The State Council meets over the course of a few weeks and decides that risking war with San Sierra, one of its closer allies, isn’t worth it. They also decide to get whatever they can out of the situation and prevent it from getting out of control.
In response to the rebellion in the Auth vassal, the 450,000 strong Garrison moves to occupy all major regions outside of Muvsad. At first this seems like it is ostensibly just to prevent the devils from seizing the entire island, but it is also done in the name of another purpose:
The State Council has formally, but quietly decided that the Auth vassal is to be fully integrated into Greater Levantin.
The force on the island has begun to occupy major cities and declare martial law for this purpose.
