The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 938 million Sufferians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Law & Order is also considered important, while Education receives no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Grief. The average income tax rate is 44.8%, but much higher for the wealthy.

Crime is well under control, thanks to a well-funded police force. Unending Suffering's national animal is the Hawk, which can occasionally be seen dodging aircraft in the nation's cities.
