The Armed Republic of Folkon is a massive, orderly nation, remarkable for its flagrant waste-dumping, unlimited-speed roads, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless population of 2.975 billion Folkonians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The relatively small, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government prioritizes Defense, although Law & Order, Industry, and Administration are also considered important, while Welfare and International Aid are ignored. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Production Zone. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 28.8%.

The powerhouse Folkonian economy, worth 368 trillion Pounds a year, is fairly diversified and dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Cheese Exports. Black market activity is rampant. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 123,825 Pounds, with the richest citizens earning 9.2 times as much as the poorest.

The army's use of chemical weapons leaves a bad taste in the mouth, Folkonian soldiers are assured their new ray-guns will finally power up after the next round of ominous chanting, the nation is loathed abroad for dumping all of its waste in international waters, and prison libraries are being replaced with interrogation chambers. Crime is a problem, possibly because it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many regulations. Folkon's national animal is the Dodo, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Folkon is ranked 249,939th in the world and 10,428th in Lazarus for Lowest Crime Rates, with 51.97 law-abiding acts per hour.
