Glorious leader Chernobog is the one true god.

Also, if you need a place to send repressed Catholics sometime before WWI, I'd be more than happy to take some.

You might need some. Even today, aside from Western Chatha, Catholicism is kind of banned everywhere else in AM.

I dunno why but I always saw Catholicism as not matching with "AM" (despite the fact that from 1000s to 1300s, it was once a Catholic majority nation). "Proselytizers" (that term includes anyone accused of doing so) are either fined, locked up in jails or both or even exiled.

What was the tag for Ainslie?

Ummn...has there ever been any case where Catholicism has become syncretic?

Voudou is Catholic++.

I think it's not that far off to say that in AM, 1/4th of the prisoners are Catholic priests, Muslim imams or Buddhist monks.

Y'all forgetting my boy Giant Flying Spaghetti Monster and his prophet, Big Nibba.

Me, Bigfoot, and some hippies go to our local Pastafarian temple every Sunday.

Dothrakia wrote:I was trying to have a situation where deities from one religion are adopted by another religion. For example, Hindu deities being adopted by Jainism where the founding religion might be Norse hence Odin as the king of gods, but they take Zeus and he is still a sky god, but not the king of gods.
And figuring out the beliefs/rituals/practices was part of what I was having trouble with. Coming from a not very religious family, I'm not really sure what I need, or where to start looking for a breakdown of what my religion would have in terms of rituals.

As Menna Shuli said, Hinduism and Jainism evolved side by side.

And also, "Hinduism" really is a very very vague word to be used as an example. Is "Hinduism" even a religion? Does it have just one god or 33 million? "Hindu atheists" are also a thing.

The Hindu dieties you mention are 90% more than anything likely to be ancestor gods/tribal dieties worshiped since millenia and later on assimilated into greater Vedic or Indus civilization.

Mahavir, the bloke who popularized Jainism from its status as a mere cult, didn't say he was introducing new gods. He imtroduced "new ways of life" and "new Dharmuc philosophies". Hence people who adopted Jain faith also kept on worshiping their ancestor gods/tribal dieties that had become part of Hindu pantheon.

Keep in mind that "Hinduism" itself is a term applied by British to "anyone who wasn't Christian or Moslem". In 18th Century (and even nowadays), Zoroastarians, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Bon followers, etc all would have been called "Hindus".

Athara magarat

All religions can be divided into four groups: Abrahamic, Dharmic, East Asian (would to be rude to call it Chinese I guess...) and Folk religions (compasses animism, paganism, shamanism, totemism, other -ism, etc).

Understanding the differences and similarities between these four is IMO essential to work on your own religions.

Fairly certain he's on vacation mode or something because he tends to go several weeks at a time without doing anything
