Hello everybody! I have just moved to your region after a long stagnation. I hope for a friendly relationship and a pleasant RP. Let me tell you a little about my country before I make a factbook.

My country Werfareichis a unitary parliamentary state (de jure a monarchy, but de facto a republic), in which power is, in fact, controlled by a military junta headed by General Algis Kiedis and with Chancellor-Regent Duchess of Kapėnai Paulina Rupsaite.

History

The coup happened when the last king of Werfareich died in the middle of the last century, leaving no direct heir. A committee was urgently assembled, whose task was to determine the future monarch. However, they dragged out the decision, which caused discontent among the citizens. By this time, pro-democratic and pro-communist forces in the country began to gain popularity. Clashes between revolutionary and monarchist armed formations took place with increasing frequency.

In the end, everything turned into an armed uprising of the left and attempts to storm parliament. General Mikas Gudzevicius, popular in the army with his ideas and patriotism, reacted to this. The day after the leftist revolutionaries seized part of Antanava, he himself seized power in the city, defeated the forces of the left and dissolved the parliament and committee. Later, he entered into an alliance with the nobles, and with them created the National Unity Party, which won the parliamentary elections, and he becoming the first elected Chancellor-Regent.

Economy

Werfаreich is a secularized state, in which feudal foundations, expressed in the presence of the nobility, their estates and "fortress" ones, whose life and some rights are guaranteed by the state, have been preserved to this day. The economy of the state is built around a large number of natural resources, from which oil, gas, many metals and precious stones are extracted and processed. Also, a significant contribution to the economy is made by the production of the latest weapons, information technology, Automobile Manufacturing and tourism.

Torres Administration unveils new economic plan, privatizing several state-owned companies, reducing unemployment, and planning trade deals

| One of Spanish Prime Minister Augustina Torres' campaign promises was to drastically reduce unemployment and introduce a new economic plan to raise Spain's annual GDP growth from its lowly 2% growth a year. Following the $11.2 billion USD arms acquisition deal with France, the pressure was on the Torres Administration and the Ministry of Finance to release an economic plan to deliver on the Prime Minister's campaign promises. For seven days, the Cortes Generales and the Prime Minister, supplemented by the Ministry of Finance, discussed and debated and edited a novel economic plan. |

| On June 8, 2021, Prime Minister Augustina Torres appeared before the public at a televised press conference from the Finance Ministry offices in Madrid. She unveiled the Madrid Economic Directive (MED), which aspires to privatize several state-owned companies, drastically reduce unemployment rates, and lays out a general foreign trade deal plan. |

| The first phase of the Madrid Economic Directive is the privatization and selloff of several state-owned companies. This is to be done over the course of three years in order to spur competition and bolster the private sector. The Spanish government plans to auction companies such as Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias, Renfe Operadora, Parador, EFE, EITB, Euskotren Transbia, Euskotren Trena, and Correos off to the private sector. These companies mostly oversee hotel, news, public transportation and infrastructure sectors, meaning such a selloff would encourage development in those sectors. Prime Minister Torres stated, 'this selloff, which will begin as soon as later this month, will benefit multiple industries including tourism, press, transportation and infrastructure thanks to the competition that will be created between these companies and their private counterparts. The Spanish government should not be pushing aside companies, it should be working with and competing with companies'. The Prime Minister also stated at the end of her press conference that the selloff of state-owned companies was an idea inspired by Brazilian President Bolsonaro's economic plan in which he did the same thing. 'He really is the Brazilian strongman, in my opinion' she commented to other government officials as she left the press venue. |

| The Madrid Economic Directive also hopes to tackle Spain's rapidly growing unemployment rate, which has been plaguing the economy since the Francoist era in the 1970s. With a 13.96% unemployment rate, the second highest in the European Union, it was clear that something needed to be done, especially when unemployment exploded during the 2020 pandemic, and trickled down a bit in the aftermath. Steps have already been taken to reduce unemployment, with the military's incentives to join the armed forces being introduced to the public for the first time. In an effort to increase manpower and reserves, the armed forces introduced incentives such as free healthcare, free child education, and larger wages to the armed forces. An estimated 42,000 civilians enlisted for the military within two weeks of the incentive announcement, proving the effectiveness of the program. The Ministry of Finance also unveiled a geographical subsidy program to encourage companies to invest into poorer, and generally more rural areas where work is almost unobtainable. The Ministry of Education will also receive subsidies to provide education and training to reduce and possibly solve occupational immobility. |

| In the final phase of the Madrid Economic Directive, at least in its current form, is the establishing of groundwork for trade deals to be signed with foreign nations in the future. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, and the Ministry of Finance brainstormed ideas for a week before a final basic plan was released through Phase Three of the Madrid Economic Directive. The basic groundwork, named the Foreign Trade Groundwork Establishment Plan (FTGEP), states that trade deals with valuable trading partners such as France, Germany, Italy, the UK, the US, Canada, Brazil, and other countries should be established in order to increase trade between both nations. The FTGEP proposes the lowering of tariffs of goods between both parties involved in the trade deal, making it easier for Spain to export and import with the involved party. The Spanish government believes this approach will be highly beneficial to both countries, and will increase interdependency between nations, which will in turn reduce global tensions. |

$6.1 Billion In New Arms Acquisitions

Today the Ministry of Defense has unveiled another acquisition package for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Totalling 6.1 Billion Dollars, the package includes new equipment for all three branches bought from Paramerica and the Imperial Federation.

From Paramerica, the Army has acquired 40 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS.) The HIMARS is a modern MLRS system with an effective range of 480 kilometers. The new systems will be divided into two newly founded Rocket Artillery Brigades, the 7th and 44th. The Army will also be taking command of 30 new MIM-104 Patriot Surface-to-Air Missile systems, further enhancing the Arab States' air defense capacity. The Patriot can counter everything from UAVs, to Fighters, to ballistic missiles.

For the Air Force, 50 new F-16V Block 70/72 multirole fighters have been acquired. The F-16V is the most modern upgrade of the F-16, unveiled only in 2015. The V includes the AN/APG-83 active electronically scanned array with a range of 370 kilometers. This brings the ANAF to 330 active combat aircraft.

The largest acquisitions come from the Navy. Also from Paramerica, 6 Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigates have been acquired. The Perry is 136 meters long, with a displacement of 4,100 tons and a top speed of over 30 knots. The Perry is a ship of legendary durability. 4 of the ships will be assigned to Tartus Fleet Base and the other 2 will be assigned to Aqaba Fleet Base. Additionally, 3 FREMM multipurpose frigates have been acquired from Italy. The FREMM is larger and more heavily armed than the Perry, enough that some sources classify it as a destroyer rather than a frigate. All three FREMM frigates will be deployed to Tartus Fleet Base. The nine ships form a capable blue water core for the Navy, signaling a shift from coastal defense and escort operations to true offensive capability.
