To start a roleplay all you need to do is commence a news broadcast that is internationally relevant, it could by anything you want like a terror attack or a rebellion, it just needs to be big enough to gain attention

The Farstead spaceport has now been completed, Farstead has now got the capabilities to manufacture space vessels in space instead of on the ground. This reduces costs of the nations space program and the the air force is considering switching from planes to atmospheric - space aircraft. For more space news, a satellite has discovered a new planet, from pictures the satellite has shown, there are signs of life, and there have been pictures showing some sort of structures. This may be a tell-tale signs of sentient life, yet the Farstead Space and Research Department, or FSRD does not want to raise hopes too high. As of now, the department has dubbed the planet Eden.

As for other news, the parliament of Farstead have introduced the metric system to the county, and the education system is being overhauled to accommodate the metric system into the curriculum, as well with other improvements. The government have also started trade talks with other nations, they hope to build trust with human nations and they hope that the nation can come out of it's distrustful stance of outsiders. As for scientific news, there has been a scientific breakthrough in genetic research, the health department have been successfully able to treat Ankylosing spondylitis and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. This is an incredible breakthrough in medicine and in due time can be given out to hospitals around Farstead. In military news, the military research department has been able to develop a new exo-suit and new AI, they hope that they are able to impliment this into the nations military, but the trials still need to go on for a few months, but it shows promising results

Recently, the Sivinic People's Confederation, an alliance of nations in the Sivinic Archipelago, underwent a resolution to federalize the confederation and unite the member states of Sardinia, Peliera, and Corsica into one country. This newly-formed nation is named the Imperial Federacy of Sivinland and its economy operates under a unique system of socialism known as Socialism with Sivinic Characteristics. The government of Sivinland is anocratic in nature, with a bicameral parliament representing the states in a chamber and the citizenry in a duma. The government is headed by an unelected president. Additionally, the monarchy of Sardinia has now become the monarchy of Sivinland, with supreme authority that is above even the newly written constitution. The Sivinic Government has also collectivized and continued many of the policies and programs of its member states, such as their WMDs and space programs. In the near future, Sivinland plans to bring down any internal borders and form a new, unified archipelago.

Generally, the public has taken well to these new developments, albeit some do oppose the illiberal democracy and socialist economy. Opposition to the formation of Sivinland is particularly acute in southern Corsica, where small militia groups have come together threatening to take back the independence of Corsica with "fire and brimstone". Security forces in Corsica have increased as a result and the sale of firearms has been illegalised. Other than that, Sivinland as formed without complication.

More info on the islands themselves, they are just North of the equator and contain lots of natural resources, including oil, gold and diamonds. There is also an island with extreme industrial power.
