Thats basically the weather in Toronto and southern Ontario. (I find March the worst)

Love and Nature wrote:Winter is nice, for walking. Riding a bicycle below -15 - -20 celsius is already kinda hard (just did that and got that blood taste in my mouth = sh1tty condition and not enough sleep) but below -20 °C bike is kinda sluggish because grease and oil tend to get stiff in those temperatures and when it's -30 °C you prefer not to ride a your bike at all. After winter (0-30 °C) cycling feels so easy and nice, fast! But living in a city, so I ride all year around. Free, ecofriendly, burning my fat and getting exercise = so some you win some you lose.

This makes me wonder if snow cyclists (bicyclists who ride bikes with super-wide tires straight through snow) have any special tricks. I have only ridden through snow once and it was barely below freezing. But I suppose you are getting more exercise if you have to deal with stiff lubricants, so good for you!

Winter is nice, and is better when I'm home in the second coldest city in the Lower 48 (the 1st is about 100 miles North) :P

I use normal wide tires and I'm not using any studded tires either. You might slip sometimes but not too often. But yeah, some people ride those fatbikes and you can ride over hard snow in the mid or late winter as the snow gets hard (snowdrift?). I guess they are easier to ride in the winter time because there is more friction. Roads here in Finland are usually well plowed for cars and also for walkers and bikers (pun intended) in cities and where there are bigger centers of population. But of course when it's snowing hard it can be pretty annoying to try to ride your bike or in the worst case you need to walk your bike a looooong way back to home. Obviously I'm not taking my bike with me when I can see that it's going to be too hard or impossible to ride it.

But after winter summer really feels like summer. I like all 4 seasons of the year in my own way. They are all different and make you feel a bit different mentally also - Vibes and feelings.

You a Mainer, Jutsa? I've got a fair amount of extended family up in northern Aroostook County. My father told me many times about the storms where they'd basically leave the house via the attic window to avoid the dangers of digging out the doors.

Winter is good.
Summer is too hot.
Autumn is too windy.
Spring is rainy.
Thus, we should enforce an eternal winter.

There are seasons other than Winter and Road Construction?

Naeh, I don't have that much snow. Being coastal really helps.

Winter is too snowy.

We need a fifth season.

Preferably sunny and dry and 23 degrees Celsius during the day, and rainy in the evening. Geo-engineers, are you taking notes?

What is 23 degrees Celsius covered over to the proper temperature units?

I’m sorry, the correct answer we were looking for was 73 degrees Fahrenheit! I don’t make the rules; I just enforce them. :)

What is this 'Celsius' you speak of?

A Roman general. Celsius Maximus. He was the first person in history to ever measure the temperature of water. He decreed that the freezing point of pure water at sea level should be 0 degrees Celsius and the boiling point should be 100 degrees Celsius. The rest is history.

The whole concept of "maximum temperatures" is named after him, too.

To add weight to this "goofing off", you might like to sit back and enjoy this:

I just asked Nagatar karumuttu chettiar if there is a plan to follow up the repeal proposal with anything. The answer is:

"Yes, actually!

I am drafting it with I.A., and he is to be the one to submit it.

A right-past-wrongs type of thing!

I would say we are on pretty good terms."

Accordingly, I have decided to support it.

Forgot to put the rest of the quotes so now I look like an idiot. Sorry Sacara, it was not solely pointed at you.
