The City of Lerida is a mammoth, efficient nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5.819 billion Léridanos are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.

The tiny, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Spirituality, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Lérida. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 8.4%.

The strong Léridano economy, worth 370 trillion pessetas a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Gambling industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Pizza Delivery, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is 63,615 pessetas, with the richest citizens earning 8.7 times as much as the poorest.

Lerida has designated Lérida as its capital city, in a fit of passion Leader has shredded thirty years' worth of petitions, Leader has just been declared ruler of Lerida in an international press conference, and a major religion has been named as Lerida's national religion. Crime is moderate, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Lerida's national animal is the wolf, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Lerida is ranked 14,253^rd in the world and 3^rd in Cities for Largest Pizza Delivery Sector, scoring 5,523.05 on the Pepperoni Propulsion Productivity Index.
