Yeah, if the old shorts came out today, they would be ground to dust (especially the many times drag was involved).

Not really. That sh1t's funny as fvck sometimes.

It's made even better when you realise most anti-furries today are literal children who have no idea what they're even really talking about.

Watching them emit more cringe than the average furry is genuinely funny lmao

Online? Sure. In real life, I don't know. I remember seeing this one weird fvcker walk into a public place looking crazy.

New Westmore wrote:Does anyone ever get tired of the anti-furry rhetoric sometimes?

I like when it's blatantly comedic. Seeing the Imperium of Man fighting a brutal world war against the furry hordes is bound for comedy. Yet, I don't have much interest in the real thing. I'd wish people to be more patriotic about their humanity in general, but from what I can tell it's just an niche interest group who does it for fun; no harm is done.

That reminds me, I do have a Neko population here in Talitoa.

Orangani:

They are a loving people apologetic to the Orangation Plague of 26/19 and of their kinda creators Felicia and Fergus Papaya. Their names have orange in them to remind them of their heritage and of their nature. Their leader Fire Cheddar started their de-radicalization after they formed from the last stage of Orangation. Orangani also like working and being in liquids, as they find solace in things that are the same consistency.

The Blue line is the Talitoan people, with the orange line representing the Orangani. The background is the Orangation Plague that created them. The two lines joining together with the orange/blue heart is the new friendship and togetherness between the races.

Oarfish:

A race of people that had higher intelligence in Oarfish kind. They celebrate the day they gained citizenship from the case Sandra v. Stance Labs on March 3rd, 2000. They want to help there fellows, so they created the Oarfish Worldwide Freedom Society (A organization that helps intelligent Oarfish in country's that oppress them). Issues with the Oarfish Supremacy party have caused a tiny rift, it is not really that big compared to the rest of the Oarfish population.

The waves represents the homeland of the Oarfish along with the blue background. The blue represents Talitoa also, with the sun above the waves representing the Oarfish that rose from the water. The fin is the Oarfish themselves and their seances.

A.I.:

A race that gained sentiance and sapience from thier earlier electronic forms. They celebrate they day they gained citizenship on December 5th, 2005. A huge activity for the A.I. is "Circuit Circles", when they make circuit boards for fun, replacement parts, and backups for their physical storage. Programs are also made in "Code Circles" to upgrade the A.I.'s "Body". They are a very friendly people that feel they have an obligation to improve the country online.

The circuit board here is the homes and brains of the A.I. citizens. The rectangle is the thing connecting the A.I. to the whole world. The thought balloon hints at the famous quote "I think, therefore I am." by René Descartes.

Sunflower Piranha:

The plants often make detailed root patterns from dead root (feet) and sell them for profit. Others will make compost from the roots and make their own flower and vegetable gardens. Though the plants make the gardens to attract bugs so they can eat them and have a reliable source of food. They are a humble people that tend to themselves and can rarely be seen in public.

The green represents the grass the plants came from, with the background also meaning life. The sun is the life blood of the Sunflower Piranha for the sight they have and as a extra food source. The Venus Flytraps represent their origins as ordinary flytaps.

City Ants:

A race of sentiant/sapient ants that wanna be left alone. They can be found in the forests carving a life out for themselves on the dirt floor. They live like any society in Talitoa, but are very militaristic since barbarian bugs constantly attack their homes. City Ants are a partial hive mind when danger is afoot, but become individualistic when a threat is gone.

The brown is the dirt that all of the ants come from and die on. The ant with the crown is the leader, saying the leaders are the ants best assets. The ants behind the leader symbolize the togetherness and teamwork of the ants.

Martian:

They feel terrible for what they did under Jar Jar, but try to make it up by growing plants from their homeworld in special greenhouses for people to see. Martians also enter astronomy and anything under the sun that involves space because of past knowledge and curiosity. But most Martians went into farming for thier new found interest in Talitoa's plant life and weird food.

The black is space, the red ball is the old homeland of the martians, and the blue is Talitoa and the earth they crashed on during the Second Jar-Jar War.

Neko:

A race of part mammal/ part human people. They are a people that love to party and can get into trouble. They do apoligize and try to clean up their messes after. They use the most drugs out of all the people of Talitoa and take up many office jobs at the same time. On work days Neko's tend to be more reserved, until they leave work.

The yellow, brown, and black are the main colors of the small patches of fur on the Nekos. The paw print symbolizes the animal ancestry.

Kekistani

The race hates it's past and has gained trust with the Talitoan population. The old empire they came from has disowned them as the Kekistanis here try to find ways to save their brethren. Their meme pets are not deadly, not only a source of companionship, but as a source of laughter. Kekistanis love their jokes and are masters at joke telling.

The green is the old Kekistan homeland and the skin of Kekistanis. The white sun is a pacifist new dawn for the people of Kekistan and for the fight against the ultra-conservative Kekistan. The small green outline means the hopeful future containment of Kekistan's current feelings. The text is "memes are those of love and of life."

I genuinely don't like them (they seem unpredictable)

I've always seen the anti-furry movement as a gateway into literal fascism. I nearly got sucked into that rabbit hole at one point through a really tiny discord anti-furry raiding group called NFM; lucky me, i woke up and got the hell out of there while I still could.

Yeah, that's a weird thing to have a movement around. Good on you.

I mean, I can't judge them all as individuals. But I'll maintain there's a time and place for everything.

Free Orion?

Talitoa wrote:Free Orion?

It's a free to download space game. It has a variety of different species with extreme modifiers depending on what they are. I recommend you get it if only to read the descriptions in the orionpedia.

Just gonna point out, apropos of nothing, that "girls mature faster than boys" is an exaggeration (and massive oversimplification) of a very slight neurological difference.

Also, that girls are socialized differently from boys (prioritizing skills like "think about how you're coming across to others, be diplomatic, manage people's emotions, be quiet, sit still") -- and that can translate to them fidgeting less, looking less stressed / angry / bored . . . but they're still having those feelings. Just not given so much freedom to express them (at least not at the expense of other folks' convenience). This is a major contributor to how girls' learning disabilities (and health issues in general) are underdiagnosed -- but from the outside, it looks like maturity and calm.

"Look like you're paying attention" can be a valuable skill in schools. It can make the teachers like you a little better, or attribute more cleverness to you because quietness looks like deep thought from the outside. Favourable assumptions from school staff can grease the academic wheels a bit.

But here's the catch: all that difficulty (including undiagnosed disabilities) is still happening -- and the "smart, thoughtful kid" assumption adds more pressure to a system that's already struggling to keep up. All that stress and anger and boredom is still happening. It just builds and builds and builds on the inside until something (usually also on the inside) snaps.

There are many reasons why women take more SSRIs and anxiety meds than men. Being "more mature" (on the outside, by necessity) from an early age . . . is one of 'em.

Same. Every single one I have ever met genuinely seems like a terrible person, both online and offline.

Imagine an anti-furry LARPer trying to explain to a real war veteran why their efforts to raid a random niche community on the internet is as valiant as their service in Afghanistan lol

Oh. I'mma be real, you're absolutely right on that as well. Some of them are the kindest people this world has ever seen, and others... some of them just really want to make me put a bullet through the base of my chin...

Ah, I see. I just remembered reading an article a while back which suggested that men should be held back a year before kindergarten due to developmental concerns. Or, at least, provide some complex standard for seeing if young boys were 'ready'.

I find it funny that they somehow managed to politicise furries, and by they i mean the litteral 13 year olds who have "entered politics". Like my guy its an internet niche not a new radical societal movment.

Yeah, I agree with you. There are really two sides to furries. There are some who are completely pleasant and I’m sure I’d be able to have hour long talks with them, but I just… haven’t seen a lot of that. Maybe that’s because TikToks with kindhearted furries don’t get likes.

How the hell wearing a dog head makes you the equivalent of an ethnic minority that should be killed has never made any sense to me at all.

Really, its been the status of fandom ever since fandom came into existence. Even the best fandoms can have a undercurrent full of terrible people. The earliest fandom was for Sherlock Holmes apparently when it came out in the late 1800's.

Love Peace and Friendship wrote:Ah, I see. I just remembered reading an article a while back which suggested that men should be held back a year before kindergarten due to developmental concerns. Or, at least, provide some complex standard for seeing if young boys were 'ready'.

Mm. Yeah.

The issue I always have with that kind of suggestion (including all the books and teaching strategies out there about "addressing boys' needs," often for interactive lessons and more physical activity) is: those aren't boys' needs, those are human children's needs, full stop. "Do they act out" is a super flawed way of measuring "are they okay."

Talitoa wrote:Really, its been the status of fandom ever since fandom came into existence. Even the best fandoms can have a undercurrent full of terrible people. The earliest fandom was for Sherlock Holmes apparently when it came out in the late 1800's.

Every fandom has a few bad actors of their own. For some, it is more prevalent, and in others, it is not. It will always be a problem for as long as humanity will exist, but it should and will never be a valid reason to hate on an entire group of people.
