The Armed Republic of McAncapistan is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Clone of Ayn Rand with a fair hand, and remarkable for its ritual sacrifices, frequent executions, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 2.836 billion McAncapistanians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The minute, pro-business government, or what there is of one, is effectively ruled by the Department of Industry, although Administration and Defense are also considered important, while Welfare and Law & Order aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Mars. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 2.9%.

The frighteningly efficient McAncapistanian economy, worth 313 trillion bitcoins a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Gambling, Information Technology, and Soda Sales. Average income is an impressive 110,429 bitcoins, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 658,445 per year while the poor average 8,460, a ratio of 77.8 to 1.

In its new More is More campaign the government advertises obese men and women posing coquettishly with baked goods to spare their blushes, teachers label difficult children as "somebody else's problem" before expelling them, amusement park rides frequently collapse due to lack of maintenance, and it turns out that you actually can put a price on intangible cultural heritage. Crime, especially youth-related, is all-pervasive, probably because of the absence of a police force. McAncapistan's national animal is the snake, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is The NAP.

McAncapistan is ranked 274,061st in the world and 3,893rd in The East Pacific for Highest Poor Incomes, with 8,460.79 Standard Monetary Units.
