I’m more partial to axes, swords take to much work to use correctly.
Having been an observer, and frequently having discussions with my mother on that, I agree with the concept of the glass ceiling. But I’m more of mind that it’s a class or social standing then all one gender keeping the other out of power.

First of all, don't say that, and second of all, go to Psomewhere.

Ay...
Not that many men know how to use their sword correctly.
Honestly.

There’s a fencing academy down the road a ways that has women’s night once a week, so that the women can face off against people of their own size and builds. They seem to have a blast from the pictures I’ve seen. I get that’s not what you meant, but I figured I’d mention it

I think in a perfect world men and women would be equally free to objectify each other and we would all have enough economic security to choose the industry we would most like to work in, whether that be sex work or something else.
We are very far from that, so it is only sensible that we face the reality of unequal power distribution between the genders. I doubt inequality can be legislated away, but it is a tool to use while we very slowly work to change the social dynamic.
We also should take care when we talk about "men" and "patriarchy" to note that it is more about the value society places on masculine attributes than about individual men. Display of the attributes is usually rewarded and the gender that more easily conforms to these hyper masculine expectations reaps the greatest rewards. Men that fail to exhibit these traits can suffer consequences, and smashing or remolding the current social standards will also benefit them.

Not all men are sexist. I would consider myself a feminist.

An example of patriarchy: I have always been expected to do more chores than my brother, have been trained for many chores my brother hasn't, and am expected to tidy my brother's messes.
I just found a bowl of cereal milk in my brother's room that must have been left there for nearly a week. The patriarchy LITERALLY sickens me :P
