WHAT WE DO

The Alliance Regional Guard and Operational Service (ARGOS) is the military reserve federation of the Alliance, with contributing nations from all five member regions. It is headed centrally by the Defense Officer, in wartime, the Allied Military Command, and in peacetime or emergency, the Reserve Legionnaires.

Unlike traditional defending organizations, ARGOS serves only to defend our regions, our territories, and our interests. It is a mostly piler force, intended to enforce Alliance security and treaty obligations effectively, and to coordinate Alliance defensive maneuvers. Its deployment should be considered a very serious action. This includes individual regional obligations that may not impact the whole Alliance.

ARGOS is a gameplay organization, which means it is completely separate from roleplay. In other words, it is not affected by any nation's statistics, factbooks, or forum posts. Instead, military gameplay centers around regions, and is the closest thing to a war feature that NationStates offers players.
