The Republic of Fwends is a colossal, safe nation, renowned for its burgeoning turtle population. The democratic population of 2.525 billion Fwendsians love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Welfare, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 25.5%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Fwendsian economy, worth 60.3 trillion dollars a year, is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Door-to-door Insurance Sales, Cheese Exports, and Soda Sales. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 23,885 dollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime is well under control, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Fwends's national animal is the turtle.

Fwends is ranked 123,123^rd in the world and 4^th in Utopia for Highest Drug Use, scoring 134.23 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
