Official Statement from President Jesus Salgada
My fellow people of god,
In the coming weeks, the government of the Confederacy will be reviewing proposals to expand avenues for foreign investment. We are told this is necessary for growth, stability, and modernization. Indeed, investment can be a tool for prosperity when it serves the people first and foremost.
However, as we move forward, we must ensure that capital does not become the master of the nation it enters. Markets are instruments they are not sovereign. Balance sheets are important but they are not ballots. The Confederacy was founded as a union of citizens, not merely a consortium of interests.
Any new framework for foreign participation in our economy will be approached with careful scrutiny. Growth must strengthen our communities, protect our labor, and preserve the dignity of our institutions. Investment that uplifts our people will be welcomed. Investment that seeks only extraction will find a far more deliberate reception.
Our future must not be measured solely in quarterly returns, but in the enduring well-being of the Confederacy itself.
— President Jesus Salgada
