The Queen's State of Carnduff is a gargantuan, cultured nation, remarkable for its museums and concert halls, punitive income tax rates, and devotion to social welfare. The hard-working, democratic population of 40.9 billion Carnduffians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The enormous, outspoken government is primarily concerned with Welfare, although Law & Order, Healthcare, and Education are also considered important, while Spirituality and Social Policy are ignored. The average income tax rate is 58.1%.

The strong Carnduffian economy, worth a remarkable 1,465 trillion betales a year, is highly specialized and led by the Book Publishing industry, with significant contributions from Basket Weaving, Furniture Restoration, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is 35,824 betales, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.2 times as much as the poorest.

The government is slowly introducing social welfare programs, euthanasia is legal, citizens recently voted in favour of declaring bubblewrap an 'abomination of nature', and none has been named as Carnduff's national religion. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Carnduff's national animal is the deer, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is none.

Carnduff is ranked 74,999^th in the world and 1^st in Carnduff for Highest Average Tax Rates, with 58.08 Effective Tax Rate.
