RP: A Sickness Spreads Pt 1

In the East of the Federation, a sickness begins to spread. It seems mild, causing the infected to feel exhausted, coughing and sneezing, and induces a feeling of nausea. Alongside mild symptoms, it seems to spread slowly.

And unfortunately for Baltocarpathia, this sickness is on the island they occupy.

Currently, the symptoms only last for around a week, before seemingly dissappearing, although most people seem to have a long lasting caugh even afterwards.

RP: Darker Hours (2017s)
Kemonomica (Honolulu) Special Military Operation

Otarange Suppression (Province)
As forces push through Sauvaki an opening to Otarange was inevitable, a region rife with Militia and other unsavory folk, it was a secondary objective for the Remant JCD forces, but with the the Otyken New Administration effectively washing their hands of collaborating with the SI the JCD Remnant made a choice to maintain the offensive and crush Otarange. Some destroyers with specialized UUVs to intercept aquatic species would move in to conduct Anti-Ship action, but also Cruise Missile strikes aiming for infrastructure, industry and possible/known militia positions from the near constant drone surveillance and strikes that occur in the region, the entire 32nd Mountain Brigade delegated to this task while a whole JCD division was given the objective of seizing Marina to 'stabilize' it. Otykens forces were primarily down in the southern regions because the north was harder to traverse and seen activity primarily from the remnant JCAF conducting their strikes.

Mountains of Otarange: The region became hell for the 32nd Mountain Brigade, not just because of the treacherous terrain, but because it was a smuggling area and highly ideal for insurgents to fight in and they knew it well. Despite Helicopter and Drone support the Brigade was suffering notable Casualties, various tunnels, and routes got demolished by the Brigade and insurgents killed, but the operation found itself to be an upward climb both literally and figuratively with most of the actual progress being achieved by operators in command trucks back at Sauvaki striking caches and tunnels, the Brigade often found most of its success during night time utilizing thermals on the drones to coordinate raids.

Siege of Marina (City of Otarange)
The division was to utilize primarily armor vehicles against possible Insurgents with support of a fighter and drone squadron for Close-Air and Reconnaissance all of it transported in along the coast by ships and dismounted. The siege began with 8 bombers flying with an escort of 16 planes releasing explosives on the port at Marina, Otyken didn't wish to capture it and wanted any power projection or threats up in flames that may be docked there. The Remnant JCD according to recon fly overs found a larger force than mere Insurgents and were relieved to have brought such a huge assortment of gear for the task, the city rocked by the previous explosions would experience heavy shelling from artillery guns, mlrs, and mortars as the JCD dismantled threats followed by storming the city with Mechanized Infantry and Armor to bring the hammer down on threats with Infantry behind them to secure the city and root out insurgents in urban warfare, all arms of the assault supported by Close-Air. The city was reasonably sized, so they expected a long siege and established logistics routes to keep fuel and munitions flowing, though they had more than enough manpower at the site for task at around one soldier for every ninety civilians an occupation could easily be sustained should the city fell, the resistance far more fierce and advanced than the angry insurgents in the savannah.

Genocide in Sauvaki
Over the course of several months the SI Spirit Office opened a plethora of new camps, increasingly larger and more deadly, Kill Teams were sent out to round people up perform summary execution and put them into large transports or railcar to move them to various camps, often splitting them up from families or other ties that could cause uprisings. The actual state of Otyken was disgusted by what was happening here, but turned a blind eye justifying it with national security as they could have a horde of terrorists pouring into the industrial zone in the near future and this expanse of savannah was to become a tomb of leveled towns, destroyed infrastructure, and mass graves. The legal arm of the new regime of Otyken was contemplating a mass execution of those that were actually participating in the genocide to wash their hands of the sadists once the task was done. Any legitimate arms of Otykens armed forces ceased to assist and it became entirely Paramilitary based as enemy militia and military targets had become very sparse. The region soon capitulated and was under the occupation of the State of Otyken.

Death Camps and Drone Strikes Casualties
Civilians: ~75,000
Militia: ~30,000

Friendly Fire Incident (Honoluite Technate)
In a strategic recalibration, Otyken ceased hostilities upon recognizing that the Honulite Technate, despite being heavily bombarded, remained their sole potential ally amidst the turmoil. Without offering an apology for the previous aggression, Otyken pledged support to assist in stabilizing the state of Honolulu and recognized them as the legitimate state. To this end, Otyken expedited a substantial consignment of military equipment to the Honoluite Technate. The delivery, executed via airdrops and RO ships, included unguided rocket artillery, firearms, mortars, armored vehicles, grenades, and a cache of ammunition. Additionally, supplies tailored for guerrilla warfare were provided to bolster the Absukian's defensive capabilities. This unilateral action underscored Otyken's commitment to forging an alliance, albeit without prior consent, effectively equipping the Honoluite Technate for the challenges ahead.

Something in Common (2nd Socialist Fedaral Republic)
Otyken offered support to SFRH especially after the 'misunderstanding' with the Technate faction, particularly fond of this group simply because of Ideological alignment, Otyken was a firm believer on the leftist principals of Tengernia and wanted to see them succeed. Instead of simply assuming the Director sent a letter of interest and asked how they can help. Almost as good as the state owing a favor they instead offered assistance.

RP: Rolling Back

Siege of Gannat (January-April 2017)
Gannat was a larger city, as was more common the farther one pushed into the southern section of Brennus. Led into via the A-83, the city ran quite close to the coastline and was thus privy to a few excellent natural tourism spots regarding the marshes. Although this wasn’t tourism, the route leading into the swampy coastal areas would prove to be less than accommodating to the advancing Otykenese. They found this out the hard way courtesy of a few thousand Marines engaging in a blocking campaign to limit routes of attack the Oscars could take advancing towards the city. Not to mention the required river crossing, which was easily at a glance simply not worth attempting as Brennian brown water assets prowled up and down its length, using Gannat’s small port to shelter and resupply. Once it held a small detachment of patrol boats and a few corvettes, who had since been evacuated farther east so as to not waste potentially useful assets. This small expedition proved to be annoying and a slight mistake that cost them a few expensive assets, it was, however, far from a crippling disadvantage as the city was still bare and exposed from essentially every other direction.

It wouldn’t be easy, but with sheer weight of numbers and equipment the day was sure to be won, with the Brennians running out of places to retreat to as more and more important cities began to dot the horizon, so close to within reach of Otyken. Although focusing on the objective at hand, there were three routes the Otykenese could try and take. Two involved capturing the towns of Pluguffan and Plonéis to plunge directly down the centerline of the city, and the other was a wide flanking maneuver through the town of Guengat. This northern route was complicated by the Stangala Valley, a densely wooded valley-swamp that stretched a good ways back from the eastern and northern sides of Gannat. Any attempt to punch through the valley itself would no doubt end in a muddy disaster, and a flanking attack all the way around would take time, far too much time. Not to mention it would stretch Otykenese forces thin and leave them open to constant counterattacks and ambushes. Even combined with a centerline attack there was a real chance the Brennians would simply be gone once the flanking maneuver had finally forced its way through.

This left Pluguffan and Plonéis the only truly viable options for an assault on the city and would necessitate an eye watering amount of bombardment to make the urban center even remotely assailable. Still the plan went through and the battle for the two smaller towns/cities began in early January of 2017. Plonéis was farthest from the city proper, constituting a 5 mile gap but still useful for a two pronged advance to hit both the western and northwestern sections of the city. Brennian forces in Guengat quickly withdrew preemptively as the battle began, saving their strength for later engagements and to avoid themselves being cut off and destroyed by the advancing Oscars. Plonéis itself was longer than it was wide, with two roads running down the middle and along the south side of the small city respectively. These were flanked the entire way by lines and lines of trees and hedges, making for uncomfortably tight advances and far too many opportunities to spring an ambush. Though few were sprung, with the defenders far too busy with the rest of the town at large.

The Otykenese were able to use this to their advantage, rolling around along the south side and pushing upward to squeeze remaining resistance out. This worked essentially perfectly, and of the original 2,000 defenders, only 500 made it out with the rest wounded, killed or captured. Though there was a noticeable change in demeanor for defending Republic forces, they seemed far less willing to give up land, which threw the Otykenese slightly off balance as they were used to the Brennians breaking and running intentionally to draw them into another meat grinder. Clearly they were still intent on making every battle as bloody as possible, but were trying to harden their line and prevent the Otykenese from advancing any further, evident in a number of northern counterattacks courtesy of the retreating Guengat force, who scooped up the survivors and promptly skittered away. Their plan had failed this time due to a tactical blunder, which allowed the Oscars to break through far quicker than anticipated, the Brennians still clearly weren’t fully adjusted to the sheer number of Otykenese soldiers present and active.

Victory at Plonéis allowed Pluguffan to be captured rather quickly as well, the Brennian defenders now facing attacks from the west, north, and surprisingly, the air. Recent intensified air combat had tied up most BAF aircraft in intercepting bombers and keeping the industrial centers safe, which allowed Otyken to use paratroopers to aid in capturing Pluguffan. There was a small, regional airport that was being used to house a number of AO-10 wings in support of SOF forces, which had been mostly evacuated before hostilities for Gannat had begun in earnest. While it could not hold a large number of combat aircraft nor the exceptionally large strategic airlift aircraft both armies used, it was an optimal helicopter base and touch off point for other types of fixed and rotor wing machines. With no real anti-air to speak of in the immediate area the Brennians were more or less hopeless to shoot the aircraft down, and were now forced to contend with three directions of attack. This made the engagement more of a fighting retreat than a battle, the 1,500 defenders routing piecemeal back to Gannat itself to harden it against the oncoming wave. These engagements were not all that long lasting and were far more damaging to the Brennians for once. Gannat would have to stand alone, and for the rest of January and April it would.

With Pluguffan taken it was a four mile dash to cover the distance to the city proper, the entire stretch of it covered in patches of forest and hedgerows the Otykenese had come to detest with every fiber of their being. Small groups of infantry, usually at the platoon level would move from row to row, forest to forest, harassing their attackers the entire way in gunfights that would sometimes last hours of time. A light tank formation attached to a retreating recon formation out of Guengat would make themselves known in these early stages of the war, their short barreled 120mm ETC guns tearing apart most of what they faced, even proper battle tanks themselves. They took little in the way of casualties themselves, and would stay for the duration of the engagement as they fell back into the cramped confines of Gannat’s city streets. In the westernmost sections of the city, a small collection of apartments became a nightmare for Otykenese troops, the densely packed buildings proving quite resistant to artillery fire through mass alone as well as allowing disparate groups to move behind it under cover fire to routinely hit the flank of the advancing enemy. 13,000 men held the city in their way and they did not intend to break.

Unfortunately the fate of these western forces was sealed as the advance continued, a failed blocking effort getting the force of 1,500 men completely cut off from the rest of the city. Over the next week or so they were slowly eliminated as the Otykenese continued to advance deeper into the city. Their assailants could afford tactical blunders, they could afford to have their pushes cut off, surrounded and destroyed regularly because they could simply throw another wave at it. Eventually something was going to give, with that something eventually being a museum of pottery, stripped clean of course. It signaled the enemies crossing of the river cutting the city center off from the rest of the urban sprawl, and anything south of that imaginary line was now completely on their own. As a result the defense collapsed over the remaining month, and handed the Brennians their first real defeat of the war, something they did not intend, and a gap in the line that was not meant to bend now bent beyond repair. The advance was halted going into May but only barely by the remains of the original 13,000 men, the recon armor group, and a few other small detachments of soldiers assigned to act as buffers in the various towns and villages surrounding Gannat. 7,000 Brennians had been killed or wounded in the fighting for the city, a casualty ratio over 50%, and the sting was being felt badly.

Battle of Orange (March 2017)
Occuring in the middle of the battle for Gannat, Orange would turn out to be yet another ill-fated defensive operation resulting in a break of the line, contributing greatly to the defeat at Gannat. It sat more to the south and east of the aforementioned city, situated along a Gulf to its south and host to a number of small ports, now clogged with the wreckage of more than a few Brennian minor surface combatants. If broken, the city's location would allow for an encirclement of several key defensive points including Gannat. 10,000 soldiers of the army accompanied by 5,000 Marines stationed in the towns surrounding the urban center constituted the defense. None of these formations would last long, as the lightning progress at Gannat allowed a fresh force of Otykenese to slip through and assault the forces stationed at Orange before they were well and truly entrenched. The battles were short and anything but sweet. The Marines holding the village-suburbs and small cities of Arradon, Plescop, Meucon, Séné, and Saint-Avé were wiped out to the man, fighting brutal campaigns that inflicted considerable damage on the invaders.

It would prove to be in vain, however, as the seemingly unstoppable tide that was the JCA continued unabated into the city of Orange itself. Likewise the fighting here did not last long, as the now woefully outmaneuvered and outmanned Brennians held for as long as they could, losing 3,000 of the 10,000 original defenders in the subsequent battle and retreat from the city. Its loss was a huge one, opening yet another port for resupply use, although one that would no doubt be bombed in short order by the BAF. Still, the Brennians second real defeat of the war would lead to their third, fourth, and then fifth as the cities of Brandivy, Plumergat, and Sainte-Anne-d’Auray were encircled, besieged and dislodged in short order. This South-Eastern offensive would end in a total cost of 23,250 killed and wounded, and the mauled defenders running back with their tails between their legs in shame. The war had seemingly been going according to plan for so long, but now the feeling that they were well and truly losing was beginning to set in, the Republic needed a victory of some kind, any kind to keep morale at acceptable levels, lest the entire defense of their homeland end in ultimate failure.

It was clear Otyken’s ability to continue logistical flow into occupied Brennus was beginning to become too much for the Republic to handle and a renewed offensive against these supply routes would be necessary for the continued survival of the nation. Luckily, Missile Forces Command had finally pulled itself together and gathered a mass of warheads, including another hundred of the newest models fresh off the factory floors to fling at Otykens own home soil. Though this was all well and good, it would be for nothing if the massive fleet sitting off the western coast was given space to assist in interceptions. As such, the largest naval operation of the war since the opening volleys was mustered across the southern coast in preparation to occupy, destroy or otherwise annoy Otykenese naval assets in preparation for the massed missile strike. Remaining Frigate squadrons were loaded fully with a complement of hypersonics, nuclear attack submarines were given timetables and targets to hit along with the remaining two carriers plus CAN-001s orphaned escort fleet were amassed for a large fleet engagement, with CrusDes groups and independent Destroyer squadrons to roll in from the most western point they could manage to slow any and all reinforcements possible.

It started with another, mostly final barrage of ASBMs from missile command, their warhead stockpile for this role becoming dangerously low we a total of another hundred warheads streaked for their targets, mostly the remaining arsenal ships and carrier group escorts. After them came the entirety of the Backsword inventory escorted by Aquilas and B-5Xs, flinging absurd amounts of stealthy, low flying subsonic missiles to try and sneak through the clutter to hit anything they could identify as hostile, a whopping 480 missiles, making it the single largest missile wave the Brennians had launched in the entire war. Although it would take 5 more B-5Ms as a result, the hope was that the sheer volume of missiles would make up for the cost. Then came the Frigates, dumping their entire payload across multiple attack runs at the carriers amongst the Otykenese fleet as all three Brennian CSGs steamed toward a more traditional engagement with large enemy concentrations, in sync with a surprise submarine strike and the independent western groups blocking reinforcement efforts in a series of further engagements.

It was while these assets were caught up in what was now the largest naval engagement of the war that the ICBM salvo was loosed from their silos. 100 missiles in total, 25 of these warheads containing four MIRVs a pieve, seventy five contained eight a piece, and the final fifty containing two of the newest generation each. 800 warheads total, pretty much the entirety of the Brennian stockpile aimed at simply annihilating a vast list of targets, some repeat and some new, across Otyken. It was a hail mary, one that needed to at least partially succeed if Brennus was to have even a hope of winning this war. Prayers went out in droves, feet tapped and heads ached from the stress as controllers and commanders alike watched the engagements unfold, hoping desperately for good news in the eventual flood of AARs on the way.

Across the nation factions began purging civilians and opponents within their systems to solidify control with a total death count to these being around 250,000. Corpses burned in rural Honalulu and flocks of refugees travelled in packs like nomadic people. Many infants within these packs dying near the tropics being exposed to the elements and diseases such as Malaria and Dengu Fever that once were diseases not constantly thought of during the Technate.

An abandonment of the Technate led the people from a life of simple shelter and some food on the table to trekking through mud and soil wondering when they will get fed next.

Sure, Swiss humanitarian aid workers are there to help. Though with such a large nation these men may just stumble upon a dead body of a man, woman, or child tossed away onto the tossed off the shoulder of roads. The Swiss and other participating nations within the civil war would not see any shred of compassion in this war, no humanity nor any respect to sapient rights or dignity. So long as they could survive another day. . .

    Federation of Honalulu

The Federation of Honalulu wasn’t a nation, it was a glorified mega corporation that had seized entire swaths of provinces and subjugated its population into industrial, agricultural, and “community” camps. Only the rich enjoy the luxuries produced by the impoverished masses working under their spiked boots. As the nation embraced a work code of 996. 9 AM to 9 PM, working 6 days per week.

Immigration and Emigration were prohibited and the Swiss Humanitarian Aid workers would be promptly denied entry into the nation. Bribed by those in charged of border enforcements to look the other way.

Industrial regulations would be utterly trashed, police akin to death squads, and if not killed by them you had to face the draconian brutality of the Penal System. Healthcare had no Government backing and Education Restricted to the Upper Echelons of their society.

Of course things could have been a bit smooth sailing for the Federation if they didn’t had literal Socialists across their border, who seemed to be ramping up for an invasion into the Federation. For the Federation to up their game they needed to drag workers out of the camps, give them a good pay if they are willing to sign up and fight for the Federation against the SFRH. Though if the Sodorhvtisi'i government were able to give them a loan to build up their military to fight off the SFRH. Though of course this would draw ire against Sodor from the SFRH, and the FRH.

    Absukian Republic of Burwai

Burwai was in a problematic situation where the Front had collapsed and now have to dance with the Federation of Honalulu and other foreign countries.

The Republic was still purging people who they may deemed to be problematic for the stability of the country. Though life wasn’t as bad as it is in the Federation. Though this life may not last if the Federations money seeps it’s way into the country and buys it out. With both Baltocarpathia and Sodorhvtisi'i opening their hands to them with money and supplies, though are wary that if they lean to one side too much they may be shut off from the other side.

Thus Burwai would consider the possibility of aligning with Baltocarpathia though has expressed concerns over aligning with them fully, Alana would reject being under exiled as an Absukian leader doesn’t leave their homeland, if the Monarchs were able to stay in Honalulu, then thus he shall stay and see his vision and goals till the end.

As for Sodorhvtisi'i they are willing to accept foreign aid and equipment from Sodor, with only rejecting the loans to explain fuel refineries and a port due to concerns of it being bombed or attacked by either Otykenese forces or other factions and their agents possibly operating in Burwai. Thus a joint military facility would also be rejected as with the recent takeover Baltocarpathia had done in the Federation of Africa, there has been some concern that foreign governments or entities may do the same in the Republic and elsewhere in other factions with the nation split.

Thus they would only allow the Sodorhvtisi'i to operate on their runways so as they don’t spend money to make new ones during the war and invest that money into repairing existing infrastructures. The Swiss would see Burwai officials purge people who aligned with leftist ideologies or suspicions on being deviants of the state.

    2nd Federal Republic of Honalulu

President Hoa kua Keao was in a tricky position being flanked by the Honulite National Reclaimation Government and the SFRH. Both the ideology of hate and socialism seeping into the country. Though even with the purges and all his nation conducts, there was only so much he could do to keep the little Federation intact and under his control. Already the Burwai government was getting cozy with the Federation and the two were possibly going to get aid and ally with each other. Though with how radical the two ideologies are he doubts that such an alliance between the two would last long.

Though the SFRH may be a possible ally that the FRH can align to, the two had somewhat similar ideals though aren’t as far apart akin to the Federation and Burwai whose ideologies vastly differ that an overhaul in someone’s leadership or government would be required. Of course the only difference between the SFRH & the FRH is that SFRH was more socialist and also aligned to Technocratic ideals, though even then they aren’t major sell outs to Otyken after the purge and the Federation may cooperate with Otyken just for business deals and to break into the market.

Thus the practical solution for HKK is to travel to Dakari to meet with the leader of the SFRH and to establish a Democratic-Socialist and Socialist alliance between the two and resist the influences of the HNRG, Otyken, corporates, and other groups. Of course though they don’t know how Amberleaf may react once the deal is solidified and the FRH gets subsumed into the SFRH under one flag.

2nd Socialist Federal Republic of Honalulu

The 2nd SFRH wasn’t in much of a peculiar position akin to the FRH. Though most of them know that if the FRH were to fall to the NRGH then they would be surrounded on all sides. Agents within the Federation would weaken the government once war broke out between the two along with agents inside Burwai if Burwai were to ever side with the Federation. The fall of the Federation would give the SFRH a bit of an upper hand in the civil war though an alliance with FRH would be a significant gain with the population centers in Larmou and Ag'astu. Though this would open themselves to the NRGH.

Thus when the SFRH was contacted by the Technate, the only thing they needed was for them to keep the HNRG and their allies busy while they take control and stabilize the East of the fractured nation. As so long as the FRH & SFRH can forge some alliance against the right-wing governments and corporate heads they can emerge victorious if things goes according to plan. Swiss within both the SFRH & the FRH would see purges after purges conducted in these nations to root out the right and sympathizers of the NRGH along with Otykenese sympathizers who would go so far to again sleep with them.

Meeting at the airbase airbase nearby Africa

The FRH & the SFRH has decided that they do not wish to attend the meeting whilst the Republic of Burwai and the Federation accept the invitation. The two nations having radically differing ideas on how Honalulu should be governed though Federation believes that if they waved enough money at Burwai they could secure an alliance with them.

    Honulite Technate

Being split apart was one thing, though being bombed by your allies was another, though once Otyken ceased its drone strikes on the Technate it was rather a lost cause. The Honulite Technate shattered, demoralized, and now broken had several HNRG and ARGH elements seep into Aiponii and take control swathes of land from the Honulite Technate. Rothenake would be the last stand for the Honulite Technate, until darkness finally sets on the capital.

    Honulite National Reclaimation Government

A faction that is shrouded in dark temptations and secrecy. Having no trust to foreigners and especially not Otyken, nothing makes them more gleeful and gives them a sadistic pleasure than to throw an Otykenese baby onto a brick wall and to burn the women and men for all they have done. As for every Absukian life taken since the Honulite-Technate war till now will be repayed with 1,000 Otykenese men, women, and children.

Swiss forces were not allowed to enter nor any foreign entity. Though the HNRG’s only allies are the ARGH keeping the good fight against the Otykenese invaders. Sending shipment and engaging in naval fights against Otyken’s naval forces along with trying to gain air superiority within Otarange and Sauvaki.

    Absukian Revolution Guardians of Honalulu

Sauvaki was overrun by the Otyken hoard but not lost, ARGH still had a presence within the region and targetted death camps and holdings while Otyken stretched it forces into Otarange. Charges blew up roads and infrastructures and even ambushed Otykenese logistics or frontline forces crossing Otarange.

While they shelled Marina through intense bombing runs and naval attacks. Some people took leave while others were forced to join the ARGH or die to either them or the Otykenese. Anti-Air guns within the city would fire upon Otykenese CAS, recon drones and other aircrafts and choppers. Meanwhile Pickup trucks with Artilleries and AA-guns mounted upon them would fire onto suspected Otykenese positions in a fierce battle of hurling projectiles between one another.

Within the mountains there were no shortages of RPG nests and areas where insurgents could cradle in. They had more success at night than in the day though even with continued harassment from the Otykenese military the insurgents were able to make deliveries and funnel out civilians from Otarange and Sauvaki to the territories.

===================

To the West the Leftists and the Right-Wing Government and their corporate Allies ready for a fight against each other all the while to the East the HNRG and ARGH are in a fight against Otykenese and Honulite Technate Forces to decimate their positions in Sauvaki, Otarange, and Aiponii.

===================

RP: Darkest Hour (2017s)

Occupational Hazard (Otarange/Marina)
The surge into Otarange was met with significant delays and obstacles presented by insurgent forces, but the Provinces fate was ultimately sealed and the province was due to be under occupation like Sauvaki, to this end Otyken brought in seldom used Security Divisions to hold claims in both provinces and keep the heat up on insurgents within the occupied territories as these were some very large but sparsely populated provinces. The mountain Brigade had called in reinforcements as they were trading kills essentially one for one and that was not sustainable, the call was met with delays and other issues but the Airforce mopped up nicely to finally get them moving again and shutting down insurgent activity as fresh recruits poured in. The JCD Remnant planned to give both provinces to the Socialist Federal Republic now once then dust settles, albeit with Sauvaki transformed into a Demilitarized Zone to appease their new Overlord. The JCD Remnant had destroyed the Honoluite Technate by accident the response of the nation to the crisis was really a bull in a china shop as they destroyed everything in their wake both friend and foe. The siege of Marina continued as planned, it was one of the first Urban battles Otyken had fought against their neighbors as often it was just aircraft and naval ships bombing Honolulu, but in the streets of Marina tanks and infantry among other vehicles did battle and Otyken incurred losses of aircraft being shot down and vehicles destroyed but like a Tsunami the entire division continuously pushed through.

Future Prospect
Otyken has started emptying warehouses of mines to plant them in whatever area they can utilizing machinery and convict labour out in the savannah heat or wherever they find themselves, Otyken planned to plant some 80,000,000 mines across the country and awarded the Convicts based on how many they could plant, the maps of the mines were meticulously kept and a state secret to ensure safe passage for Otykenese troops but doom for anyone else, and would sometimes put mines onto paths and change them as needed to trap enemies into thinking roads trodden by the JCD Remnant was safe. The types of mines would remain active virtually indefinitely and weather proofed, intense scrutiny was placed on the accuracy of the maps down to millimeters.

HNR Air & sea
Otyken JCD Remnant forces had their airspace contested now with reports of planes being hit by missiles and enemy operating to control air superiority, most of the equipment Otyken had likely built which was met with networking capabilities being shut down to mitigate coordination between the enemy, AEW&C planes were dispatched and various support craft. They would engage in aerial combat furthermore Otyken took old bombers out of storage and sent them on their last mission with heavy payloads to conduct carpet bombing against Aiponii and other provinces as far as they could reasonably break into the country before interception to spread destruction and litter the nation with bombies.

Being contested by warships was surprising, and met with battles on the open sea, otyken fired Anti-Ship missiles from the coast and their operating battleships, but the majority of their efforts were spent using the ships GPS to locate and send bombers with rotary launchers to pelt the vessels with low flying Anti-Ship missiles to avoid more costly engagements of exchanging missiles in slug outs like they had done last year with Brennus.

Unlimited victory to the 2nd Socialist Federal Republic of Honalulu
Otyken was aware that the SFRH didn't like them, and that they had purged pro-otyken sentiments, but they still recognized the SFRH as the sole legal entity and sovereign of the state of Honolulu and publicly declared this. Hoping it would give a boost in morale, they also shipped humanitarian aid, weapons, and Convicts to be used as Penal Brigades to quell insurgency, a logistical line also established to keep the Convicts from becoming a burden and any surplus was given to SFRH, encouraging them to seize control of the country, Otyken assets will assist their campaigns and to uplift socialist principals which the state of Otyken often claims to have invented. While they did ask for insight previously the prospect of grass roots was unknown to the state of Otyken and they went ahead and did what they planned to do anyways which is often the case.

In the war in Honalulu, Amberleaf's support was lying with the 2nd Federal Republic of Honalulu, being Socialist Democrats. It's view of the 2nd Socialist Federal Republic of Honalulu is more skeptical, but one of the more favorable options on the table. With the erratic situation, Amberleaf would approve the alliance of the 2FRH and the 2SFRH, seeing it as a necessity to strengthen these two more favorable candidates.

Yet Amber will not tolerate sympathies towards Otyken, which has moved to the top of Amberleaf's enemy list. Amberleaf made to deliver needed supplies and weaponry to its overseas Honalulan protectorates, and it to use its navy to secure their traderoutes, also opening up access to the PB marked indirectly via Amberleaf. The condition was to cease sympathies towards Otyken. If one seeks a Technocratic idol, to look towards The Distanic Confederacy instead. In addition to provided resources, Amberleaf offers to send up to 50'000 soldiers to defend its protectorates, and provide them with Amberlevian workforce, if needed.

nation]Baltocarpathia[/nation] made an offer of more cooperation, and Amberleaf is willing to hear proposed specifics. Until then, there were some other matters to discuss.

Baltocarpathia's current actions resulted in mixed feelings in Amberleaf. Their occupation in Federation of Africa was approved of by Amberleaf's current more Militarist sentiment, seeing it as a great spot for a base against Otyken, but did spark some opposition from the more Progressive and Pacifist Cantons, largest of which is Silvercinder. Amberleaf overall stayed quiet on the topic, having more urgent matters.

Another concern was Balto's intervention in Honolulu, supporting the Absukian Republic of Burwai, which seemed more on the path of working against Amberleaf's favorite candidate. Amberleaf advocated for Balto to bring the ARB more in line to work with, rather than against, the 2FRH.

The proposed migration treaty ran into some problems in the Amber Parliament, as the ruling Coalition that was practically unilaterally ruling the Parliament consisted mostly of more foreign-sceptical parties. The Populus as a whole was still mostly in favor of keeping good ties in the international stage, and since they could force the Parliaments hand if need be with a Popular vote. The Coalition finally reluctantly accepted the proposed treaty, but it pointed out an unconventional atmosphere of the current Parliament. The event, with the threat of Popular override, left a strange taste, where the Populus seemed to have to work against its own Parliament.

RP | Mythics

The Mythic party of Hyland wasn't like the others. While new parties usually took some time to gain momentum, Hyland had practically sprung from the ground to the currently 3rd largest party, not far from 2nd and 1st place. It had very much the loud, disruptive, and spectacular air of an opposition party, which prioritized getting its message out there, rather than partaking in policy making, but was acting and treated as part of the Establishment, whose parties usually are more conventional and focused on getting things done.

In the Canton of Drownark, Hyland Mythics were holding occasional marches in the night, with violet-flamed torches (a color which had become associated with them), stylish militaristic costumes, and occasional music troops, like they were holding a celebratory war victory march. The marches were mostly perceived as a fun way to strengthen the community. The Mythics' obsession with aesthetics enchanted the people, so that they were missing the more sinister hints of the Hyland party.

The speaker of Hyland and de-facto matriarch of the party was Everess, who had once been arrested a little more than a decade ago for advocating the execution of Pacifists during a heated political situation in Canton Highess. Everess had at that point written a book which advocated for a more Militaristic governance and a xenophobic attitude among other things. Since that time her style had gotten more refined, delving deeper into themes of mythologizing the past.

In a secret underground room the Hylandian Elite was plotting. They knew how to influence opinion like no other party, it was always purely based in emotion. People needed to be in a intoxicated state of myths and glamour, where emotions grip the heart, not in the demystified real world, where they thought rather than felt. Hyland was built on this theme of dreamlike fervor for an irreality.

Hyland had gotten their candidate installed as Vilight, a young Drone with a enchanting way of speaking, with clothes in the style of old extravagant military uniforms. Where the last Vilight, Feylar, was soft and frienfly, Vilight Veilchen had more an attitude of a charismatic commander. He looked intelligent and capable. Hyland had pushed a law which gave the Vilight more control over the Ministry, citing the Ministry's way of installing its own members an thus making the Executive a closed system, arguing to give more power to the Parliament to keep the Ministry in check. After the new policy, Veilchen started to slowly make changes to the Ministry, making new departments and staffing them with Mythics, and replacing some of the Technocrats.

The Coalition had given Chancellorship to Wirkin, leader of the Militarist party Silver Thorns, because they were the largest in the Coalition. Hyland, and especially Everess, was now arguing to have their speaker installed instead. They argued Hyland's charismatic and attention-catching style to make more use of the role of Chancellor by boosting the Coalition's favorability. Discussions on the topic are ongoing.

RP | Silvercinder

Silvercinder was the Futuristic Canton of Amberleaf, and its capital. Technology was everywhere, high-tech trains connected the whole Canton, Etherbots (magical ant-folk bots) were walking and working among the population, the cities were littered with universities and research centers. Silvercinder was already halfway of being its own technocracy. Filled with Technocrats, Progressives, and Centrists, their political participation was majorly excluded from current politics, where they historically had always been the most influential Canton. Already being its own world from the rest of Amberleaf, and having always more or less allowed to doing what it wanted because of its relative power, the current political state had shiften Silvercinder from taking national influence, to taking cantonal influence, shifting the standard of power to a more local level, an only strengthening Silvercinder's cocooning.

With Otyken majorly falling out of favor, the Technocrats had shortly fallen, and now needed a new idol. The Distanic Confederacy was chosen to boost Silvercinder further into its desired Techno-Utopia. Silvercinder made attempts to further cooperation with Distan, with exchange of students and researchers, and establishment of joint science facilities and education centers. It also suggested Distan to take a more closer stance with PB, to apply for further articles or even membership. Silvercinder's unilateral propositioning to Distan upset the Parliamentary Coaltion, which intensified its rhetoric against Silvercinder, which seemingly acts like it is the only ones whose opinion counts for national decision making, which is typical for the elitist Technocrats.

In Silvercinder almost everyone was on Silverhill, a social media platform where you could join regions and subregions called "Hills" and interact with people online in various ways. People also could approve each other and give likes and other things, which resulted in a Merit Score for each user. Amberlevians naturally obsessed with social reputation had fully indulged in this feature in an severe extent, causing a lot of emotional stress. It had also given rise to social media celebrities. Influencers were becoming a thing. Drones did surprisingly well in the area, because their way was often very entertaining to the common folk.

The Intranet was all throughout Amberleaf, but Silvercinder was its main userbase. Gaming and video-watching and all kinds of functions were excessively used, really changing the lifestyle of the region drastically. Silvercinder always seemed like it was decades into the future from the rest of Amberleaf, but its people were getting ever stranger in the eyes of the nation. Consumerism, Individualism, Pacifism, Xenophilia, Social Progressivism. Silvercinder was simultaneously the most chill and the most intense Canton, and they loved it. It is where many of activists and emigrants to Greater Confederation of Switzerland and Baltocarpathia came from.

Hyland was a modern party, not matter how much they seem to hail the past. They were the most modern party, and were very adapt. The Hylandian Elite had started a program to infiltrate Silvercinder's intranet and spread their propaganda. The Mythics' sensationalist ways did very well in the digital environment. Mythics had often a little bit a way of inventing and twisting the reality of things, and in Silvercinder's confusing and intense intranet no-one noticed the cultivation of so many a conspiratorial corner.

With the Sodorhvtisi'i deep southern location leading to a relative isolation, a desire to change that would be expressed by the government, in order to expand economic cooperation and relations with her fellows in Southwestern Ardentia and the Lettesee Marine regions.

To this end, a number of domestic and international initiatives would be launched, with the stated aim of securing Sodorhvtisi'i prosperity, and preventing the Commonwealth from being left behind in a world so focused on advancement.

Anheldac, a well regarded partner, would similarly be approached, given her status in Southwestern Ardentia. A more comprehensive expression of interest would be made with regards to cooperations with the Heldites, including several export opportunities.

- Government:
- Interest expressed in funding High Speed connectivity to connect to the initial line, with links between Suldnir and Dhiljan, and between Aersk and Cholma, via Shulfiras, at an estimated RyM 33 billion ($52.8 billion) in a mix of grants and ultra-low interest loans offered to be made available, of a total estimated RyM 50 billion ($80 billion) in costs).
- Interest expressed in an agreement, fixing trade tariffs at a level not exceeding but possibly subceeding 1.25 per cent, excluding certain demerit goods (Tobacco, other recreational drugs, etc).
- Interest expressed in Sodorhvtisi'i import of local textiles, produce, cotton and finer stones, and export of technology, metals and chemicals, with estimated markets at RyM 7.2 billion and RyM 19.2 billion respectively.

- Seelandtlijnien (Government owned)
- The above expressed proposal for High Speed Rail, with estimated times between 8 and 10 years

- Missa-Dei Shipyards
- With respect to the specific strategic situation of Anheldac, an offer made for up to 16 Type 017EA Missile Boats, 4 Type-9E Corvette and up to 6 IK-2019 Destroyers, variant available for selection (Stats below).

- Littelsee Aircraft
- With respect to the strategic situation, an offer made for sale of either IRA-EV or ISA-Q (F-35B or Su-30SM2) fighter aircraft, up to 24 ASE-9 (Tu-22M3 'Backfire') Naval Bombers and ITI-14 Transport Aircraft (KC-390), in order to support the Heldite Armed Forces

- Sodair
- The establishment of twice daily flights between Shulfiras and Feylani Kristreyri-Lissandre International Airport, and daily flights between Sitka, Tallisk and Viessa and Shulfiras, and between Hasint and Kristreyri-Lissandre.

- Union Miniere
- Investment into oil drilling in Anheldac, and into extraction of Ni-Cu-PGE in the country, with a 60% stake to the Heldite 40%.

- Ijsselzeelijnien
- Construction of a proposed 494.3 metre skyscraper in Shulfiras, to accommodate Ijsselzeelijnien offices, with the rest of the space to be rented out, and the basal floors to host a shopping mall.

RP: Ardentianization

The Commonwealth expressed its keen interest in expanding the favorable if limited relationship already maintained with the Sodorhvtisi'i. There was strong support for the infrastructure initiatives, and the establishment of Sodair flights to the nation, with only the suggestion that Nakjan may be a more suitable destination compared to Hasint. There was also agreement on the proposals of both the Union Miniere and Ijsselzeelijnien, as well as on reduction of tariffs and increases in trade. The AVAS expressed great interest in acquiring 24 ISA-Q fighters, 24 ASE-9 bombers, and 4 ITI-14 aircraft, collectively making the largest single acquisition of airframes in national history. The AVM also expressed interest in acquiring the full suite of 16 017EA Missile Boats, as well as 4 9E Corvettes, but respectfully declined the purchase of any IK-2019 Destroyers due to doctrinal differences and budgetary concerns.

Brennus wrote:RP: Rolling Back

Otyken invasion of Brennus

Counter Loiter / C-UAV
The application of loitering munitions creates a niche between an armed drone and a cruise missile with high precision and operational flexibility, Otyken being extremely numerous has lost an abundance of guns and other equipment from such devices and often had to utilize spaced out small formations especially on their gunlines and to carefully choose if they reveal themselves. The destruction became notable enough for rapid deployment of new tactics and equipment to mitigate the threat, the stocks of Brennus munitions of this time was unknown, and even with air raids striking industry it was possible many warehouses could he stocked to the brim with enough munitions to wipe out light to medium armored vehicles and gun pieces.
- Computer vision, ML, Sensor Fusion DKD with scatter shot and direct energy effectors.
- RF effector from the Baltocarpathia War
- GPS Spoofing, Jammers, EM Antennaz
- Ground Based Hard-Kills: Remote Turrets, Nets, Micro-Missiles
- Application of new tactics: Camouflage, Foliated positions, Wire/Mesh/Cages, Netting
- Arming troopers with Counter-Drone guns and 40mm equipment (ex. Underbarrel system)
- Anti-Air mines attuned to rotor craft buzzes
Shaking the spear at Brennus otyken flew in more of these munitions typically they were most interested in UUB, but they were the Technate and always kept a hefty supply of modern gadgets to retaliate with. Furthermore during this event there was a sharp increase of MLRS systems being deployed to quickly release a large payload and make scarce, the destruction wrought from these were considerable, the culmination of frequent air raids, artillery, and drone strikes was making the country look ruinous and a sharp uptick in smaller scale widespread skirmishes because of abundant precision threats.

January 2017 The Administration + Prelude to Tanis
The people within South Brennus and the occupational government were the unwilling participants of a deep and large scale psy op mostly to quell them and rouse favor the process would be challenging, but it was mostly enhanced by feeding them because of widespread shortages either real or stimulated the country as far as Otyken knew was quite unified and breaking them up into two groups not easy they did have to pry the nation apart by force afterall. Otyken has also moved two security divisions into the country to hold gains they had more objectives to complete but wanted 3 armies to converge on Tanis later in the war. The effects of shortages of equipment was becoming annoying and quite apparent as the logistical web and enemy resistance increasingly grew and they needed these three armies at full capacity. Tanis was major it was going to be like knocking on the gates of Couvin if.. when they get their.

Naval Supremacy Contested
Long sitting on the throne of Naval Supremacy as Brennus had conserved it's assets a sharp uptick in enemy strikes seen some early victories as JCN ships moved in to intercept, this caused notable disruptions in the supply chain and the loss of some vessels as the sea lit up again violently with large missile exchanges and beams of tracer rounds, Otyken leaned on its submarine force which wasn't all too helpful in the initial battles to maintain stress on the Brennian forces and secure kills here and there. The loss of cargo vessels were irreplaceable in the time frame of the war and caused rippling effects as the scale of the operation meant air cargo was only enough to keep the lights on so an intense battle for the sea had resumed as otyken surged to protect their troop transports and logistical vehicles from hit and run of the enemy. These battles seen integration of aircraft and other assets, but at this time it was a far larger battlezone than the clumped up huge landing at the beginning of the war.

Stars Fall, People die
The Battle zone was dense with radars, early warning, and AEW&C craft the navy had recently seen an uptick in engagements with the Brennian Navy after sitting on their throne of Naval Supremacy for months, and when ICBMs raised into the sky they had one question were they anti-ship ballistic missiles? No, then it was someone else's problem, the details, were forwarded back home, they were ready for such an attack and had their sensors and ABM weapons already setup, but they had expected the Navy to at least intercept some of the rockets in their early stages to make their lives easier. But no interceptions were made and the JCD and JCSF would need to save the day. The missiles were tracked and ABM weapons launched into the sky in rapid succession quite the spectacle for the citizens which witnessed it as the colossal nations battled in space once again. The sky glowed with the massive explosions of interceptions and blazing rocket fuels followed by the resounding thump of a distant explosion much like before the well drilled ABM crews managed to intercept about half the targets and were running low on weapons as more were still on order so they had to pick their shots and hope they got lucky. A grim reminder of the war as warheads crashed and blew causing untold destruction some of which perhaps unknown to Brennus had hit Autofactory facilities destroying additive manufacturing and robotic arms in addition to gas reservoirs, refineries, electrical stations creating huge showers of sparks and fires and other critical targets which had emergency services and repair teams strained and and people mutilated by the blasts, fires, and other catastrophe. The first missile strike they had done far better at intercepting but even at half it's initial potential the toll was taken.

April-May 2017 Massacre of La Gavilly
Otyken has had unthinkable quantities of assets amassed and the momentum continued to grow an entire field army had been tasked with taking the city of La Gavilly, the nearby highway was becoming overrun with tanks and vehicles from Otyken, and Brennus was running out of room to run their backs up against a swamp effectively as the Otykenese Army worked to shear the nation in half. Command was well aware that the Brennian's would be far more aggressive in this fight as the dreaded encirclement began to set in. Preliminary to the fight was wide spread skirmishes of various sizes as the field army attempted to spread out over a wide area as possible to maintain encirclement and setup gunlines, various equipment and established routes for logistics on treacherous mine filled roads and an advanced persistent threat of loitering munitions and enemy ucavs. The army was on a tight time budget rumors of trouble out at sea and possible delays in resupply meant they needed it now and their plan was not fully cooked.

Brennus was dug in deep here, this was a common trope now in the war they were less willing to fall back and Otykens large numbers often had them unfazed the city also had lots of people as there was virtually no places for them to actually flee to leading to yet another tight ROE, which was unfortunate because of all the fresh MLRS they had shipped and helicopters. At the beginning of April on schedule shelling of the city would begin with artillery and rockets, Otyken with Mechanized Infantry would move in requiring Air support to deal with the threat of enemy tanks, retaliation was rnemy mortars, guns, and missiles with a limited number of aircraft involved in the actual battle aside from some Brennian EW craft and some planes to harass aircraft, Otyken had lost communications from the potent EW efforts, something often employed. As the mechanized army moved in they had taken a wrong turn as the citizens had switched up street signs and GPS was down, somewhere in the kill chain this was miscommunicated and they believed to have spotted a huge contingent of Brennian forces and it looked like a swift resolution, the street was blanketed with MLRS Thermobaric missiles an entire block of the city went up in a huge blaze with significant civilian collateral, as another regiment turned the street they saw the brilliant blaze, it was two late, their own people were writhing around melting, buildings blazed and the armored vehicles had become blast furnaces for those inside, the Regiment opened fire to put their own men out of misery and where yelling on the jammed communications to cease fire, only for a secondary barrage of artillery fire to clear out the street they where on leaving only those in the vehicles alive to bare witness to the massacre of their own troops, it was a friendly fire incident unlike any other, all because of a switched street sign and some jamming.

Morale for Division here has plumitted most of a brigade and a regiment was simply just gone 3,800 people and not even from the enemy, and they were quite terrified of reporting what had happened there was sure to be an investigation and court marshals. They where also down on vehicles and the Brennian's were probably just as confused as they were what had happened, the battle continued as planned with the shelling an urban warfare that had become characteristic of the invasion, but someone somewhere wanted to sweep the incident under the rug and make the battle look a little more intense than it actually was, intense enough for a brigade and regiment to have vanished in flames as futile as it may sound, Tanks collapsed buildings here and there, when Brennian positions where found no precision shelling was done they blanketed the entire area, vehicles that had gotten damaged where often left abandoned or burned out, those that knew of what happened where killed or sworn to secrecy, the civilian death toll was ludicrously high from the wanton destruction they where dishing out if a ATGM blew a vehicle it was almost immediately hit with rocket artillery it looked like the apocalypse had blown through here and the loss of numbers and equipment made winning battles for Brennus easy they had killed thousands upon thousands borderline recruits had also been sent in and killed, the forces holding the area lasted for over a month with an entire division banging on their door before the encirclement began to become unbearable and they where shoved out by a final push. An entire division was left in shambles, a city looked like the apocalypse happened, and equipment was low. It was a massacre. They were in for a another dark revelation at the end of this battle, when the EW aircraft cleared site radios blared of the fall of the Technate.

May 2017 The Fall
The Technate's demise, while not unexpected, has sent ripples across the geopolitical landscape. Honolulu's instability was a harbinger of the fall, eliciting mixed reactions relief for some, despair for others. The Technate's lifespan, estimated between 15-20 years, was marked by unprecedented scientific and technological advancements and the rise of a formidable military force that dominated one of Kalrania's most powerful states. The war's outcome now hangs in the balance, with supply chain disruptions, civil unrest, and economic turmoil contributing to the uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the JCA's substantial reserves could sustain the conflict for years. However, the strategic question remains: should they decisively defeat their adversary, or is the current level of damage sufficient to remove the threat and focus on relic acquisition and rebuilding home? Amidst the turmoil, the armed forces have adopted the symbols of Otyken, signaling a shift in allegiance. The transition to a more orthodox economy has been met with trepidation, as the market's collapse and the specter of poverty contrast sharply with the previous unlimited state-provided security. The new Director's speeches, advocating for a maintained planned economy and rapid legal reforms under an authoritarian regime, have struck a chord with many. Despite the chaos, the leader's zeal and vision continue to inspire loyalty and hope for recovery. The path forward for the Technate's remnants and its people is fraught with challenges, but the promise of a new direction under Otyken's banner offers a glimmer of stability in an otherwise uncertain future.

RP | All quiet on the Western Front, and the Eastern too

The Scorched Earth tactic had been a full success in temporarily halting the Amberlevian advance. With large parts of the Deepwoods burned down, and a barrage of artillery, the front was somewhat relaxed for Gartentor. There had been occasional combat, resulting in 20'000 dead Gartentorian and 10'000 Amberlevian soldiers, a lot less than during previous periods.

But Gartentor had used up most of its artillery munition, and still hadn't a way out. Fear was high that Amberleaf was just waiting for Gartentor to start faltering, and then immediately start a large assault. Being now squashed in tight territory, it was to be a grim outcome, as there was believe Amberleaf would make the attack as bloody as possible to kill and reduce Gartentor as much as they could. Feeling forsaken from most of the world, a call turned to their seeming only ally, Otyken, trying to coordinate a strategy on how best to proceed.

Again Gartentor called for a ceasefire. Internationally Gartentor warned that Amberleaf would go on full genocide if it isn't stopped. The population was now pretty upset. This was what they had feared from the very beginning. When they first stepped out of the Deepwoods, it was out of trying to get in the first move, with a worry of what Amberleaf was intending to do, and with the deep desire for getting back their homeland. And now they had been pushed back even further into the Deepwoods.

Otyken invasion of Brennus
OOC: Small post tying up loose ends for the next part.

Battles in the sea and air, Otyken trading blows like it was the new status quo with little border changes in two weeks until moving to their new target after significant delays from logistics interruptions or perhaps they were simply in shock from the Technate falling a fact that undoubtedly boosted the morale of Brennus, the Technate was surging across the nation of Brennus like an unstoppable Tsunami had cracked and shattered back home, they could be beat.

June-August: Patry
Otyken set their sights on Patry, it was a comparably minor city easily overlookable, unfortunately for Otyken to split Brennus in half effectively Patry would need to be taken otherwise it's extensive routes could be exploited as it was a major thoroughfare. The Command was feeling a little war weary they needed time to consolidate, but they had to do this, defences were abundant, there was plenty of defenders and the troopers were unmotivated after the fall of the Technate, it was overall not a good situation. The Brennian's were on the other hand all ready to go, many likely where looking for an excuse to fall back to Tanis, probably the city most of these soldiers were actually from, but they were to hold this position until the highway was lost. Otyken was short on virtually everything except soldiers, so they planned to take it slow with some Artillery bombardment until the Airforce was freed up positioning 70 guns and Sam batteries the JCA began the shelling of the city and highway area, counter battery fire and drones from Brennus took their toll on the guns the shelling was a month long endeavor and had made the small city look horrendous the actual casualties inflicted were relatively low, the collateral also lower than expected as the citizens here had used the uncontested highway to escape to the north. An additional 30 guns leftover from battles had showed up which replaced the moderate losses and added to the overall count, but they had almost no armor still and phoned that in only to find an entire field army was repositioning below them and all the equipment was 'not for them' July came and went with still no armor or rocket artillery, but the JCAF was freed up and gave them the greenlight with close air coverage and scheduled bombardment, the soldiers practically had to siege the city on foot and without the armor were easy pickings for mortars, machine gun nests, and snipers the JCAF delivered though and turned a huge segment of transportation infrastructure into rubble, Brennian aircraft responded crashing two planes before breaking off after a Brennian plane was damaged by a SAM and more Otykenese aircraft and helicopters entered the airspace clearing ground targets and raining down hell, Brennian SAMs knocked a few out of the sky before the tide of infantry neutralized the defences in a shootout, the infantry had extremely heavy casualties and the brigade involved in the siege was disbanded and the survivors were tasked to the nearby field army instead of being sent home much to their chagrin. The Brennian's had kept their escape route open and left in good spirits and condition to Tanis aboard armored convoy with cover from the planes that had broken off to deter Otyken JCAF from following.

Gathering Storm: Tanis
Three field armies were moving into position the logistic and supply line stretched nearly from Coast to Coast, the navy was going around to the east side and aircraft stocks where shuffled. Brennus knew from recon data and observations of the citizens, something big was brewing, in the back lines Security Divisions were flooding in to hold gains as the field armies made their preparations, this was the last major objective to cut the country in half referred colloquially as 'The Great Operation' Tanis was huge, important, and will play a significant role in the outcome of the war.

RP: Guimen Guan Battle for our realm
N°2 ran into extreme complications trying to close the portal years ago and suffered terrible damage from the effort and astral projecting. She recounted the events, but eventually ended up catatonic and later comatose. Medical intervention was attempted, but the nature of psionic-related brain damage was beyond current science. Brain scans and new developments were explored, but in the wake of the super portal, more drastic measures were taken, including neuroprosthesis, to bring her back. N°2 entered into the dimension and saw horrific visions and interacted with the strange creature, who she described as seemingly family, yet almost totally alien. Theories suggest this could be the lost N°1 who vanished almost a decade ago during a psychotronic experiment. This event collapsed N°2's mind. Recovery and rehabilitation took four years, but she was ready and stronger than ever.

Additionally, in the last four years, the Stargate project has gone more public and devised a better standardized test to recruit people into its ranks near the quarantine zone. Those people who got selected families received a sum of money and were taken to yet another secret laboratory in which high technology would be employed in abhorrent ways to remove the brains of these subjects without their knowledge or consent and place them in jars filled with a sustaining solution; this device was to create a relay and use the combined power of these individuals to perform Psi tasks that machinery was at present unable to perform. The brains may have prosthetics attached and are hooked to a system that will inject chemicals and stimulants as needed for the experiments. Others had been joined into a special Psionic brigade for the final battle.

The portal closing device was completed, and an army was assembled with members from Stargate, MAJIK-12, Senzo Isan, JAKARTA and more, the most esoteric and elite fighters the Technate could assemble. Their equipment consisted mostly of ground vehicles, rocket artillery, tanks and Thermobaric weapons, most importantly they developed a special warhead to overwhelm and kill Psychics, which was loaded into many-celled MLRS to attempt to kill the entity they had encountered previously, which they know now to be N°1 something about that realm had corrupted him and he wanted to either end or destroy Otyken, maybe even the world, regardless with him alive the Superportal would grow rapidly and soon be out of control. The development of the enhanced device for closing the portal was a many-billion int$ effort and required the best minds to design and assemble the device, which had its own relay of psychic brains in jars for N°2 to draw upon. The closure device had its own armoured and heavy vehicle for getting in; the vehicle was as long as two 18-wheelers and weighed as much as a super heavy tank, and its escort was massive. Many other backup projects had been made, including at a laboratory they opened, a smaller, short-lived one, but this was the last best hope. This smaller device formed the Hellgate project.

Update on Quarantine Zone
The Quarantine zone has grown to ~90,000km2 in size, portal storms and alien fauna have decimated the Central region of Otyken, casualties are estimated to reach upwards of 10,000,000-20,000,000 and rapidly climbing (most news sources stopped reporting or were silenced) the central region was a breadbasket and disruptions to this and the ongoing war has caused many to perish from famine also. The apocalyptic sight and destruction is unlike anything previously witnessed, towns and cities have been reduced to rubble, infrastructure has collapsed and Martial Law is the only one thing preventing total Anarchy. Within the epicentre of the Superportal, frequently called Diyu, is the highly terraformed portion. There operated a Transhumanist Regime run by the JCA with unparalleled cruelty, and they have begun revering the Portal and its secrets. The sites are constantly bombed and torched by remnant forces, but the war in Brennus and now Honolulu has disrupted supply lines of munitions and equipment to quell the spread of doom.

RP: Hellgate
Quarantine Zone, Diyu (2018)

Last Best Hope
The force amassed for the operation consisted of 3 mechanized infantry brigades, an artillery brigade, and two Armored brigades with supporting logistics equipment and engineers. It was a formidable force. The portal creatures had very little that could harm actual armour; unfortunately, the overgrowth and infrastructure damage made travel towards the portal sight perilous; specialized bridges and repairs had to be made as they advanced to support the enormous device that housed the weapon, during bridge crossings the generator segment had to be detached and tower across. All the while they did this, creatures from the sky and land, some as large as bears, would swarm in to assault the convoy and attack the soldiers and vehicles, which shot at them with the smaller turrets and the main gun, depending on the size, a near constant thump of autocannon and heavy machine gun fire the stoic armour of the vehicle being slashed at by the creatures trying to get inside to kill. As they approached, the creatures perked up and were sent to converge on the convoy's position much like before, indicating that demon N°1 was watching and intent on hindering their advance to the super-portal. The intense storms within the quarantine zone and the terraforming meant virtually anything was strange life forms now.

Upon arrival at the Superportal, the tide of creatures became intense. The infantry dismounted, and scientists got to setting up the equipment. N°2 was placed inside a Sensory Deprivation Capsule for its operation. The Stargate, Jakata, and JCA soldiers exited Armored Transports and set up a perimeter to hold positions against an encroaching horde while the vehicles maintained fire. The artillery they had brought ignited an area around them and suppressed the tide; the special rockets positioned themselves for action. The device whirred to life, a continuous beam of iridescent colour ripping through the sky and embedding itself into the portal, the brain jars lit up and EEG readings snapped up and down rapidly, the portals twister vorticity increased flinging debris and stuff around the portal itself behaving like a hurricane with high winds, enormous creatures of new types dropped to the ground and the master of the portal had descended from it floating in the sky N°1, immediately targeted by the Stargate Operatives with a variety of attacks and streams of machine gun fires, the demon picking up tanks with outstreched hand and tossing them, tracers reflecting off, the demon ricocheted a volley of HE rounds which exploded in the distance as the horde of monsters sunk their claws and teeth into the soldiers, the Stargate releasing more psionic attacks their necks snapping or hearts being ripped out by unseen force, the soldiers yelled to fire the rocket artillery, 180 rockets being launched in rapid succession to kill one person. The troops dived for cover, N°1 could knock a few away, but they exploded early, turning the sky to a storm of mini-bombies on short fuzes, Steel orbs, shrapnel and fire; it was simply too much even for the powerful psychic who was engulfed in explosions and turned to ribbons crashing to the ground, the storm of death caused extensive friendly fire incidents. Meanwhile, the beam did something to the superportal its colour was changing, and it was shrinking in size, the creatures looked up at it in confusion, not because it was closing, but like something was scaring them; during this lapse in aggression, the soldiers moved from their cover and gunned down the monsters and released more autocannon and machine gun rounds to clear them out the surviving Stargate operators secured the demon by beheading it and placing the head in a cryocannister. Their moment of supreme triumph over the demon was cut short by screaming of agony from the Sensory Deprivation Capsule; the brain jars began to explode the minds bursting in a bloody display, the capsule became like an oven N°2 flat-lined, and the scientists got paddles opening it and pulling her out only to find she had been absolutely cooked and boiled alive, there was nothing left, but they did something to the portal the creatures had retreated from the site. However, the weapon was still intact this time so they too retreated. The two greatest psychics the program had ever produced were dead.

Epilogue
MAJIK-12 Bunker Black Site (Site M12), Shadow Ministry of Psionic Warfare
A dark meeting room.
12: "It was a match; the Psychic monstrosity from the gate is N°1; we managed to recover the head in cryo and removed the brain; tissue samples were collected and fed to our greatest supercomputer for sequencing. He was hardly human by the time of his death, but the data could prove beyond useful for us. We had a whole army out there, ultimately it was a 180-cell rocket barrage that did him in. Something changed about the gate. We shrunk it some, but N°2 was cooked alive in the Capsule; she was beyond saving."

??: "So Number 1 was a traitor to his country and possibly planet, that brain alive or dead is worth more to us than a thousand N°2, she was a useless money sinkhole like all the other Psychic soldiers who almost all ended up with broken necks or their hearts ripped out from one guy."

12: "We did lie to him and sent him to presumably another dimension which mutilated him into an alien creature beyond recognition. The response was understandable but not excusable. With him out of the picture, the spread of the fauna seems to have slowed down substantially; they are still dangerous but not actively trying to expand without their commander. We may be able to stop the spread, but the storms will continue."

??: "We can throw more soldiers and rockets at the problem, this is a rare instance of good news. Bring to bare the full force of mind weaver, bring the demon to life under our FULL control and divert resources to upgrading the useless Psychic warriors into something that can make a difference. We are under a tight time schedule here, if we can use remote viewing to locate the UFO and other critical assets in Brennus while the war is ongoing that will alter the course of the war."

12: "What about our new director? Did you meet with him? I would like to know his stance on the clandestine operations we have been conducting."

??: "A brilliant technic dictator as any, but distinctly different from Altan Khan, I don't believe he fully grasps the powers that happen in secret here; we will abuse that through suggestion and strengthen the state. We are at a crossroads for our state after the fall of the Technate; we must not sink into mediocrity from this change."

12: "We will continue working on closing the gate. It will be easy if we can rig the demon's brain to the engine. Do we have any other operational directives I must know about beyond the cold war aims?"

??: "Attune the Hellgate project to the portal. Something changed about it. Let's see what's on the other side. Gain funds from foreign investment if you need to, perhaps the Greater Confederation of Switzerland. We've already collaborated in the past on secret projects. Fly them in."

12: "As you wish."

((Authors notes: The Super-portal remains in place, but its spread has stopped for now, the storms and serious hazards still remain, but extra time has been bought for the state.))
