But it allows for a clean basis on a nations abilities. Now, I'm seeing newly formed nations having the power Elm had back in the day, and it's just plain dumb tbh. The only reason why it was removed is so new people could have a chance against more experienced and older nations, but we have a solution for that, it's called don't be a jerk and don't attack people who were formed literally 1 minute ago.

Yes, but we DO have a rule that heavily restricts nuclear weapons and Elem's powers, and as Felter said, according to NS stats, she would be a defenseless country, while in canon, she has an army sized enough to protect her nation.
Would you imagine nations with higher stats of DF just picking on nations with low stats of DF just to win wars? That is completely outrageous and ruins the fun.

I am, personally, a character-driven RPer. What this means is that I place less value on my nation than I do the people within it. The nation itself is important, but Tenkyoku is so weird and crazy that NS stats can’t really reflect it well. It’s got a small but fanatical population, a few supernatural elements, and so on. Now, I don’t answer issues much. The reason is partially laziness, partially unpredictability. I don’t even know what my NS stats are. My NS population is too big for the nation really, considering the lore of it, for example. But I do definitely want to avoid trying to use this be OP. Power isn’t really my goal. I just like writing stuff.
Now, NS stats do provide an objective basis. Though how much does it matter? Let’s use DF as an example. If my DF is higher, do I automatically win any war against you? No. At most it’d be part of a calculation that tells me how many forces I can have maximum. So there’s still going to be arguments over the actions taken over the course of the war, most likely. While I understand why they can be important, I also note that they don’t always resolve this sort of issue reliably. All that said, once again, I’m biased.
