The Empire of REBD 8 is a mid-sized, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, state-planned economy, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, democratic, devout population of 62 million Red-Eyeds are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The large, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Spirituality, and Education. The average income tax rate is 49.4%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped REBD 8ian economy, worth 2.20 trillion black coins a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is broadly diversified, is led by the Pizza Delivery industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Furniture Restoration. Average income is 35,506 black coins, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. REBD 8's national animal is the dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

REBD 8 is ranked 291,889^th in the world and 33^rd in The Azure Archipelago for Highest Disposable Incomes, with 17,966.43 Standard Monetary Units.
