In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 35.5%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but underdeveloped Himarian economy, worth 131 trillion pesos a year, is quite specialized and led by the Cheese Exports industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Furniture Restoration, and Trout Farming. Crime is well under control, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Himari's national animal is the eagle.
