The Summer dying Karrot of Karatana is a titanic, cultured nation, ruled by Kaiser Scansia with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space, aversion to nipples, and devotion to social welfare. The quiet, industrious population of 18.516 billion Karatanans are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Scansia. The average income tax rate is 69.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Karatanan economy, worth a remarkable 2,083 trillion Rubleses a year, is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Book Publishing. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 112,537 Rubleses, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Legend has it Kaiser Scansia's shower singing echoes through the halls of government, the thrash metal version of the national anthem is topping charts, Scansia Preparatory School for the Exceedingly Wealthy's basketball team is having a few off-years, and quiet professionalism has returned to the nation's armed forces. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Karatana's national animal is the Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is Scanism.

Karatana is ranked 40,412^th in the world and 2^nd in Montealba for Least Corrupt Governments, with 93.96 percentage of bribes refused.
