I think PERSONAL sanctions are needed on my government for helping Putin's Russia circumvent sanctions. Supplying drones, sub-sanctioned goods, microchips for missiles, gunpowder and military hardware. Unfortunately, no one listens to our opposition (although even Ukrainian intelligence and Western publications were talking about it), and that is why Russia's economy has not only survived the sanctions, but has risen. In fact, the sanctions didn't work. At this rate, the war could go on for 10 years.

The Niagara wrote:But this means that people have unequal voting rights. So you create the same problem as in the US. The Democrats pretty much always have the most votes, yet that doesn't mean the Democrat becomes president.

Vantier wrote:A bit too discriminatory and unequal for my taste. More populous countries are underrepresented. Could it work? Yes. Is it too tedious? Perhaps. I prefer the two-round system. In the first round, you have all the candidates you want + (my own creation) Legislative election. This way, you'll have a European-style Parliament. In the second round, the two parties with the most votes fight, and the winner wins the Executive. Then, to appoint the Supreme Court (Judiciary), you give the government of each province, regardless of population, the ability to appoint a single judge, and the total number of SC judges has to be uneven, so if the number of provinces are even, the most populous one gets to appoint another one to make the balance uneven.

Still, I'd like to see how your elections work in the system you propose. It will be unique and cool, certainly.

I feel both of your concerns, and I have thought about what you present me with, Vantier, but I like difficult things (hihi). And the appointment of the Judiciary works in some regards that way, however that’s not what this proposal tackles.

And yes it is unequal by design, to prevent the possibility of all the Polish to vote a Pole straight towards the last ticket. Thanks to this exclusion of the own language group a Russian-speaker can tackle issues that are more important to the Danish.

If the Union becomes more homogeneous this whole 1st round exclusion may be deleted, however it isn’t currently.

And in the second and third round it will be proportionally, not through the vote-points. Every vote will be counted as equal in those stages.

True, but you know what would be completely helpful? For Boris Yeltsin not to appoint Putin as Premier in 1999 (or some years earlier, don’t know the exact date).

I think the Great Dinosaur War should have been won by herbivores. Unfortunately, they lost, causing them to have to send a comet to Earth (sort of like an ancient nuclear bomb) to save the Earth. Unfortunately, only part of the dinosaurs died. And because of that, events are happening now. Putler just want to restore Tyrannosaurus Empire.

Please don't think that I'm crazy, I'm not serious.

You should have studied history in high school. I have, and that's why I'm winning today.
