The Kingdom of Champaubert is a mammoth, socially progressive nation, ruled by King Jérôme III with a fair hand, and renowned for its free-roaming dinosaurs, multi-spousal wedding ceremonies, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, democratic population of 5.006 billion Champaubertians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Welfare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Audierne. The average income tax rate is 69.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Champaubertian economy, worth 722 trillion livres a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Retail. Average income is an impressive 144,319 livres, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Citizens gather eagerly to witness exotic animals being blasted out of cannons, Audierne's main city thoroughfare has been blocked by a row of leyland cypresses that mysteriously appeared overnight, conspiracy theorists allege Audierne's new subway map resembles Satanic symbols, and crime pays. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Champaubert's national animal is the Hippogriff, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is Violetism.

Champaubert is ranked 8,715^th in the world and 115^th in Europeia for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 67.49 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
