Statement on Recent Nuclear Tests in Indian Ocean

Prime Minister Nathaniel Liew and the Government of the Union of Aozhou strongly condemns the recent nuclear warhead detonation off the coast of the Chagos Islands and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. These tests are a flagrant violation of British sovereignty that inflames tensions in the region and is detrimental to the maintenance of peace. Furthermore, these tests have potential to cause untold and irreparable damage to ecological systems, wildlife, and human health throughout the entire region bordering the Indian Ocean, including Southeast Asia and the western shores of Aozhou, which is of immediate interest to the Government of Aozhou.

The Aozhou Defense Forces, in conjunction with the Aozhou Government, are monitoring the situation and will continue to provide assistance and information to Aozhouse citizens in New Holland, Darwin, and the northwest shore of the Central Aboriginal Territories on radiation detected in the region. The Government of Aozhou will be reaching out and coordinating further responses to this dangerous provocation with our allies in the Commonwealth and with our close ASEON partner, Indonesia (Eulumia).
