The Republic of Katorue is a titanic, socially progressive nation, notable for its compulsory military service. The devout population of 14.067 billion Katorueans are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The large government prioritizes Spirituality, although Welfare, Law & Order, and Defense are also considered important. The average income tax rate is 46.0%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but underdeveloped Katoruean economy, worth 430 trillion katorgas a year, is quite specialized and mostly made up of the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Arms Manufacturing and Basket Weaving. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 30,583 katorgas, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Katorue's national animal is the abalone, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Katorue is ranked 253,421^st in the world and 4^th in Starlight Isles for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -6.24 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
