How do I improve my citizens' living status?

Or maybe your people (and robots and piping plovers) just have a big appetite!
I feel like that is a reasonable alternate banana domestication. Instead of being domesticated into being large, sweet, and seedless fruits, they were domesticated into small, very sweet, but very nutrient packed, seedless fruits. Especially since the piping plovers (really tiny)need to get their nutrients and fruits too. And small, soft, seedless fruit is also good for feeding babies, especially hatchlings, which could use it as their first non-regurgitated food they eat since it doesn't require much chewing. I do not know why robots are eating bananas, however.
I think the robots are eating the bananas because the humans and piping plovers are. They want to take part too!
