WELCOME TO THE TROUT ESSEMBLY

GENERAL TROUT KNOWLEDGE
The Trout Essembly is a loose coalition of nations generally dedicated to preserving the status quo and growing our economies. Founded by Aviary following the great Aviaryian-Weavenian war, Weaven and Aviary were long-standing powers up until their nations' respective dissolutions.

Why "Trout" was chosen is mostly up to interpretation, but it may have something to do with the fish's abundance in local waterways.

The Trout Essembly Regional Message Board

Rio Paraguay wrote:This Region has a funny name, it is the Trout Essembly. It was created by people who are now gone, and it was raided twice. We've worked to make it more difficult to raid, and hope we can create a roleplay setting.

Oh, this is a very interesting history.

Rio Paraguay wrote:I suggest we design a roleplay universe. I recently came up with an interesting idea for one: "What if borders were real in every sense?"

The idea is that one day, people start dying. Eventually, the world realizes there are invisible boundaries that kill human brains that pass through. These are not based on any borders that have ever existed, so there is a lot of chaos. A nation-state and it's greatest neighboring rival might both be split in half by the same boundary, where North Portugal is trapped with North Spain and South Portugal with South Spain. Drone technology advances to replace infantry. The new borders are easy to identify where they bisect once-unified cities, now littered with bodies, but things are more uncertain in unpopulated areas, at sea, and in the air.

This is what I was posted earlier. What do you think? Ineritia and I are really the only chatty ones but we're both busy, so it's slow going.

What do you think, Drafwolf?

As for the RP? I think a multiverse would be a great idea.

Think of it this way: having multiple possibilities encourages everyone's creativity without excluding anyone's specific tastes.

In other words, a world with futuristic technology could coexist with medieval lands, with a modern dystopia somewhere in between.

An RP for everyone.

If we did it this way, what would you personally roleplay as?

I prefer to be a kingdom with some magical traits and perhaps the occasional bit of time travel.

I came up with the Border idea before I came to the Trout Essembly, but before that I wondered about how time travel could work in a NS RP. I concluded it would require immense coordination (possible) or have to play little role in the RP (also possible) OR be a mess (very possible). What were you thinking of?

Little role in the RP.

If we wanted to mesh our ideas together, we could have the multiverse include an antagonist in the form of a state from the world where borders are real. If they can't truly expand in their world, maybe they can try in other worlds.

Good idea. In reality, this idea offer several advantages, even if they are sporadic events.
