleep. Not long after laying on a wooden bed. He heard a screeching crash from the beach. Rushing out after grabbing a weapon given to him. He saw armored injured pegasi scrambling to secure a Lixeiro airship in place.

The airship was partialy in water with it's front bottom being lodged into beach sand. It hed the brown and yellow colors that Singe remembered all Lixeiro airships having. Once the airship was secured in place. The pegasi went inside to patch their wounds. It was now that Singe found out that their group did not have a proper medic. Because the pegasi struggled with applying basic bandages. And while Singe did not have any medical experience outside of doing morbid experiments on conflicted gootraxian and those who werw long gone. He at least tried to help them tend to their injuries.

Everyone involved got much deserved rest after telling quickly Singe that they destroyed a federation island settlement that hed the airship moored.

Next morning it was a fogless cloudy day. With everyone getting back to their regular work schedule. Singe was tasked with checking the airship's condition while attemps were being made to construct a recharging station for Singe's robotic companions.

Climbing inside. He found himself in what seemed to be the engine room. He inspected the combustion thrusted with a clipboard in his hand-paws. Thoroughly inspecting the thrusters, he noted that they got damaged by by the rough landing. Crouching around rounded cube fuel canisters and pipes.

He found himself in the near middle. This is where the troops would be resting on chairs with seatbelts. There was bottom hanger style door. Which Singe found to be jammed by sand and clay.

In the center was glowing blue machine connected to the airship's balloon. Singe wasn't sure what it was exactly but it didn't seem damaged. Most likely it was providing lift.

The bridge at the front hed all the the airship controls. One of the levers has been twisted and two buttons seemed to have holes in it. Despite the front being lodged in sand, the structural integrity seemed alright. Singe double checked everything necessary before making his way out of airship.

Singe walked with clipboard of notes inside the outer walls of the settlement. Next to the crops and bedrooms. He saw the pegasus builder plugging one of his robots into a newly constructed charging port. With the robot's curved screen face displaying a red battery.

"Oh hi, how battered is the airship? It turns out that building a charging port for your two robots wasn't as difficult as i assumed at first... Oh i see, i suppose it could have been worse. I will get to fixing the airship right away! With the components we have that is." Said the lightly armored pegasus builder as Singe handed him the clipboard with list of things that need fixing.

With that out of the way his other notable task for the day was feeding some lambs. Which was rather straight forward. Grabinh some veggies from the freezer. He found the place with goats in it. Feeding them as they went "bah! Bah!"

On his way to the dining room. He was told that he should shear the lambs by grabbing shears from the storage room. Singe did so, though finding shears and a basket in the big disorganized storage room took longer then he would like.

Returning to the lambs he sheared them and collected their wool. Carrying said wool to storage room before taking a prepared meal and watching television with most of the other pegasi. Once the airship was repaired, they would be prepared to enact Singe's revenge against Rose Labs.

They didn't have much going for them outside of good armor. Since their only weapons in pristine conditions were a specialized flamethrower and a federation carbine that they picked up while taking the airship from Radiant federation. They also hed some IEDs and breeching tools.

It was an unusualy cloudy night as Singe with all the pegasi were onboard the airship approaching the floating capital of Lixeiro. Singe having spend short time there knew where Rose Labs is. So he was in the the front. Normal Potato was piloting the airship and Singe was directing their destination. Thankfuly it was a quiet night. So nobody tried to intercept them as one of their comrades moored the airship close to Rose Labs' building.

They were on the look out as they quickly disembarked with their military. Singe personaly having a carbine and a breeching axe with pick on one side and an axe blade on the other. When guard patrols were walking nearby, they would lay low behind a building until they knew they were safe to continue sneaking.

With Singe leading the team, as they were closing distance with Rose Labs building. Singe boldly grabbed the breaching axe from his back and with a charge, smashed into the front door with strong amount of force but the locked door did not allow entry just yet.

Singe swinged the breeching axe multiple time dismantling the door piece by piece. The pegasi behind looking worried that they might have attracted attention. Soon after many axe swings the door gave in as Singe switched to a carbine, securing the breeching axe on his back again.

A camera was looking over the door. Knowing that if the camera system was manned than then authorities were already alerted. "Run inside!" Ordered Singe, his lab coat patched up waving slightly loose, with bullet resistant vest worn under it.

They ran togather across sterile tiles of the facility. With the facility looking a lot more empty then when Singe was last here a long time from now. Then they came across a small group of high ranking researchers packing up scientific instruments. The researchers panicked when they realized there were armed trasspassers. A red haired bipedal researcher with a lab coat and glasses was first to speak.

"W-what do you want from us monsters?!" She yelled with a high feminine voice

Singe aimed carbine's barrel at her while the the pegasi guarded the building's entrance. "I am Singe, DOCTOR Singe! I worked here a for a short while before being moved to a field lab in a forest. Does that ring bell?"

The researchers were nervous. Then one of them answered. "Yes actualy i remember you. You were given a prototype medicine that restored your sapience. So you were made an honorary researcher. However the king didn't just want a medicine for the mind. He wanted us to find a way to reverse the gootraxian transformations alltogather and Rose Labs failed in that endevor. So by noble decree, our research organization was declared disbanded and our asses were conscripted!" The researcher then burst into tears.

Singe lowered the barrel of his carbine. Starting to piece togather the situation he found himself in. It wasn't a random boss in the organization who wanted him dead. The government wanted him dead. Because instead of continuing to find a way to untransform gootraxians. Lixeiro Government decided to go all in on exterminating gootraxians in their de jure territory. And going as far as to conscript their researchers.

"I have an idea. What if instead of fighting for the arrogant nobility. We work togather to topple it!" Singe said to the researchers.

"Are you crazy! We will get killed if we do that! There is no way i am joining a mon-" the protest of the once high ranking researcher was ended abruptly as Singe shot them in the head with the smoking barrel of his carbine.

"Either you are with me or against me. We can't have you run outside and alert everyone. So what will it be. Are you on the side of justice or the nobles who don't care about you?" Singe declared his ultimatum.

"What are we going to do after fighting the nobility?" Asked a surviving researcher.

"We will move to our new archipelego settlement to live as free people. Please join us. We can hate each other for it later." Singe said with a sigh. To which the two researchers in the room agreed. As the team was cautiously sneaking towards their moored airship. They could see from afar that the airship is no longer there with increased number of guards in the area.

Normal Potato whisper to the two researchers "What are your names lads?"

"Alba" "Monika" they whispered back.

"We can't retreat, so we will have to go through with our plot to defeat the nobility. Do you two know where the nobles with the king are?" Asked Singe. Remembering the times way before he was transformed by a gootraxian horde. The nobility of Lixeiro was screwing over honest people with unfair taxes and nepotism was before the gootraxian outbreak happened and the same nobles are now going to pay for it in blood.

"The nobles should be currently in the governmental discussion building, with the king probably participating in the discussion. Guarded by swordsmen. Due to ammo being scarce in Lixeiro kingdom nowdays." Responded Monika, still fearful.

"I see. Lead us there please!" Answered Singe with a hushed tone.

The team arrived at the building in question, narrowly dodging patrols in question. A stone rectangular structure with two entrances and colored windows. With four guards at each entrance.

"Hmm. Getting through the guards while also preventing the nobles from escaping and alerting everyone. This might be late to ask but. Does the king have a designated heir?" Said Singe.

"Not that i know of but one of the low ranking nobles will likely be put in charge by the military. Though if this stunt works the way you aliens expect. There won't be much of Lixeiro kingdom to rule. Pretty much the only people in Lixeiro kingdom that will be left alive are low ranking nobles, soldiers and scientists like us. Everyone else was taken by gootraxian outbreak or starved due to the nobility hoarding neccesities for survival to themselfs and their army." Explained Monika with Alba cowering behind her.

"I have an idea to assassinate leadership of Lixeiro kingdom. One of us will set the back door on fire with the one flamethrower we have before retreating as the guards chase them. Meanwhile the rest of us shoot the guards at the front door and breach it with your axe! I assume the nobles won't try to run through an actively burning door and will have to confront us." Offered Normal Potato to Singe.

"I think it is the best we can. Monika and Alba, before we execute the plan. Can you describe directions for our flamethrower guy to follow when retreating." Answered Singe. With everyone agreeing to the plan and after eveone got their speecific directions. The plan was executed as planned.

The front door was set on fire before retreat while rest of the team gunned down guards at the back door. Before Singe breeched the back door. For a brief moment Singe made an eye contact with the king, before the rest of team used up almost all their ammo to slay the nobility with it's king as floor and chairs were painted crimson from the amount of blood that was spilled.

Once the deed was done. They all ran towards an unoccupied moored airship. However they didn't account for how loud all their firearms are. Which resulted in them being chased by almost the entire army in the capital. They just narrowly escaped as their newly comandeered airship dropped dangerously low from the capital's airship port. Almost hitting the ground before regaining altitude. Flying to their archipelego settlement.

However the army of the kingdom's remnant were not going to let them flee in peace. Sending a troop transport airship after them to punish them. The pegasi saw their pursuers but could not do much while in the air.

Landing their comandeered airship somewhat smoothly, they quickly disembarked and went inside their home base. The robotic companions of Singe now fully charged and operational, were helping with defence. Dark was at the embrasures looking for targets while Default was guarding the entrance door.

Their pursuers from Lixeiro kingdom have managed to anchor their airship above shallow ocean water. Managing to make the airship float in place as they were swimming with vengeful fervour.

Singe was expecting the typical swordsmen that could be quickly slain with makeshift firearms. However the enemy didn't just bring swords, they also brought some kind of spherical explosives.

Singe's team started to shoot through embrasure holes when they got favourable angles. However there were more blind spots in their defensive positions then they thought. Allowing soldiers from Lixeiro to make a flanking manuver and blow up a big enough hole in the the outer walls.

Several Lixeiro soldiers layed dead outside. Shoot by makeshift firearms as they started to run through the now created hole in the wall. Default engaged them but was quickly overwhelmed and smashed into multiple pieces.

Dark followed soon after but at least he managed to land a few lethal and non-lethal shots before being smashed into pieces also.

Singe with his team huddled together at their original embrasure position. With both sides making their last stand. The Lixeiro soldiers began franticaly throwing their swords at horizontal angle as they charged towards Singe and Alba.

The ground was red with blood as the last Lixeiro soldier managed to kill Alba the researcher in their last moment. Their shocked expression turning into a smile as they thrust a sword into Alba's vital organs. Before they too joined their dead comrades.

The pegasi and Monika looked upon the small battlefield before them and over to dead Alba on the ground. While Singe went to crouch over Default's smashed torso, with artificial muscles that were connecting the robotic legs, being exposed.

"What now?" Asked Monika, looking over to Singe as her tail was shaking with the rest of her body.

"Lixeiro kingdom still probably has soldiers in remote areas, who are probably too busy dealing with gootraxians to yet realize that Lixeiro effectively ceaced to exist to the noble government being dead. So now we are fully independent i suppose." Singe said as was hugging a piece of Default.

"We aren't independent quite. Since we still have sabotaging orders from our superiors in Anocratic empire. But until they decide to personaly show up again. We can technicaly just take it easy in our settlement... We need to repair the wall anyways and also clean up this bloody mess." Said Normal Potato.

The team then decided to tend to their injuries and burry the corpses. With that out of the way, they started to repair their defences and clean up the blood. Wondering what the future hed prepared for them...
