Icewindia
Blayredeshia
The news of the destruction of Aurora arrived quickly in the Confederation.
From nearly all sources, recorded in pictures and videos or told in reports by witnesses and victims themselves, was described a flash of blinding light, before the City itself was - by most accounts - vaporized. Sources spoke of strange burns and mass deaths, and untold thousands - if not millions - displaced by the event, and an untold number of people killed outright by the event.
Across the 9 Confederate Republics, a mourning of mass scale took place, as people took in the scale of what would be known as the 'Destruction of Aurora'. Some people went on as normal, some people cried. Most remained silent, mourning to themselves for the victims of the devastation in Icewindia. Sometime after the first mournings, mass gatherings took place in public parks, in memorial sites and cemeteries. Thousands, and then millions, of candles were lit and lanterns released to show solidarity and mourning, and then as support for, the victims and the displaced. The people of the Confederation, from Ivery and Columbia to even Vale, all stood in unprecedented solidarity with the affected Icewindians, showing their hope and their desires for help to the affected.
Furthermore, a vast public support for the deployment of the Red Cross to Icewindia and around Aurora would sweep the Confederation like wildfire, with nearly 95% of citizens from all Confederate Republics showing their support and desire for aid to be sent to the Icewindians and to aid the affected peoples of the Destruction of Aurora. After a vote from Parliament, and a decision from the Red Cross itself, it was unanimously declared that a volunteer force of Red Cross Operatives be sent to Icewindia, to aid the affected and displaced peoples in the aftermath of the Destruction of Aurora. More than 1,000 Volunteers from the 9 Confederate Republics, as well as members of the Multi-Active Rescue Corps, would be sent with the appropriate equipment, as well as materials donated from across the Confederation such as food, bottled water, medical supplies, and even gift baskets and comfort basket, to Icewindia, and aid camps would be set up across the Lake Aurora Region.
In addition, many cities from across the Confederation - most predominantly in the Confederate Republics of Columbia, Audoti, Rubati, Caerus, and Vale as well as in the City of Ivery - have announced that they would be willing to temporarily host groups of affected and displaced peoples until it is deemed safe to return to Aurora, or until the affected themselves wish to return to Icewindia.
=============
With the Confederacy of Blayredeshia having publicly claimed responsibility for the devastation which occurred in Aurora, Icewindia, the Confederate Parliament has made the majority decision to temporarily close embassies to Blayredeshia, until further notice or until Parliament votes to reopen embassies. In addition, travel to Blayredeshia has been increased in security measures, under the belief that a possible threat could arise. All ports with travel routes to Blayredeshia directly have gained an increased CBS (Confederate Border Security) presence, and additional travel screenings for people arriving from and departing to Blayredeshia have been put into place.
To support the decision, the Speaker of the Parliament has released a statement on behalf of the Confedearate Parliament as to the recent decision to temporarily close embassies and increase travel security measures.
"On behalf of the Parliament of the Confederation, and on behalf of the nine Confederate Republics, I speak to state the decision to temporarily close embassies with the Confederacy of Blayredeshia, and to temporarily increase travel security with travels to Blayredeshia. As the Blayredeshian Emperor has claimed responsibility for the horrifying destruction of Aurora, Icewindia, the Parliament of the Confederation as well as the Queen Mary-Anne Arala of the Solinare Royalty have made the near-unanimous decision to increase security measures and temporarily close embassies with Blayredeshia until further notice, out of concern for the safety of the International Community at large and out of mourning for the affected peoples of the Destruction of Aurora. Peace be to the Confederation, and Peace be to the nine Republics."
