writing some stuff right now. Basically the UN takes over in the 2100's after earth colonized basically most of the surrounding stars. Mars fights for independence and wins, and 20 years after that, one of the generals who led mars to independence takes over the Martian government and leads it to be a totalitarian state, and conquers all human systems, causing the UN to escape far into the scutum-centarus arm, into the regions that are assumed to exist, so basically on a map of the milky way it looks like its north, but you know the directions don't exist in space. Anyways that's all I've wrote
let me guess, the central government made a ship out of the Martian moon Deimos set course to another system, Tau Ceti. A person of a terrorist organization who advocated for Martian independence hijacked one of the ship's 3 AI's, leading to the ship being attacked by aliens called by the hijacked AI that went insane
