The Ranch of Malon is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Talon with an even hand, and notable for its burgeoning cow population. The tiny government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Education, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Lon Lon Ranch. The average income tax rate is 6.9%.

The Malonian economy, worth 296 trillion milks a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Basket Weaving, and Book Publishing. Average income is 60,771 milks, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.3 times as much as the poorest.

Talon has just been declared ruler of Malon in an international press conference, doctors who mutter "Oh my God" often lose their medical license, surveillance cameras are banned, and some are born loving old plays and some have old plays thrust upon them.
