The People's Republic of Osaydan is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Tovozyol Kadged with an iron fist, and remarkable for its zero percent divorce rate, punitive income tax rates, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 1.256 billion Osaydanians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Basakite. The average income tax rate is 72.6%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Osaydanian economy, worth 117 trillion Hateks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is led by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Arms Manufacturing, and Retail. Average income is 93,404 Hateks, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The police have been known to wiretap confessional boxes, cash-strapped junkies lick rabbits for a cheap high, a little pushing and pulling is needed for big ships to pass, and small shoes often wash up on the beach. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Osaydan's national animal is the bison, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Osaydan is ranked 279,390th in the world and 36th in Lewisham Library for Highest Unexpected Death Rate, scoring 25.28 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
