If you're ever shooting at another living being you should always be shooting to kill. Don't point a loaded gun at anyone you aren't willing to kill.

There are exceptions to this. Sometimes a target is neutralised by shooting less lethal points like hands or legs, but this could end up the target being eliminated if artery is hit and no help arrives on time. But this is mostly for the police and some other professional units etc who get this kinda training, at least in Europe.

Farewell, Forest.
It was fun while it lasted, and now the embassies are closing.
Hope everything goes well for you all.

Not entirely true. I'll still be hanging around your RMB to maintain stuff there; it'll just be on a puppet account.

*sniff* I'm really gonna miss you, Prusmia 😥

Well, I will just create my Forest nation to go to the region of Forest and I will be talking to Forest residents. This is my last time chatting with Foresters.

Siornor and Jutsa

I will miss all you guys

I just created my Forest version of me and I joined the region to communicate to you all in the times when Forest is closing the North Pacific embassy.

I think Window Land's point was that if you are holding a firearm, you have an ethical and moral obligation to understand that you hold life and death in your hands. You must understand that you have the power to kill in your hands whether it be intentional or not. As a result you should NEVER point a firearm at anything you are not willing to gravely injure or kill. Basically, be a responsible gun owner.

Far away enough

There is never any situation in life where you are morally justified for killing or injuring another person. To say you should never point a firearm at anything you aren't willing to kill fundamentally misunderstands the point of responsible gun ownership. You should just never point a firearm at a human being. That's what being a responsible gun owner means.

Here in Australia, if you get a firearms licence, you have to participate in a minimum number of competition shoots every year (unless you're a farmer with a certain size block of land, because then you may need it for the purpose of culling wildlife and so on). There's very few other reasons that you can give for owning a firearm, and none of them are "self-defence", because that's not legally justifiable. And it shouldn't be, because in any civilised society, killing in any context, let alone self-defence, isn't morally justifiable.

Yeap, that's a basic rule with guns and a good one. I was thinking the context must be that but also that it's not always about killing the target, even when it's always basically a possibility.

^This is the whole point of my explanation.

On self defense: The morality of self-defense is very "wishy washy". Everyone is going to have a different take on that. In my opinion self defense should not be vengeful but used as a last resort if one's life is in imminent danger. I would also add that if you instigate a dispute you lose claim to self defense.
