The Confederation of Republic of Dixie is a titanic, efficient nation, ruled by Rex of Texas with an iron fist, and renowned for its museums and concert halls, unlimited-speed roads, and absence of drug laws. The compassionate, cynical population of 23.848 billion Confederates are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The large, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Education, Industry, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Galveston. The average income tax rate is 96.4%.

The frighteningly efficient Confederate economy, worth a remarkable 4,140 trillion Confederate Notes a year, is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Tourism, and Retail. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 173,609 Confederate Notes, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.2 times as much as the poorest.

Artists count down the years until Rex of Texas is allowed to listen to their music, basketball players are sick and tired of the court, friendly fire incidents usually result in severe burns, and frequent flyers are chiseled into statues. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Republic of Dixie's national animal is the Black-Mouthed Cur, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Spirtual Gnostic.

Republic of Dixie is ranked 4,104th in the world and 2nd in Dixie for Highest Average Tax Rates, with 96.36 Effective Tax Rate.
