Three-ish years ago, I read two of his books and reviewed them on the RMB, not super positively. As I aspire to be an author, and have very low self esteem, they are some examples of books I feel reasonably certain I can actually do better than (not that I have so far). Some interesting ideas in them, but Jennifer Government could've been a five page short story. Lexicon was fine.
I think those reviews I wrote exposed how very not well-read I am. I'm more into movies than books.

Edit: Also, nationstates was a marketing scheme for his first book. How many websites created to market some book or movie are still even up just ten years later? This site is a huge success.
