But even then, we manage to speak to one another, she thinks to herself. This brings her some joy - the ability to reason with somebody, no matter how distant they stand ideologically. Communication is a first step, not towards a "socialist infection", in her view - but towards something better.

"Well, we shall see what goes on. I, for one, believe our nation is headed in the right direction...but there will always be disagreements on what the best route to take is. But I assume the main goal - yours, and mine - is to ensure the well-being of your people in a developed nation..." She immediately segues into answering his second round of remarks. "...which means what goes on outside your country understandably does not matter as much, and thus does not require your attention. Funny you speak of PMF, actually - as our nation is currently taking efforts to hold peace talks in Ciscannia to solve the ongoing conflict...war is the true disease. To some, it is far easier to fire a bullet than to give a handshake..." Frota eyes Erwin, seeing if she captures a reaction. "But I must agree, it is an odd timing for the PMF to appear here. I would say they might be attempting to leave the impression everything is normal at their homeland."

Erwin took a breath, keeping calm. Such a conversation he thought was bound to happen. After all, nobody ever took criticism of their ideology laying down. This was something he surely had to expect. He wished his wife were here. She was called The Voice of The Empire for a reason. Momo was a much more friendly, and much prettier, face than her militant husband. Erwin took a few labored steps with his cane, trying to keep his legs awake, his medals clinking and swaying on his chest. Knowing that his last slew of remarks landed on the Ciscannian with poor favour, he made sure to choose his next words in a more precise manner.

"Well, It is worth noting that its mere opinion whether your nation is going in the right or wrong direction. I'm not stupid or hubristic enough to pretend that my opinion is in the majority. Or for that matter, even that popular. I mean look around, Im surrounded by leftism and more liberal minded governments. In fact i dare-say that I am the only center to center right person here. I'm pleased that you exude such confidence in your country's current direction. I hardly expect you to care or have an opinion on how my Empire is run, because like you said earlier, its hard to be invested emotionally or politically about the goings-on of a nation that isnt your own. I mean, despite being on the same continent your nation and mine are miles apart, and our respective policies have little, if any, impact on each other."

Erwin listened to the tail-end of the Ciscannian's remarks, noting her curiosity for a reaction from Erwin. "As asinine as this might sound, I can both fire a bullet and give handshakes. I wasn't given this medal for sitting around during the various Wars of Expansion." He held up his Scherzo Iron Cross (https://i.imgur.com/UWgP9ff.jpg) emblazoned in gold. "I've been serving my country faithfully since I joined the Scherzo Marines at age 17. Unfortunately, I seem to be more famous for my valor in combat than my policy as Emperor. I truly think I've been a better Emperor than soldier." Erwin remarked. He cleared his throat, realizing that the remarks may come off as showboating, when in reality he was attempting more idle conversation. "I suppose i tell you all of this because I agree. It is easier to fire the bullet. However, it also seems that its more popular to fire the bullet than it is to shake hands. It really depends on the people. My people, who have military in their blood, who all share at least one ancestor that fought in the various Dawagh conflicts, or the Great Struggle even; those people are more impressed by our military accomplishments. Other nations, perhaps yours may fall into this category, who pride themselves on their diplomatic prowess, are more impressed by diplomacy. I suppose it depends on the people you serve."

Erwin let a slight smirk from his face, having some fun finding agreeable remarks with his ideological opposite. "I must say, they arent doing a great job at it. I am unsure how the information sector works in your country, but I cant for the life of me think that any nation here is completely ignorant to the PMF's domestic and international affairs. My people know about it, I'm sure yours do, I dont see how anyone here could possibly be ignorant of the facts."

"To get back to perhaps some more light-hearted topics, you can consider yourself, and whomever you decide should come along, to visit the Empire. See any sights you think might interest you. If youre an environmental type, you might enjoy the Gapra Whitewood. Mainly though, I'll extend to you an invitation to attend the Scherzo National Cup Championship game. If you're interested in my darling wife like you are, you'll find her to be an absolute joy at public events." Erwin stated.
