"We've seen this tactic many times. These voters are clearly scared that they have an unfavorable chance of losing, so they use strong arming to scare away countless potential voters. What we are seeing here is literal meddling of the votes, and the messing with democracy. We have seen violence unprecedented in such a country like Hansdeltania. Petrovic should be ashamed. His voters should be ashamed. What limits are their to break with these guys. They are literally doing acts of terrorism. Following a man who advocates for war crimes and using Lenneesheans for "cheap" labor is already a red flag, but to go this far means that something more sinister is happening. These people are literally blindly following Petrovic like a god...We've now had multiple cases of these follower killings and injuries. This is looking like a cult. I cannot overlook this at all. I send my condolences to Mr. Milonved and all of Hansdeltania. Stay brave."

Nathaniel Beck has also responded with an official statement,

"I put out my greatest condolences for those injured and killed in that terrorist attack on Hansdeltanian soil. Imagine a voter...the image of a functioning democracy. Knowing that their vote matters, and their vote is safe. Now picture these dozens of Hansdeltanians, all voting as they did years before—or new voters completely. Imagine those voters having their vote suppressed—not even by a government, but by violence of their own peers? Imagine being a parent, friend, or family member, being scared for your life to vote. This is an attack on democracy. The poll station should not become a battlefield. I hope that their police can help suppress these disgusting individuals, and help bring the voters' courage back to go and vote."

Those are the 2 candidates of the election. The results will come in a few days. Meanwhile, the 3 days of voting will take place, with hundreds of thousands of people going to polling stations. This is a very important election, as whatever happens to the union in this fragile state will change the rest of it’s history.

UBA Free Agency Starting—Key WBL Players up for grabs;
The Ulymeinen Basketball Association's Free Agency season has started. The league has opened up to the WBL basketball players around the world, and others who didn't make the cut to join the UBA.

Today is the day of the trial of the second friend of Thomas Mellen, today the family will know the truth but first a few words from the Minister of Justice, Susana Hoggins.

The judge shows the captures to the second friend and his lawyer, the second friend defends himself saying that he never fought with Thomas but the first friend tells exactly what happened

The first friend, no longer with which to defend himself, confesses saying that he hired the second suspect (the one who committed suicide) to kidnap Thomas and give his parents a heart attack because they disliked him, but he never said that kill him.

The prosecutor, in his plea for a relatively short trial, asks that the second friend be given psychological help and that the heads of the company where the suicide works are imprisoned for a life sentence, since it is a company of kidnappers.

Finally, the judge sentenced the second friend to 6 months in prison and the heads of the kidnapping company to life imprisonment, along with the closure of it.

People rise from their seats and applaud, then quickly leave as the police take Thomas' friend away and the search for the bosses of that company begins.

Tensions Flare on Eve of Referendum

Tensions have hit an all time high as Uljenphis take to the streets. Reports from across the islands indicate chaos in urban centers. Organized rallies have descended into mobs, and have taken to marching down city streets. Mobs of different political leanings have engaged each other in vocal attacks and occasional skirmishes. The largest observed skirmish occurred in Chomquep, where two mobs briefly engaged in an all out brawl. Only with the arrival of city politicians did the situation deescalate. While many walked away with bruises and sore fists, none were wounded or killed in the fighting.

The referendum on foreign relations is not a new concept. It's been customary for a newly elected Nationale to host a referendum on the topic. Almost every new Nationale, excluding the Foreigner Referendum of 1993, has held a similar referendum within a year of taking office. With the election this year, the Nationale was undoubtedly planning another referendum, which was confirmed by National Ambassador Fayzut Quacurt at a press conference two weeks ago. Ever since, Uljenphi citizens passionate about the referendum have expressed political discourse in a variety of fashions.

Yet, as the days passed, the discourse has devolved more and more into what former Comquep City Councillor Premelt Hibs described as "… entrenched shouting matches, fueled by ignorance and inflexibility." While relatively peaceful in rural communities, the opposite could only be said for urban centers. Large rallies, hosting thousands of people, cheered local leaders on, and jeered any opposition. While open conflict was avoided until now, instances of hostility in the workplace, in schools, and even within families due to political division have skyrocketed. Bipartisan efforts to quell the division have been met with little success. As one citizen said, "If this is the situation before the polls open, I can't imagine the disaster that'll unfold this weekend."

Religious individuals within the nation have to conceal their religious items from public view, no religion can be promoted in the public, and many times, some people apart of the religious population accidentally let it slip, and find themselves behind bars. The only place where religion can take place is government sponsored private buildings for popular religions, such as Catholicism, Orthoxody, Judaism, Islam, and many such cases. No minor religions find themselves with representation.

The motive for this state-sponsored atheism is clear. The Communist Party of Oceania sees religion as getting in the way of unifying the peoples and causing disorder in the nation. That is their personal belief. As the human rights of religious peoples tighten and tighten as more laws pass, discontent has been shown by the population, even those who are atheist believe the Party is starting to inch towards human rights violations.
