America: Huge uproar about Russian interference in their elections
Rest of the World: First time?
(This is most likely historically inaccurate...please don't nuke my house...I love Murica. USA! USA!)
Remodio and San Jimenez
That we should bring back the monarchy?
Nhoor and Ktismandrasi
They have policies?
I'm still voting for the catgirls
My foster brother prefers his steak well done. How should I execute him for crimes against food
I wouldn't mind tbh.
Medium rare is best. Don't @ me.
When I saw a WA resolution called "Condemn This Game", I thought it was about the SG elections.
Started a new workout regime today and my entire upper body is burning
Does anyone in TWI have feral cats as part of their nation's biology?
F. catus is a foreign plague to be culled on sight.
That being said, there exist domesticated and wild populations of P. marmorata.
Vancouvia why are we no longer SECURE (as per the wfe)? I demand answers.
Havallish Kleiger Is basically a feral house cat
I hope you guys like armored vehicles, I actually put much more effort into this one than the Jet, due to the fact that I don't know as much about aircraft.
Development:
Developed from 2010 to 2015 by SKLT Systems to replace the SV-75V6 on H.F.C.A use and supplement it on O.O.C.A use. One of the reasons the Skandlasian government decided on a lighter tank is due to the use and transit on Skandlasian roads, with 75% of the bridges and 30% of the roads in the country, being unable to support the much heavier SV-75. Despite various initial errors such as weapon malfunctions, software glitches, and one nasty jam of the horizontal drive. The tank has been a successful replacement for the SV-75. One of the major innovations is the introduction of an Electrothermal-Chemical Technology or ETC Gun, utilizing a plasma cartridge to ignite the ammunition propellant in a more effective and predictable manner, effectively allowing the use of more effective, higher density propellants, this allows for greater penetration, velocity, and range while being able to fire conventional 100mm rounds, such as those used on the SV-75. Allowing Skandlandian forces to continue the use of the same shells.
Another major feature is the use of an Active Variable Pneumatic suspension, increasing gun depression and giving the tank the ability to see and in some cases fire over higher obstacles. The majority of the project budget went onto SKLT Systems developing various communications, demining and sensor suites, as the SV-75 was known for poor visibility and unreliable radios. As for the demining suite it consists of a frequency barrier and a UHF generator, in case of a possible IED attack or minefield, the UHF generator is activated, detonating prematurely any radio-controlled mines or explosives, if UHF generator is unavailable, or the danger of collateral casualties is too high, the frequency barriers is used instead, jamming any radio signals.
The HVK-10 Tiraljør was designed together with a new 100mm APFSDS round with plasma ignited propellants, allowing for 35% more velocity and increasing penetration without increasing caliber. Another advantage of the plasma ignited propellants is the much-reduced danger of an ammunition cook-off or ammunition explosion, increasing survivability. Much of the vehicle's protection equipment is designed with crew survivability in mind, 15mm of reinforced titanium protect the crew compartment in case of a penetrating hit, the soft-kill active defense system can neutralize projectiles before impacting the vehicle, this is done through various AESA radars and optical sensors paired with a premature detonation electronic system. a soft-kill system was chosen over a hard-kill system or a combined soft-kill, hard-kill suite due to the defensive nature of the vehicle, reducing collateral casualties was a priority in the design, although the soft-kill APS is not as effective as a combination of both.
A turbine engine was chosen over a conventional diesel engine due to increased horsepower at low speed and lower fuel consumption on the move, but it had to be paired with an APU as it would consume too much fuel when idle. The APU is a hydrogen fuel engine, something common in Skandlasian cars and increasingly in military hardware. The engine is placed on the front of the vehicle to increase the effective thickness of the front armor without increasing weight.

I think next up in my list is fleshing out the royal families, and then introducing a railroad system once I get a spot on the map.
I slept soundly last night. Thanks SECURE!
*gives thumbs up to camera*
*grins cheesily*
*totally doesn't have a gun pressed firmly into spine*

The year 2022 as it happened
Click here for a larger image
Another year has passed, which is typical yearly behaviour: passing. And what a year it was: it had days, it had months, it had nanoseconds! And things happened! There is a war in Europe! Peru had six Prime Ministers this year! Cats were lost! The Queen died! Weather took place!
And of course there was the Great Blackout of NationStates! I remember it well. It must have been a Tuesday..., or was it a Friday? In any case, Fidel Castro was ready to accept Soviet nuclear arms, and... no; that was the Cuba Crisis. Confusing events. Anyway. It happened.
I mentioned it already in my previous monthly reports: this isn't really a monthly report, since this is the only one that will appear this year. Weekly reports were more my thing. Perhaps that my successor will do a better job with the monthly reports. It really started well, back in 2020, but after already a couple of months I noticed that months passed more quickly than I remembered writing the reports, so they became bi-monthly, then tri-monthly, and suddenly they were annual. Weekly reports are easier; weeks start and end on the same days so there is a fixed rhythm. Subsequent months end on different days (except January and February in normal years) so they are more difficult to schedule the report writing.
To make a long story even longer, here are some more words: ingefära, vachement, 黑鳥, boostât, pericombobulation, naughty, asiakaspalautelomakkeet, လက်ကိုင်ပုဝါ.
Your dispatches
Around 3300 new dispatches were written this year by nations who were at one shorter or longer point residents of The Western Isles. An overview of these dispatches can be found here:
It must be noted that there is a gap between 19 and 28 December: due to the Great Blackout of NationStates, no weekly report was written on 25 December so no dispatches were noted down between 19 December and the start of the blackout on the 23rd.
Graphs and Statistics
So here is the statistical overview of 2022. It was a rather normal year like we had in 2020 and 2021; normal amounts of nations in The Western Islands, albeit slightly above average from March on. But then in August something happened: in the third week of that month, 90 new nations joined TWI at once, which caused a lot of activity on the Regional Message Board as well as in the Dispatch area.
A similar event occurred in the first week of October, then 92 new nations joined at the same time, causing the number of nations in The Western Isles to peak at 514 in the second week of October, which is the largest population TWI had in quite a few years. October as a month outperformed all other months in terms of TWI residents; even in the somewhat weak third week of that month, there were still more TWI dwellers than in any other week outside of October. October also saw 2022's largest number of dispatches written in one week (100), the largest number of nations on the map (75), and the most pages added to the Regional Message Board (24). Of course, it didn't last (in the first week of November, 56 nations left at once) and we're back at 380 nations, but this is still more than any date in 2022 prior to Mid-September.
It is however noticeable that the Delegate endorsements didn't quite catch up: despite the huge number of new nations, only few of them answered to calls to endorse Vancouvia (and Ainslie). The second week of December saw the most endorsements (83). The number of nations on the map also didn't grow that much, although it still did: the maximum number of nations on the map before Mid-August was 62, whereas it went to 75 in the second week of October and didn't fall below 63 in the entire period after Mid-August.
A special mention should go to the number of Embassies with other regions, which is the only item that stubbornly went down for various reasons.
End
2023 has now started and with this new year has come the realisation that I will have been Secretary of Information for three years at the end of January, and although it has been fun, I think it is time to hand over the task to someone else. I therefore informed Vancouvia, Ainslie, and Aizcona last month that I will step down as Secretary of Information at the end of January 2023. If you are interested to succeed me, please inform Ainslie and/or Aizcona of your intention to do so, so that they can organise an election. I will of course be available should you require information about what a Secretary of Information does.
Happy 2023!

About the Monthly Report
Around the start of every month, the Monthly Report is compiled. This report is presented here in this dispatch. It contains the statistics and most important happenings of the previous month, accompanied by graphical representations of gathered data as well as the results of the Monthly Survey. For historical reports, check out the archives!
Cool. You are really putting up many cool dispatches.
I dunno but if you are interested in royal families...
The House of Mgar (Muh-GAR), also called the House of Mahangs or the Imperial Clan, was one of the most influential and distinguished royal houses of the Isles. The throne of the Khas-Kirat Empire was continuously occupied by the Mgars from 964 until their extinction in the female line in 1918. The house also produced emperors, kings and queens of the Kingdom of Noronica (later on the Nyssic Colonial Empire), Holy Domananian Empire, Dominion of Nhoor (through the Cenharruc-Mgar dynasty), the Osean Empire of the Eastern Isles, as well as rulers of several San Montagnan principalities. From the 17th Century onward, following the disastrous Heavenly War of the Hangates, the dynasty was split between its "mainland Magarati" and "outer" cadet branches predominately in what are now Samudera (Banser), Razzgriz (Ran), Wellsia (Xiangu) and New totzka (Asygno). Although they ruled distinct territories, they nevertheless maintained close relations and frequently intermarried.
The House takes its name from Mgar, wife of Mahang Mabo, the adopted son of Srijunga Hang the Conqueror and the Second Mahang of the Khas-Kirat Empire. The couple had four daughters but not a single son and the lack of male heir troubled Mabo. Legends state that Mgar convinced her husband to change the law and designate one of their daughters as the Third Mahang of the Khas-Kirat Empire. However, being unable to choose between his daughters the perfect heir, Mabo made succession elective for his daughters and their matrilineal descendants. He further ensured that each of his daughter had to get the backing of one of the major tribes of the Khas-Kirat Empire and prove themselves in battlefield as it would have been required by traditional law for sons. In order to do so, he allowed his daughters to lead their own mercenary bands and earn prestige at the battlefields of distant lands. All of the four daughters participated in the succession race and each married bore three daughters each. The Hanglaw region would later be known as Bara Magarat due to each of the 12 hangates that emerged out of the Heavenly War of the Hangates claiming descent from one of these 12 granddaughters of Mgar and Mabo.
In 945, Mabo and Mgar's second daughter Tira, married into the Yakthung tribe (also known as Kirat-Limbus later on), would be crowned the Third Mahang by the Kurultai of tribal leaders after her father's death. Even within the Mgar dynasty, her direct matrilineal descendants made the most Mahangs.
The "mainland Magarati" House of Mgar became extinct on November 11 of 1909 with the accidental murder (which some allege to be deliberate assassination) of Tilija Hangma when an unknown bullet struck her in the crossfire in Courlaroux during the 1909 Revolution in Dormill and Stiura. Her death would precipitate across the Isles as several would-be Hangs from "outer" cadet branches began vying for the throne. After the War of the Khas-Kirati Succession (also called Great Gael War in Gael, War of Contested Throne in Raedlon and Third Central Argus War in parts of Argus), the Khas-Kirat Empire's throne was passed to TBD of the Noronnican crown. TBD dissolved the empire and established the highly centralized Magarati Dominion under Noronnican administration.
Current Mgar pretenders
Samudera
There are several families in Samudera that claim descent from Gole Hang, the founder of Kilat Hangate. Among them, the most famous is the House of Banser, which was the last dynasty to rule the Kingdom of Samudera (the successor state of Hangate of Sanggar which itself was successor state to the Kilat Hangate). All of the surviving members of the Banser family have claims to the Khas-Kirat Empire as well as the Kingdom of Samudera.
TBD Banser members
Nhoor
In Nhoor, Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar and her children have claims to both the Dominion of Nhoor and the Khas-Kirat Empire. Her grandmother Anhí (1834 - 1888) was married to the Mgar prince Sheng Hang (1830 - 1925). Due to the Mgars favoring direct matrilineal inheritance while considering children of male members to be "outer families"; the couple's children became the cadet branch known today as the House of Cenharruc-Mgar (officially proclaimed by their second child and eldest son Armhad III after he became the King of Nhoor in 1898). During the Khas-Kirati War of Succession, Rhato's mother Calaví involved herself in the succession crisis despite other members of her family forbidding her to do so (as a dominion of Osean Empire of the Eastern Isles in Razzgriz, Nhoor was obliged to support the Osean Ran dynasty who had their own candidate vying for the title of Mahang). As punishment for embarrassing the nation in front of their Osean overlords and the international community with her unauthorized involvement, Calaví and her descendants were excluded from being in the line of succession to the throne of Nhoor and even exiled. The current pretenders from this particular line of Cenharruc-Mgar family are -
Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar: born in 1939 and pretender since 1988
Eldest Daughter of Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar: born in 1965
Daughter of Eldest Daughter of Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar: born in 1990
First Son of Daughter of Eldest Daughter of Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar:
Second Son of Daughter of Eldest Daughter of Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar:
Younger Daughter of Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar: born in 1972
Daughter of Younger Daughter of Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar: born in 1972
Son of Rhato Cenharruc-Mgar:
Mehis II of House Mgar-Ran, the current and acting Razz of the Grand Principality of Razzgriz, is another strong claimant to the title of Mahang.
Havalland
The descendants of King Hans III and Aspru; with the living ones being King Leon III of Havalland and his siblings along with the duchess of Turwick and her brother.

Cook him the same way.
Don't cook yourself though.
Legit can’t feel my arms rn. I’m beginning to see why this workout is called the Evil Russian Workout Program
On a side note, since Mokov is very fish-centric for local economies, I’ve been trying to find a flag with the sickle of the hammer and sickle replaced with a fish hook, would anyone be able to assist with my search???
Was that enough to qualify for a catgirl drawing?
If there's one thing from the national lockdown, the gov is planning to lift the porn ban so...people will stay at home.
Apparently India lifted their ban and that was deemed "successful in making people stay home" (and here we like to copy every goddamn thing India or China does...it's already been also announced that we will gave national lockdown as long as India has).
