Let's not let the good work of Manhassett get lost here. Thank you, Chief.

Manhassett wrote:SUPREME COURT | Docket Annotation

The Court, upon a Grant of Certiorari, is now hearing the matter of The Nations of Tarkin v. Okonjo of Kiwannis.

Having the Brief of the Nations from the Attorney General, the Court hereby ORDERS Kiwannis to respond in full within 7 days or a DEFAULT RULING may be entered.

SUPREME COURT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TARKIN
RE: THE NATIONS OF TARKIN v. ASANI OKONJO

COMPLAINT BRIEF ON BEHALF OF THE NATIONS OF TARKIN

I. INTRODUCTION

This matter comes before the Court upon a Writ of Certiorari granted to review grave charges brought against Former Leader of Kiwannis Asani Okonjo, individually, and whose actions, while serving as head of government, have precipitated widespread instability across the region of Tarkin during a time of unprecedented crisis. The Government submits that the Defendant’s conduct was not merely imprudent, but unlawful, reckless, and in direct violation of the foundational principles that govern relations among the Nations of Tarkin.

II. STATEMENT OF FACTS

In the aftermath of the Mount Valpraiso disaster, the region entered a period of acute vulnerability, marked by disrupted infrastructure, humanitarian crises, and fragile political conditions.

During this period:

1. The Defendant authorized the mining of the Strait of Tarka, a critical international maritime corridor essential to the transport of goods, humanitarian aid, and civilian passage;

2. The Defendant initiated and maintained actions amounting to a blockade of the ports of the Free Soil Republic of Tuskegee, severely restricting access to necessary supplies and economic lifelines;

3. These actions were undertaken despite clear knowledge of their impact on civilian populations, commercial stability, and regional security;

4. The Defendant’s conduct directly contributed to escalating tensions, invited foreign intervention, and materially increased the risk of widespread conflict.

III. ARGUMENT

A. The Defendant Violated the Principles of Regional Peace

The Nations of Tarkin are bound by longstanding principles prohibiting the unilateral disruption of international waterways and the imposition of coercive blockades absent lawful justification.

By mining the Strait of Tarka and obstructing passage, the Defendant contravened these principles, transforming a vital corridor into a zone of danger and instability.

B. The Defendant Recklessly Endangered Civilian Life and Commerce

The evidence demonstrates that the Defendant’s actions foreseeably endangered civilian vessels, disrupted humanitarian relief efforts, and exacerbated economic collapse in an already fragile environment.

Such conduct constitutes reckless endangerment on a regional scale, particularly given the ongoing humanitarian crisis following the Valpraiso eruption.

C. The Defendant Abdicated Sovereign Responsibility

As Premier, the Defendant bore a duty not only to his own nation but to the broader stability of the region. Instead, he pursued a course of action that (1) escalated military tensions, (2) invited retaliatory and interventionist responses, and (3) undermined the security of neighboring states. This troubling pattern reflects a failure to meet the obligations inherent in sovereign leadership.

IV. RELIEF REQUESTED

The Government respectfully requests that this Court:

First, find the Defendant liable on all counts set forth in the indictment; Second, affirm the authority of the Nations of Tarkin to regulate and protect international waterways and regional stability; Third, Issue such further orders as may be necessary to prevent future destabilizing conduct by the Defendant or similarly situated actors.

V. CONCLUSION

The Defendant's actions did not occur in isolation nut were undertaken at a moment when restraint was required most and delivered consequences that continue to reverberate across Tarkin. The rule of law must not yield to opportunism in times of crisis. Accordingly, the Government respectfully submits that judgment should be entered against the Defendant.

Respectfully submitted,
/s/ MalDorAeHan
Attorney General of Tarkin

Bobbouis is right. Bumping this so it stays on the first page awhile longer and doesn't require scrolling back to find it

This was definitely not my intent. Accidentally stumbled into Constitutional Law and probably for the best. Lol

Understanding the intent of the Constitution to protect the office of the Supreme Court and to protect the office from becoming too political. Further understanding that it would be easier to have Judicial Terms be in line with that of the President’s, as outlined through Tarkin law.

In an attempt to streamline the process and make Supreme Court positions more in line with those of the President and Senate, Section II of Article IV of the Tarkin Constitution shall be amended to read:

“Section II: The Supreme Court shall consist of a body of nations known as Justices appointed by the President and approved by the Senate with a 2/3 majority. who together shall have supreme legal authority in the Commonwealth, within the confines of the laws therein.

The Supreme Court shall consist of 3 members, who shall serve a term of 3 months, and be led by a Chief Justice elected among them. Supreme Court Terms shall remain in line with those of the President, as outlined by Tarkin law. No nation holding any other office — acting as an agent of the Government — shall be a Justice at the same time to which they are serving. The requirements to hold the office of Justice shall be at least 1-month minimum period of citizenship as defined by law.”

Short, sweet and to the point. If anyone supports this Amendment, let me know and I’ll add you to the list of supporters. We need at least 5 supporting Nations before I can submit the Amendment to President TuNasai for a Regional Poll/ vote.

And I will continue to push for a “Hall of Presidents” to be built within the Regional Capital in Tarkinnia! Great work Tummin!

Sorry for the crazy amount of messages today on the RMB. Between work and a crazy tour schedule that I’ve been dealing with for the last 2 weeks (I do promotion work on the side in real life), I feel like I got way behind on addressing a bunch of issues here within Tarkin. Now with a day off and a lot of coffee, I’ve been going in here today. lol

Anyways, here’s my way of catching up:

The LW Journal

LW- With so many global events taking place, it has been difficult to follow the actions of Senator L. Washington within Regional politics. With the many changes back home as well, the Senator was kind enough to sit down with us for a quick interview where he makes his stances known for the citizens that he represents.

Q: Where do you stand on the issues arising within Woplonga and the attacks on The Red Flame?

A: I am appalled by the attacks that have taken place against members of The Red Flame, whos only intent was to provide support to citizens within Tarkin that desperately needed it. I believe that the people who carried these attacks out should be held responsible and brought to justice. We must maintain peace within our Region and allow for those in need to receive the help that they need in times of uncertainty and instability.

Q: With the debate on waterways continuing within the Senate, do you think we’re any closer to a solution?

A: Although it may not seem as if much progress has been made on the legislative side, I do think that we have come closer to a solution. I think that by even having this debate and talking the issue out, we have made great strides toward a solution in the future. I know that this has been an eye opening experience for me and I’m glad that we have been able to do it in the eyes of the public.

Q: With Chief Justice Manhassett announcing the case of “The Nations of Tarkin v. Okonjo,” do you have any opinions on the matter?

A: I have full confidence that the Supreme Court will operate independently to follow both Tarkin Law and the Constitution. I will not take an official stance on the case itself, as I know the Courts will do what is best for the Region as a whole. What I will say is that this case again shows the importance of coming to a compromise and understanding on the laws of our waterways here within the Region.

Q: You have been a constant opponent of the ROME Act. Where do you stand on it now that it has been law for some time now?

A: It has been clear where I stand on the issue I believe. I am for a repeal through the Senate, but I would also love to see the case against this law brought before the Supreme Court for an Independent review. I do believe that ROME is in violation of previous laws passed within the Region and would love to see that brought before the Courts as quickly as possible, but I will leave that decision to Attorney General Democratic Monimeshia

While Senator L. Washington has taken more of a neutral stance on the issues in Woplonga, Governor Dolph Heidler has become very vocal in his opinions on the matter.

“The Glorious Leader was a strong and great leader and we are seeing the evidence of that today. Upon his passing, we have seen instability and a despicable attempt by the Regional Government to force their way into a Nation that they have never supported or understood. I stand with my Edenist brothers and sisters and pray for the stability of the Wopolongan people. Unlike that spineless Libertarian Senator of ours, I will stand with those who have pride in their people.”

While Senator L. Washington continues his work on the Regional level, it is clear that Governor Heidler still holds his distain for him and Libertarians in general. The fight between Edenist Conservatives and Libertarians continues in LW, as a fight for peace continues on the Regional stage.

Wow. Those are some names I've not seen in a long time.

Fun facts:
- TheRuhr is the longest and most often serving Tarkin leader, serving for a total of 1,033 days over five stints.
- Northwest south williamsland(NWSW), however, is the shortest, serving for less than one day.

NWSW also has the dishonor of being the only leader forcibly removed following the January 2020 coup by Tarkin Communists.

I would love to hear the full story. At one point I dove back and read some on this but it's sparse. I was not active in the region back then, likely here, but not active
