The Republic of AnnaK is a colossal, orderly nation, ruled by The Great Gazo with an iron fist, and remarkable for its pith helmet sales, absence of drug laws, and devotion to social welfare. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 6.178 billion AnnaKians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Industry, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bedrock. The average income tax rate is 86.6%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient AnnaKian economy, worth 782 trillion Clams a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched black market in Tourism, Uranium Mining, Arms Manufacturing, and Automobile Manufacturing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 126,681 Clams, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The wreckages of bombed planes that litter AnnaK are highly popular tourist destinations, 4-year-olds are often found reminiscing about the 'good old days', lottery winners spend most of their money on security, and The Great Gazo has taken to wearing medal-adorned military uniform in all public appearances. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. AnnaK's national animal is the Triceratops, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
