OOC: The Roleplay has Officially Started!
Read the Rules Before Posting Anything Here. (Illegal RP posts will be suppressed.)
...1. Technology will be limited to early Postmodern Technology (henceforth "early PMT").
1A. Early PMT is defined as all technologies that have existed in the real world to date and foreseeable technologies up to fifty (50) years into the future. Allowable examples include ship-based railguns, lasers not exceeding the ten-terawatt (10TW; ten trillion watts) range, autonomous weapons, nuclear fusion, and space launch mass drivers. Prohibited examples include but are not limited to plasma-based weaponry, energy shields, starships, starfighters and other similar spacecraft, and orbital weapons platforms using energy-based weapons like plasma or lasers. (Orbital platforms that fire physical warheads like the W87 warhead or tungsten rods are allowed but may be restricted by international law in RPs.)
1B. Players may have their nations' technology levels below early PMT, though it may be disadvantageous to have ancient weaponry.
1C. All technology must be grounded in science. Magic, sorcery, divine intervention, and other forms of mythical and mystical power will be prohibited.
1D. All technology is fallible; no weapon will have a 100-percent hit rate, no armor will stop 100 percent of all rounds fired at it, no bombs dropped will hit their exact coordinates.
2. RPs will occur on The Roleplaying Paradise ("RPP") regional message board.
2A. All RMB posts on the RPP must pertain to roleplay posts
3. RPs involving wars or military action are prohibited unless:
3A. Both parties consent.
3B. War or military action is a response to the actions of another nation.
It is generally frowned upon to take military action immediately on smaller issues like one nation detaining another's citizen or citizens.
3C. War is used to annex an expired nation's territory.
4. Players will make up their own statistics as their canon in the FNR.
4A. NationStates statistics (NS stats) will be ignored.
NS stats include the population, economic output, and causes of death (people) on a nation's main page.
4B. These statistics must be realistic compared to their nation size on the map. A player's nation cannot have a population of 500 million if its map location is the British isles.
5. Players must accept the consequences of their nations' actions in RP.
6A. Internal RPs include but are not restricted to the day-to-day lives of citizens, government affairs, and military operations within home country borders.
6B. Players must have their map location confirmed by the Cartographer (i.e. acknowledging that their request has been received) for basic international RP.
"Basic" international RP is defined as establishing diplomatic relations with other nations and trading.
6C. Players must have a published map spot for advanced international RP.
"Advanced" international RP is defined as (but not limited to) military action between two or more parties, hosting international summits, and day-to-day interactions between two nations.
6D. Players wishing to participate in military, war, or conflict RPs must have a factbook or dispatch detailing the following:
total number of active-duty personnel in each branch
total number of land vehicles of each type (e.g. tanks, armored cars, etc.)
total number of aircraft of each type (e.g. fighters, bombers, helicopters, transports, etc.)
total number of ships and boats of each type (e.g. destroyers, patrol boats, submarines, aircraft carriers, etc.)
7. Godmodding and metagaming are prohibited.
Godmodding is defined as taking control of another player's characters.
Exceptions are limited to those of nations that have ceased to exist.
Metagaming is defined as taking out of character knowledge and applying it to the RP.
Example: Nation A makes a post about secret war plans to take on its neighbors B, C, and D. The post has a note that only certain officials of Nation A know about those war plans. If B goes to war and almost perfectly counters A's war plans against B, that qualifies as metagaming.
8. Players' nations do not have to be democratic.
9. Nations will be human-only. Nations with non-human populations will be banned from the map.
10. Players may briefly take control of other players for the sake of advancing the plot. The following guidelines will be the set way of provisional godmodding:
The Primary Actor is the nation or entity making the initial or primary action.
The Secondary Actor is the nation or entity to which the initial or primary action is directed at.
The Secondary Actor is required, at all times, to respond to the Primary Actor, except when the Primary Actor has breached Rule 3A.
The Primary Actor may invoke a provisional godmod if, within the past 36 hours, the Secondary Actor's most recent government activity (i.e. the most recent activity on NationStates) was after the initial action.
This may be waived if the Secondary Actor promises to respond by a certain date.
Example: Nation A makes a post where Nation B is the target at 00:00 midnight, Day 1. If Nation B's most recent government activity is 02:00, Day 1, Nation B must respond before 12:00 noon, Day 2 before Nation A can invoke provisional godmodding.
The Primary Actor may invoke provisional godmodding 60 hours after the initial post if the Secondary Actor's most recent government activity was before the initial post.
Example: Nation B was last active at 09:00, Day 1. Nation A makes the initial post directed at Nation B at 11:59 before noon, Day 1. Nation B must respond by 23:59, Day 3.
10. Roleplayers should attempt to consolidate all posts into one message.
Players who refuse to comply with these measures may be banned from RP indefinitely.
Only Nations in this RP Map can start Roleplaying.
Fill out the application to request a map spot. The Cartographer reserves the right to ignore all requests not in the attached application.

Map rules:
Players must post as their nations (in-character/IC or roleplay/RP) at least once every 28 days in the Roleplaying Paradise. If it has been 28 days since the last IC or RP post, or a nation has ceased to exist, the nation can be considered inactive.
Nations that become inactive for more than seven (7) days are considered "expired" and may be annexed by other nations. Expired nations will be colored light gray on the map with red lettering.
The 7-day period between inactivity and expiration is to allow for other players to watch how the geopolitical situation goes and for the player to reactivate the nation that ceased to exist.
Nations will be considered expired 36 days after their previous IC or RP post or 7 days after the nation ceased to exist, whichever comes first.
Nations that have been expired for more than seven (7) days after they are considered expired will be considered removed from the map, regardless of whether the map actually shows as such.
Annexation should be a war RP (but does not have to be) between the annexing nation and the expired nation. Other nations may intervene as they see fit.
If seven (7) days pass after the start of annexation and no other nations have intervened militarily against the annexing nation, the annexing nation may declare victory.
Upon the annexing nation declaring victory, the expired nation will be relabeled to indicate that it has been occupied.
Annexing nations must occupy an expired nation's land for at least one (1) week before they can begin fully integrating it.
If war breaks out as a result of annexation and the annexing nation is victorious against other intervening nations, the annexing nation may declare victory against the annexed nation three (3) days after declaring victory against other interventions.
Approved military factbooks are required for military-based annexations.
If both the annexing and the expired nation are on the same landmass but do not share a border, the expired nation will not be integrated upon victory.
If the annexing nation and the expired nation are on two separate landmasses (e.g. island vs continent), the annexing nation must occupy the expired nation for at least eleven (11) days before it can declare victory or total occupation. However, nations may not integrate territories on separate continents nor annex expired nations more than two thousand (2,000) miles (3,200 kilometers) away.
Unintegrated territories may not contribute to a nation's total population or military personnel.
If a nation has been expired for more than seven (7) days and no annexation efforts have been made, it will be considered removed from the map, regardless of what the map actually shows.
New nations will be restricted to a size of no more than 2,000 miles (3,200 kilometers) from east-to-west and 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers) north to south.
Players who expired and returned to find their nation annexed will be entitled to an automatic successful liberation of their former map spot one time only. This free liberation pass is only if the expired nation has been integrated for less than one (1) month or was notably important in RP as determined by lore moderators. Alternatively, formerly expired players may continue roleplaying as a territory of the occupying nation.
White/blank space is off limits for invasion.
Nations must wait at least two (2) weeks after their last annexation attempt has been fully integrated (or aborted, depending on RP outcome) before starting another invasion and annexation.
Nations who depart the region without notice may have their territories marked as expired immediately.
When filling out the application, nations must specify their desired location and size. Vague answers, including but not limited to "anywhere" or "wherever," are grounds for rejection.
Repeated expirations and reinstatement of territory is grounds for permanent removal from the map.
New nations who do not make an RP post within two (2) weeks of a map update will be removed. It is recommended, but not required, that new nations who have received a notice of approval for the map begin posting in the Roleplay Paradise as soon as possible.
Nations may only annex one expired nation at a time.
If a nation annexes an expired nation that has overseas territories, those overseas territories will not be part of the annexing nation.
The map is only for visualizing the current geopolitical situation; the age of RP posts will determine whether or not a particular nation is active, inactive, expired, or nonexistent.
Players may have up to two (2) puppet nations on the map within a timeframe of two (2) months. These puppet nations will be subject to the same expiration and annexation rules as other nations, with the only exception being that the player's main nation may not annex them. Additionally, they may not share land borders.
Players may request a leave of absence from the Cartographer on the Roleplaying Paradise Discord server in the #cartographic-advisories channel. By default, a leave of absence will make a nation become inactive after five (5) weeks without a roleplay post and expire the nation two (2) weeks after inactivity for a total of seven (7) weeks from beginning leave of absence to start of expiration. However, players may request a specific date for a leave of absence to end, after which the nation(s) will transition to standard inactivity and expiration rules.
Requests for leaves of absence are permitted but not recommended for periods of less than 28 days.
Map design regulations:
The designated font is Cambria, pure black (RGB code 0, 0, 0) or pure white (RGB code 255, 255, 255) depending on the nation's color. All text should fit on one line, but if the size of the landmass makes such a task impossible, multiple lines are allowed. Text will be italicized for player-controlled nations and unformatted for overseas territories. Expired nations will have their pretitles, if included, removed; the font color to be used is red (RGB code 237, 28, 36).
The map is to be edited with a program that allows for disabling antialiasing must be disabled to avoid stray pixels, e.g. Microsoft Paint or paint.net.
The colors to be used on the map will be limited to the basic color palette of the program used. Colors of countries on the map should be similar to that of their flag, but the Cartographer reserves the right to choose another color if neighboring nations do not permit as such. No nations bordering each other may have the same colors. Expired nations will be in light gray (RGB code 195, 195, 195) and bordering expired nations may have the same color.
Oceans and other bodies of water will be light turquoise (RGB code 153, 217, 234). Names of bodies of water will be turquoise (RGB code 0, 162, 232).

Major Aleksandr Kolenko's sleek, spearhead-shaped F-12BH Iron Blackbird, callsign Phoenix 21, soared over southern North Deltania, heading southeast towards Heierlark Air Force Base in northeastern Osea. In the backseat was 1st Lieutenant Alexei Priabin, who had earned his wings less than two weeks before. At 87,000 feet, Kolenko could see even the southern coastline.
You know what? he thought. We bad.
Since they were at 87,000 feet, they were well above Hansdeltanian Class A airspace. In other words, they really were not in Hansdeltania and were only connected to Deltania Air Traffic Control Center for monitoring purposes only. Everything that came across Deltania Center's frequencies was heard in the Blackbird's cockpit.
"Deltania Center, Cessna 36-Mike requests a ground speed check," Kolenko heard.
"Cessna 36-Mike, Deltania Center. I read you at one hundred—one-zero-zero—knots at two thousand, five hundred."
The radios were silent for about a minute before the next transmission came.
"Deltania Center, Beech Baron 62-Charlie requesting ground speed check," came a slightly arrogant voice.
"Baron 62-Charlie, I show one-forty—one-four-zero—knots at eight thousand," was the reply, in the same cool voice as before.
What the hell is it with these ground speed checks? Kolenko pondered. A good majority of those Barons have G1000s, so there's no need to get a speed check from Center!
Barely two minutes had passed when Kolenko heard a third voice ask Deltania Center for a ground speed check. This time, it was a Hansdeltanian Airways Boeing 777-9.
"Hansdeltanian Heavy 263, I show your Boeing 777-10 at three-fifty—three-five-zero—knots at flight level one-niner-zero."
This is bullsh*t. There is absolutely no way in hell that that multimillion-hansdeltano airliner doesn't have a ground speed indicator. Kolenko was fuming now. Oh, I get it. He wants to show off his speed, what that 250-foot airplane can do. He reached for the radio controls but was stopped when he realized that Priabin was in charge of the radios. God dammit...
Yet another voice came through the radio five minutes later.
"Deltania Center, Spike 36 requests ground speed check." Kolenko instantly recognized that voice to be of a Marine Corps pilot, most likely flying an AV-8BH Iron Harrier attack jet. Spike's crisp yet arrogant tone revealed it all.
"Spike 36, Deltania Center. I read five hundred—five-zero-zero—knots at flight level two-two-zero." Kolenko took a deep breath and reluctantly decided to let Priabin maintain the radios.
No more than ninety seconds had passed when an arrogant and slightly rude Navy pilot came over the radio.
"Deltania Center, Dusty 52, requesting ground speed check."
"Dusty 52, this is Deltania Center. I show you and your F-14 Tomcat at six-twenty—six-two-zero—knots across the ground at flight level three-two-zero."
Dammit! Kolenko screamed in his head while reaching towards the radios. That's the Navy! The Navy must die!
Then, he pulled his hand away. No, that's Alexei's job. I have to fly the airplane.
His hand balled up into a fist. Dammit, f*ck that Navy guy and his Tomcat! They must die! We're about to get handed off!
Suddenly, his Blackbird's radios clicked. First Lieutenant Alexei Priabin spoke over the radio in a very innocent voice not unlike a student pilot during his first solo.
"Deltania Center, Phoenix 21 requests a ground speed check." Kolenko suddenly erupted into an uproarious guffaw, and since he was not connected to the radios, no one, save for Priabin, heard him.
There was an abnormally long pause after Priabin's transmission. Kolenko swore he heard muffled laughter in the background.
Deltania Center, in the same cool voice as always, replied back.
"Phoenix 21, Deltania Center. I show you at 1,987—one-niner-eight-seven—knots across the ground at flight level eight-seven-zero."
"Uh, Deltania Center, Phoenix 21 copies. We're showing closer to, uh, 2,000...on the money."
"Copy, Phoenix 21. Your stuff's probably more accurate than ours. You guys have a good one now. Contact Directus Center on 128.45."
"Phoenix 21, roger. Switching to 128.45..."

All players, regardless of map spot or not, may do internal RPs; i.e. RPs involving their nation within their nations.
Players who have map spots confirmed (i.e. from the Cartographer saying that they have been added to the map) may do limited international RPs and internal RPs.

Good Morning! My fellow South Asians,
We all know that one year ago, our government was couped by the RSS which caused an economy crisis in our country. They even assassinated my father, destroyed the parliamentary house, killed members of our party, destroyed buildings and murdered hundreds of people belonging to religious minorites. What they have done is truly condemnable, it has badly affected the lives of 6 million people of our country. RSS has been officially banned as an organisation by our Supreme Court their leaders have been arrested. Our Central Bureau of Investigation is Investigating this whole incident as it might be influenced by other organisations.
I would like to convey my condolences to the families of all the people who lost their lives in this incident. I announce that two members of each victim's family will get a government job.
I would like to applaud the work done by our engineers and architectures in the reconstruction of all the destroyed buildings in such a short time they have made our country as it was a year ago.
The coup occurred not only because of our intelligence failure. There was a role of our youth in this coup. Thousands of young people were brainwashed by the propaganda of those Far-Right Organisations which caused this coup. As a citizen of this great nation, we should remember that our nation isn't just for one particular religion whether it is Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism or Christianity. Our country was formed as a Secular Nation and everyone has the right to follow whatever religion they want to. Don't form your opinion based on the propaganda messages they send in your Whatsapp each day, Think Rationally about what's Right and What's Wrong. RSS wanted to purge all the Non-Hindus from UNSA but their plan was spoiled by our Army. RSS call themselves the "protector of Hinduism" but more Hindus lost their lives in this coup than any other religion. I would like to request all the Hindus to stop falling into those traps of "Hindutva". Our Religious Texts whether it is Bhagwad Gita or the Vedas has told us that violence does more harm than good.
Now that we have completely emerged from the crisis in our nation. I announce our financial budget for this year. The Government has officially made the education free till Eighth Grade and the fees in Government Colleges and other institutions will be 50% less. We will increase taxes in cigarettes, alcohol and cannabis. Government Hospitals will charge 50% less to the patients. We are developing our Health and Education sectors by decreasing our funds in Military and Industrial Sector. We are also working on agricultural welfare by providing our farmers with government lands and other necessary instruments for farming to make them capable.
We are in a process of launching a mass campaign against unemployment that will empower our youth and will create a lot of jobs in our country. Our Goal is to boost our productivity and economy of our country in the next four years.

Staff Sergeant Alexander Vansolgin, Hansdeltanian Federal Air Force, was in his last flight of Recruits as a Basic Military Training Instructor, where he took Recruits and molded them into more malleable future Airmen. Just ten more weeks and he could go home. Just a little more than two days ago, his newest and last flight reported in for their BMT. Now, his Recruits were out in the cold parade ground in physical training gear—t-shirt, shorts, and running shoes.
Twelve minutes had passed since Vansolgin's Recruits were roused from their slumber by his Assistant Military Instructor, Senior Airman Pavel Pasternak, via a manual military alarm clock—better known to civilians as a metal trash can and a stick. From that point, they were give fifteen minutes to change, brush their teeth, make their beds (racks in military parlance), put everything that they would not need inside their footlockers (the daily schedule was posted so Recruits could have at least a general idea of what the day's events were to be), pack the things they would need, and fall into formation before Reveille.
The procedure when Reveille happened was for one to stand at parade rest facing the bugler's or music's direction if he or she was not in formation. When the music started playing, all of Vansolgin's flight stood at parade rest...except one; he was in the doorway when the bugler started playing, and his PT uniform looked sloppy with an untucked shirt.
The First Sergeant was at front and center of the squadron. Vansolgin's Foxtrot Flight was no less than eighty yards away from the First Sergeant...and they could hear him pretty well.
"INSTRUCTORS! YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO INSTRUCT YOUR RECRUITS ON THE PROCEDURES OF BASIC MILITARY TRAINING!" At that range, it seemed like someone was having a conversation about three feet away.
Vansolgin performed an about-face. Immediately, he saw the tardy recruit try to sneak into his flight.
"RECRUIT FELINSKY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"
"I don't know, Sir!" Felinsky replied back, a nervous tone in his voice.
"You don't know?" the Sergeant said, almost whispering. "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE DOING?!"
"No, sir!"
"Well, Felinsky, here's what you're doing!" Vansolgin marched over to the nervous recruit. "FELINSKY, YOU JUST TRIED TO ENTER MY GODDAMN FLIGHT WITHOUT ASKING FOR PERMISSION, YOU WERE LATE, AND YOUR UNIFORM STANDARD IS PATHETIC!" Then, he leaned in extremely close, so close that Vansolgin's campaign cover was almost touching Felinsky's cover's bill. "GET ON YOUR FACE AND DO FIFTY!" Felinsky meekly complied and attempted to do fifty.
While SrA Pasternak supervised Felinsky's punishment, Vansolgin addressed his flight.
"GOOD MORNING, RECRUITS!"
"GOOD MORNING, SIR!" they yelled back in unison.
"AT EASE!" he ordered. "For the last two days, I have been very casual. I allowed you to address me as 'Sergeant,' 'Sir,' or even simply 'Sarge.' You were allowed to refer to yourself using the first-person pronouns of 'I,' 'My,' 'Us,' and 'We.' If you needed to refer to me directly, you said 'you' and if it belonged to me, it was 'your.' You could volunteer to speak.
"However, that will change, effective immediately.
"FIRST OF ALL! The first and last words out of your filthy sewers will be 'Sir'! Do you maggots understand that?"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? A F*CKING MOUSE COULD REPEAT WHAT YOU JUST SAID A MILE AWAY AND I CAN STILL HEAR FROM IT BETTER FROM YOU!"
"SIR, YES, SIR!"
"We'll work on that. Secondly, to build your sorry asses up as a team, there is no more 'me' or 'my' or 'you' or 'his.' You will refer to yourselves as 'The Recruit.' You will refer to me or any other MTIs as 'The Military Training Instructor'. Is that understood?"
"SIR, YES, SIR!"
"GODDAMMIT, IF YOU ALL REPEATED THAT THROUGH A GODDAMN MEGAPHONE I STILL WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HEAR YOU!
"Thirdly, there will be no more 'rest' commands. You will speak when you are spoken to. Is that understood?"
"SIR, YES, SIR!"
Vansolgin looked at Felinsky again. "Airman Pasternak, how many was that?"
"Sir, Recruit Felinsky has performed twenty-six pushups, sir!"
"One more thing. Effective immediately, if a fellow Recruit screws up and your Instructors catch that, all of you will be getting punished. I don't care if one boot is bloused lower than the other or if a recruit is fidgeting too much. Is that understood?"
"SIR, YES, SIR!"
Vansolgin shot one more cold glare at Felinsky. "Find a wingman and have him help you fix your uniform when out of formation. The next time this happens, I will look the other way if you get your ass whupped just because you can't wear the uniform properly. Fall in last man, second element."
"Sir, yes, sir," he gasped. Vansolgin waited for the First Sergeant to give the flights full reign on the morning's duties.

Summit between Friesenland and Saint hal
Next weekend, the long-awaited summit of the leaders of Friesenland and Saint Hal will take place in Dorestad. The Queen of Friesenland and the Commander of Saint Hal will sign the Free Trade Agreement and Customs Union Treaty. Another agreement also seals the defense alliance between the two states.
Meanwhile, the Frisian capital Dorestad prepares for the high visit with extended security measures.
The planned contracts are preceded by a long period of negotiations. "This is a historic step and a signal for the peoples of the world!" said Prime Minister Harm Poppinga in a speech to parliament today. It is hoped that other states in Eporue will join the agreement.

Manoresca joins the Eporue Treaty!
Shortly before the meeting of the leaders of Saint Hal and Friesenland, the Kingdom of Manoresca has now decided to join the free trade agreement, the customs union and the defense alliance, negotiated by Saint hal and Friesenland. The contracts, which have now been merged under the name Eporue Treaty, could thus become the nucleus of a new economic and security structure in Eporue.

The Commander-in-Chief of Saint Hal has announced to the county that he will be attending a meeting with the leader of Friesenland (edit: now including leader of the Kingdom of Manoresca) on trade agreements, customs, and defense. The contracts, which have now went been merged under the name Eporue Treaty, could thus become the nucleus of a new economic and security structure in Eporue.
The Department of Defense has authorized the Air Force to decommission 150 of its F-4EH Iron Phantom fleet. These units will be authorized for sale within the next week.
All nations around the world that are currently not at war with the Federal Union may inquire about the purchase of a number of these thirty-year-old multirole fighters with AMRAAM, JDAM, and Sidewinder-X capabilities.

Normandy-calias joins the signatories
A day before the official signing of the Eporue Treaty, the government of Normandy-Calias has decided to join the treaty. This increases the number of founding nations to four. Previously, Friesenland, Saint hal and Manoresca had already decided to enter into the contract.
