Treaty of Movebo Deus Modus et Solve Fasciculos
(Treaty of Forbidding Godmode and reset button, also known as the godmode treaty)


This ruleset will disallow godmoding, metagaming and reset-buttoning in general RMB RolePlay as well as limiting military sizes in the StrangeReal setting, the main RMB RP setting.

Defines Godmoding as:
An unwanted way to gain supreme abilities far beyond the capabilities of a nation,
attacking others with godlike abilities where the opponent can do nothing against,
ignore defences and opponent armies.
All in an attempt to troll, win, feel good, be a tough guy, or just to be a dick.

Godmoding
When one plays a character that can never be destroyed, harmed, etc. The character, however, can hurt and/or kill the other characters without giving the other characters a chance.

This is highly illegal in most, if not all, roleplays.
Sarah = Regular player
Bob = Godmodder

-Arrows go through Bob and Bob jumps up and reaches into Sarah's chest and drags out her beating heart, squeezing the life out of it and killing her-

Defines Metagaming as:
Using out of character knowledge and utilizing it icly for advantages.

Metagaming
When game information outside of what is available in a game is used to give a player an advantage in-game. Most commonly seen and frowned upon in many forms of role playing especially when consent has not been given.
Example:
-
A dungeons and dragons adventure team comes across an unknown monster in-game. The metagamer knows this monster through out-of-game information. Using this information, the metagamer's character acts upon the monster's weaknesses and attributes despite the character having never seen the monster before.
Defines reset buttoning as:
A way to reset past events in an attempt to undo the mistake one made or to undo the victory of an oponent or one self.
This can include anything from using clones to abstain from being killed, using timetravel to reset what happened, etc

Makes all RP that has not been defined as non-canon canon in that the effects are lasting and will be recorded throughout history.

The laws on this matter will contain several rules to make RP-ing more serious and less horrific.

Any paragraph marked with a * counts for all maps and RP, paragraphs without * only count for the Strangereal RP

1. Army size:
-
Armies will only be allowed to be a certain size to ensure the RP remains at least a little bit sane.
*You will need two variables for the equation.

The formula to calculate your nations allowed military size is simple and fast:

AM=RP*0.03

RP=Roleplay Population

Note I:This means allowed in total, not at one time, so no refilling when you lose some.

Note II
: Just because you can use 3% of your population does not mean you should,
like with drugs and alcohol, use in moderation.
Know when enough is enough.

*2. Wars, Voiding and Post-War Claims:
-
You can only declare war on another person or do something if both agree to it. If the other person has been baiting(doing this against people in areas that are not yours, example: piracy in international waters, killing/kidnapping peoples citizens, attempting to block people from going through land or waters that are not yours, etc) or been attacking other nations while attempting to use the void, their void will often not be allowed by the moderation team. If you are attacked against your will or if during an ongoing rp people do things that you do not want, you are able to void their actions, aka rendering their actions non-existent. You are able to request something being voided either by speaking with the person you rp with themselves or if denied there, by TGing Gameside or DMing Discordside members of the RMB RP Moderation Team. We request you attempt to come to a resolution with each other first before coming to the moderation team.

The amount of land that can be taken from a nation can only be as much as the amount of words written times 1.5(1) and the post has to show that effort was put in(2). In the case that an attempt is made to inflate text, space it out or otherwise edited to look bigger and to get more, the amount of pixels attempted to be grabbed will be taken away from the offender.

1. In the case of less words being written but of a higher quality the amount obtained can potentially be higher.
2. Whether or not the effort put in was enough will be decided on a case-to-case base by the RMB RP Moderation Team.

3. Realism and aesthetics:
-
Despite the fact that the general laws of physics apply to SR, things like aerodynamics, do not necessarily need to matter. This is to allow people to have different aesthetics to their vehicles or equipment without them becoming bad, obsolete or what have you.
An example would be someone who for whichever reason desires to have trebuchets instead of normal SPG's. Assuming the cost, reload, damage, numbers etc are the same as usual they can also have the same range since it'd be purely aesthetic.

*4. Maps:
-
A. If one nation is not on the map of a RP setting but tries to RP in it, and they are not busy to get put on the map, then interactions are not fully canon until they are placed upon the map.

B.The creation of new Roleplay Settings(maps) is not allowed, the official maps offer enough for every type of RP to be possible. RP outside of the maps is possible but limited to only two people. This includes alliances, treaties, and other similar things.

*5. Sovereignty:
-
No-one can decide matters in someone else's nation for them, you cannot decide how other nation's citizens behave, how they feel or what they do. Neither can you decide if there are rebels in someone else's nation, nor that there are citizens of x nation in that or your nation without that persons consent. Only the nation's owner gets to decide what happens in that nation. (Exceptions are things like peace treaties where one side gets to occupy a nation and gets to torture/enslave the people, this is allowed but highly frowned upon)

6. Restrictions On Weapons Of Mass Destruction

Weapons of Mass Destruction, any further weapon that will be able to kill one million people or above.
They cannot be used unless both parties in the RP consent and it is green-lit by the RP Mods
7. General Weaponry restrictions
-
There are several types of weapons that endanger the fun and safety of RP and which will thus be disallowed for usage
These weapons include:
Spaceships/stations with weapons and/or military personnel on them.
Orbital Weapons (excluding surface launched missiles that pass through the atmosphere for a moment)
Lasers, Plasma and other similar weaponry can only be utilized like regular firearms(see rule 3.)

*Note: If a weapon not on the list but it is weirdly powerful, ask a RP moderator if it is fine, things can still be decided to be banned or allowed on a case-to-case base.

8. Maritime borders and Canals
-
Maritime borders are defined by several things: location, contesting and the flow of international waters.
International waters is defined as all waters not held by a nation.
The general limit of how much water surface you can hold is around 30 pixels from shore but is limited by the previously mentioned things.
Light blue is international waters, as can be seen none of the nations maritime borders interfere with it to ensure a good, solid flow of international trade and all such. As can also be seen to the right with the island group, both have an equal right to the area an as such, share it down the middle. The larger island however can still hold the area between their large and smaller island since this area is uncontested. Same as the area held by the light green nation next to the small canal. As there is noone to contest it and noone needs to be in that bay, they get to hold the entirety of it, of course still giving way to the international waters coming through the canal. On the other hand you have the bay between the yellow and red nation to the south which have to share the bay, neither gets full control over the entrance.

Light blue again is international waters. Now if we look at the are where in Ex. 1 there were two nations contesting the small bay, there is now only one with full control over the bay due to there being no contesting nations. And to the right island group where previously the smaller islands could hold the area between them together everything is now divided equally between all island nations. The large bay next to the canal this time too is not held by one nation, with a smaller nation in the middle contesting the waters, therefore the are is contested and as such, divided. If you look to the bottom left there was a lake hat is being contested by not two, the two on the right sharing one bay despite the one on the left and top having their bays to themselves due to a lack of contesting. The darker pink nation controlling the canal has full access and control over the canal.
You are not allowed to build things outside of your maritime borders, so no oil platforms or anything of the sort.
Everything done inside ones maritime borders is counted the same as anything done inside ones nation meaning that they have full sovereignty over it.
Interfering with international waters counts towards baiting as it is interfering with peoples right of way inside international waters, this includes tolls, piracy, mining, blockading, dumping, etc.
An exception to things like tolls is areas like canals where an upkeep is to be paid for maintenance. And areas where the weather might prohibit right of way such as polar routes where a nation in its area might require icebreakers to keep the way open. This requires upkeep and allows the nation to ask a tithe for making sure the sea lanes remain open.
Additionally the owner(s) of canals, due to canals being "luxury" by lack of a better word, have full control over who has right of way through them.

Smaller internal canals are freely allowed to be made, shipping a large traffic canals like the Suez and Panama canals irl require moderation permission to be made with a good reasoning behind its construction.

9. Originality
-
Being inspired by a series, movie, person, ship, plane, company, or whatever else you can think of is one thing, and is perfectly fine. But at least a little bit of creativity and originality is expected from you, do not just blatantly 1:1 copy something or someone from their sources or google. "But i want my leader Teddy Roosevelt that looks like Teddy Roosevelt to be called Teddy Roosevelt too!" no, not happening. If you have the ability to make a nation, you have the ability to come up with a bit more original name than that, being "Too lazy to be creative" is not an acceptable excuse, you can do it, i believe in you

10. Edge
-
Not every story of rebellion has to be a doom-esque edgefest with murder, torture and whatever in grave detail, no you don't need to mention how (insert char) had their (insert body part) slowly cut off/out and shoved into (insert orifice), no you cannot skin sentient nekos and furries and turn them into coats, be normal or i'm gonna call the psych ward on you.
Genocide and Slavery can only be RPed upon being allowed by the RMB RP Moderation team and needs to have a proper reasoning behind it for this exact reason.

11. Misc Strangereal Rules

You can't make "teleported"/"warped in" or whatever from another dimension/timeline your historical origin.
Your nation cannot "come from space" either
Space Colonisation is not allowed
Space Mining is not allowed
Building weaponized bases in space or on planets is not allowed
There is no extraterrestrial life other than the worms of Arrakis
Space Exploration is limited to the Heliosystem
and one can only land on our dearest Luna for research, circle in orbit or observe the others

*12. Discord Servers and DM groups

It is not permitted to have Discord Servers or DM groups dedicated to any roleplay happening in St. Helene, this is for a variety of reasons among which toxicity and child grooming and is not up to debate. St. Helene has an official RP server that you can make use of. Violating this will result in a ban scaling up to permanent from both the discord and the RP settings.

*13. Violators
-
Violators of this ruleset will have their godmode posts been declared null and void,
meaning that any post containing malicious godmoding is not recognized and does not exist,
only non-godmode posts will be accepted.
Any attempt to use loopholes will result in moderation sticking their feet in a certain dark location owned by the offender

The severity and judgement on whether something is godmoding will be on a case-to-case base by the RMB RP Moderators

The Treaty of Recte Vivere
(Treaty of Right to live, also known as the imperialism treaty)

The purpose of this treaty is to define the acceptable limits of Imperialism. Imperialism is defined as the practice of extending the power, rule and dominion by one nation over another nation, especially by direct territorial acquisitions(taking pixels via war) or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic life of other areas. This treaty's ultimate defining characteristic is to allow for the protection of all members of the community of Role-Playing nations within the North Pacific's Regional Message Board from getting essentially bullied out of their land or sovereignty.

*1. TERMS/CLAUSES

1 - When a new nation (known henceforth as 'nation A') initially enters into the RMB and expresses intent on joining (whether through the direct saying thereof or beginning RP thereof), that nation will be noted by any "regulars" as fulfilling the condition of appearing.

2 - The condition of appearing is voided if said nation A immediately commits to any of the below acts listed under Conditions - 2A

3 - After the condition of appearing is noted, nation A, if defined as "fledgling" or "small," will be given a total of fourteen days to converse with community members, understand the community dynamic, and determine if it wants to become a "regular" of the RMB RP community. This phase is called its trial.

4 - Any nation considered as "regular" of the RMB RP community that attempts to violate the above clause with the intentions listed under Conditions - 4A, will have its actions voided unless nation A has committed to any of the listed acts listed under Conditions - 2A

5 - After the satisfaction of Term/Clause 3, nation A will be considered as a "regular" and will now be subject to the clauses/terms and conditions of this treaty in relation to the perspective of being a "regular" rather than a new nation.

*2. CONDITIONS

1A - Appearing is defined as entering into the RMB in a non-hostile or non-disruptive manner.

2A - Immediately declaring war/open hostilities on any nations, both new and regulars; godmodding as defined above; spamming repeatedly of hostile or otherwise negatively connotative or denotative comments without plausible or acceptable warrant; the intentional harassment of community members

3A - Trial is defined as the probationary period of fourteen days in which a new nation, if considered as "fledgling" or "small," will be given a total of fourteen days in order to partake in the actions listed under Terms -3

4A - Contempt of clause 4 under Terms will be defined as wanting to annex/take control thereof (without consent).

*3. PUPPET NATIONS

Any nation found guilty of contempt against the above conditions or clauses will no longer be covered under the above treaty thereafter. This includes but may not be limited to:

-bad puppet nations

Bad puppet nations are defined as nations determined to be similar to the actions and behaviors thereof a nation that has appeared before it. A bad puppet nation may also not act or behave in the same way as the nation that the community associates it with, but still be under the same owner as the nation it is associated with.

If the community determines that a nation that might be covered under this treaty is, in fact, a puppet nation of a nation, they lose the rights under this treaty and are to be reported to either the RMB mods or the Cartography Staff


This all to ensure good RP, as less malicious godmoding as possible and the reduction of godmode based spam and a base for peace.

The Treaty of the Right to Live

Rationale of the Treaty

The purpose of this treaty is to define the acceptable limits of the concept of Imperialism. Henceforth, Imperialism is defined as the policy, practice, or advocacy of extending the power and dominion of a nation especially by direct territorial acquisitions or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic life of other areas. This treaty's ultimate defining characteristic, then, is to allow for the procreation of the collective creativity, unity, and protection of all members of the community of Role-Playing nations within the North Pacific's Regional Message Board (referenced from now on as "regular(s)"), going into effect immediately as of this day:

October 8th, in the year 2017

Terms and Amendments of the Treaty

Terms, conditions, and amendments to the treaty may be proposed by any member deemed a "regular." Any new amendments, conditions, and terms proposed thereafter the initial rectification of this treaty is subject to RP RMB Moderation approval. The terms of the treaty, henceforth, will be known as the below:

If the community determines that a nation that might be covered under this treaty is, in fact, a puppet nation of a nation, that nation immediately voids any and all rights under this treaty and will henceforth be treated as a "regular" of the community regardless of behavior.

Ratification and Affirmation of the Treaty

All nations who agree to this treaty's clauses/terms and conditions, must copy and fill out the below affirmation statement and post it to the RMB with the express intention of allowing for the community scrutinizing thereof said statement. This is also to ensure that there is a public record of said nation affirming that it agrees to the treaty.

Treaty of Manifest Accusation Prohibet Seditiones:

RECOGNISING that insurgencies, civil conflicts and other forms of notable national dissent can have major impacts in a nation, including immense changes to ideology, governance, and foreign policy, as well as the elimination of imprisonment of notable individuals.

AWARE that various foreign powers will take different sides in such conflicts.

UNDERSTANDING the frustration experienced when a rebellion is created by one player in the nation of another player.

RECOGNISING the right for each player to control their nation as they wish so long as it is is reasonable and legal as per the conventions of the RMB.

CERTAIN that the ability to have control over rebellions taking place in one’s own nation when requested, and to end rebellions undesired by the player who’s nation is suffering from, is a fundamental component of this right.

COMPREHENDING that being forced to change one’s entire government, characters, ideology and other aspects as a result of an unwanted rebellion created and controlled by another player is exceptionally frustrating and unfair.

CLARIFYING that the ability for other players to control their own factions in civil wars may be retained if desired by the player who’s nation the civil war takes place in.

HEREBY:

1. Defines for this treaty the following:
a) Insurrection: any form of insurgency, rebellion, unrest, revolution, or civil war within a nation.
b) Host Player: The player who owns the nation in which insurrection occurs.
c) Host Nation: The nation in which insurrection occurs.
d) Rebel Player(s): The player/s who control foreign rebels.
e) Foreign Rebels: Insurrections started or controlled by players who are not the host player.
f) Intervention: The actions of nations who are not involved in controlling foreign rebels nor are the host nation, but which are regardless involved in the insurrection.

2. Allows the host player to void the actions of foreign rebels should they desire to do so.

3. Allows the host player to allow or disallow rebel players to be involved in their insurrection.

4. Allows the host player to void and/or prohibit unwanted intervention.

I am no longer updating the map. Or, I stopped updating it a year ago, but people keep asking for places on the map, hence this disclaimer. So you'll have to go find whoever actually takes map requests these days, I don't know whom.

Here are the maps of Puczovska and other nations.

If anyone would like to stake a claim in for some land on the map then TG New Trisone, Edwerlantin, Puczovska, Angshire, Lotion Empire, or British Bayonet

Claims must be:
A1. Reasonable enough to be put onto the map. No beginner nation will be the size of Puczovska, or higher, for their claim. If you want more accurate claims and you have Paint.net, beginner claims have a limit of 30k pixels at the equator. Unless you give up land from your main nation, your secondary nation will have to be at 15k pixels or less.
A2. Picky is good. Feel free to request changes to borders if you aren't happy with them.
A3. This map's planet is the same size as Earth, so I won't be making the map any bigger. If Earth can fit 200 nations, so can mine.
A4. I am not adding new territory to the map. Use the existing land more efficiently and we won't need any more.
A5. Existing nations on the map cannot claim unclaimed land (except in exceptional circumstances).
A6. Not Glacea nor any body of water.
A7. If a returning member to the map then for x being your old nation size in pixels upon removal: New pixel claim limit = 0.5(x - 30k).

Map removal is strictly allowed to only happen when the following criteria are met:
B1. AFRP, or Away From RP (not RPing for 25 days, 20 days in the case of people on other RMB maps)
B2. RMB RP Ban (if one clause states "therefore, the RMB Cartography Staff shall remove <nation> from the map")
B3. Cease to Exist (when the nation dies in the 28th day. Exceptions apply.)

Note: The staff updates the map once a week, every Saturday. Because of the week long intervals, it is possible someone may have claimed land you wanted before the next update is released. Please plan accordingly.

The Heliosystem


The Heliosystem is the solar system Strangereal and its moon are located in, for thousands of years now mankind has looked on towards the heavens from the planets face. Yet only recently have its inhabitants managed to leave behind its powerful gravitational pull to land on the surface of the moon.



The Sun

The sun is the center of the Heliosystem and the star that all of its planets orbit. It is a massive ball of fire millions of degrees hot, warming and lighting many of the planets in the Heliosystem

IX

IX is the closest planet to the sun and circles around it in a mere 80 days, due to its proximity to the sun its surface is always scorched by its heat, its surface covered in vulcanos and lava and no life could possibly exist on it.

Caladan

Caladan is the second closest planet to the sun and circles it in 150 days, a freezing cold rock planet with a toxic environment unsuitable for life of any kind.

Hydrea and its moon

Hydrea is the third planet from the sun and orbits it in 220 days, billions of years in the past Hydrea was as close to Strangereal as the moon is today, and as such for centuries scientists thought it to be a second Strangereal, protected from the sun by its clouds. But in recent years images by satellites and a rover landing by the IBSA confirmed that; despite its closer proximity to the sun and its abundance of water, no life is suitable on Hydrea. Its deep saline abyss oceans can sustain no life.
It has one moon, Tupile which despite its proximity to Hydrea is but an empty frozen wasteland of rock and ice.

Strangereal and the Moon

Strangereal is the fourth planet from the sun as well as the homeplanet of all known intelligent life in the Heliosystem, it is the birthplace of Man, Neko, Syca, Lotion and many more species living on its surface, it has a plethora of climates and takes 365 days to orbit around the sun.
Its moon despite its proximity to Strangereal is a mix of ice and rock frozen in time and filled with the scars of a billion impacts.

Arrakis and Richesse

Arrakis is the fifth planet from the sun and the closest planet to Strangereal, it orbits the Sun in 430 days. Its surface is covered completely in sand with a total lack of water, due to its low atmosphere the days are scorching hot as the nights are freezing cold. Several years back an expedition by the IBSA to Arrakis confirmed the presence of life, massive sand worms stalk the dunes, how or why has not been discovered as the expedition members had to leave very quickly due to an error in one of the spacesuits, however more expeditions are planned for the future. It has one moon, Richesse, which is covered in ice according to satellite images and is slightly larger than Strangereals moon.

Joviana and its moons

Joviana is the sixth planet from the sun and the largest in the Heliosystem, however there are debates on whether or not to classify Joviana as a planet due to it being a gas giant instead of a solid planet. Joviana has four moons, Titania, Urupa, AO and Janimade. Interestingly enough Titania and Urupa are located on nearly the same distance from Joviana albeit on different levels, both orbiting at roughly the same speed, 180 days, with Joviana itself orbiting around the sun in over 13 years.
Janimade and AO are the two outer moons of Joviana, orbiting the giant in 340 and 310 days respectively.
