RP: Liberate The South! - The Hyechonan War (1)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG0TiM7lSkk&t=942s (keep the time value)

The killing of the current South Hyechonan president by Icewindian collaborators sent waves of opportunity coursing through the veins of the Jucheist insurgents in the south. It was only a matter of hours before the information reached the North. The Dear Leader, the Mother Kang Hyeong-Suk knew that an adeptly armed military regime would prove a threat to the North's unification efforts- so the enthusiastic population of the North switched into a war economy and prepared to liberate the South.

The better organized and larger sized Hyechonan People's Army rallied its forces and under flagbearers and the cover of armored units crossed the parallel with ease. The ROHA was caught completely off guard and smashed all the way back to the capital- linking up to cells of insurgents to properly support them. The provisional government and Icewindian authorities were forced to flee not a day after their regime changed to Busan. The capital of Hanseong was seized under two days. The South Hyechonan civilians welcomed them with cheers and floral poms. Over the very building that the old regime was assassinated- the North Hyechonan flag was raised to cheering civilians.

South Hyechonan planes dropped like flies over the countryside to the immensely numerous anti air assets the Hyechonan People's Army were funneling into insurgent-occupied areas. Helicopters couldn't take off without being peppered by small arms fire. In several days, the combined forces of North Hyechon and their southern People's Guerrilla Army had seized over half of the peninsula, with public civilian support for the new regime surging. The southern FOB's were targeted with katyusha-style maelstroms of rockets and kamikaze-type operations using hijacked southern civilian planes.

The ring of freedom was drawing tighter and tighter towards the southern coastline, and a perimeter had been set, but even in that perimeter- the guerrilla activity was hot. The flags of North Hyechon flew forward-facing in almost every battle in immense charges of tanks and cheering civilians/guerrillas.

On the coasts, the offshore islands were being seized one by one- and southern remnant ports harassed by stolen southern ships and the smaller patrol craft of the Hyechonan People's Navy. While the North didn't have that much air superiority, they made up for it in ridiculously dense anti-air networks.

With the marines in a tight perimeter and the forces of the North growing by the minute- the situation was getting dire.
