Su-30MKI Upgrades

Since the Su-30MKI entered service in 2002, it has received only minor upgrades and need a major upgrade program to bring its current standards up to more advanced levels.
Airframe will receive changes, airframe composites material are more used to reduce weight and RCS, more new and advanced quality material from Indian companies will be used to make the airframe to enchance its life. The current nose cone will be replaced by the nose cone used on Tejas Mark 1A which has a reduced RCS.
N011M BARS Phased Electronically Scanned Array will be replaced by Uttam Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar which will be modified from his original version to be more powerful due to more space been available at the nose.
OLS-30 laser-optical Infra-Red Search and Track System will be replaced by the HAL and BEL produced Long-range dual band infra-red search and tracking system.
Sura-K Helmet Mounted Display and Sight will be replaced by TopSight-I
SAP-518 pod will be replaced by DARE High Band Jammer.
Elbit Su 967 Heads Up Display will be replaced by CSIO developed Heads Up Display
The Cockpit is redesigned with wider screens and the cockpit in general been made more digital with back up instruments.
The DARE Mission Computer is upgraded, now providing data more quickly.
The new varient currently has no name but it will for now it's place holder name will be Su-30NMKI.
IAF estimates that the upgrades will cost $10 Million per aircraft and is also planning procure 36 more Su-30NMKI. Total cost $5.5 Billion.
