Communists, Socialists, Leftists SWEEP the elections (January 31st)
The Communist candidate for the 2020 Malgan general election has WON! President Zaavagos Kgut and his Communist Party of Malgax has won a stunning victory along with their allies in the Socialist Party and new wave Tech-Ultra's. The leftist coalition has secured a strong majority in the Malgan Parliament as well as in numerous Provincial governments. The Malgan Left has won a great victory today, and already the gears of Parliament are at work, ready to secure the future for the Malgan worker- and no one else.

New Tax Code Announced (February 15th)
As a first act of the new leftist dominated Parliament, a new tax code has been set into law. The new "2021 Malgan National Tax Code" sees a heavy increase on non-cooperative corporations to the point of almost absurdity, while drastically reducing taxes on worker-owned operations. More interestingly was the heavy increase in taxes on rent revenue for landlords and other renting corporations, taxing the proceeds at over 95% while capping rent at 10% of the monthly income of a worker living on minimum wage. When accused of anti-landlordism the president stated, "Yes, that is the point. We would not be communists if we were pro-landlord." Numerous other tax policies have been enacted; Cutting all funding to religious institutions, revitalizing the tax on religious institutions, cutting the navel budget, cutting the airport maintenance budget, cutting the road maintenance budget, quintupling the railroad budget, with further allocations for provincial budgets in relations to rail infrastructure. Further investments into public education, cutting all funding for religious and private schooling, heavy investment in working-class and poor neighborhoods, tax increases on on the top 20% of earners with the higher rates reaching 80%, a small increase in the cooperate tax rate to a solid 90% Along with numerous other policies and rates changes.

Anti-Discrimination Bill Passed (February 27th)
A bill has been passed with an overwhelming majority in the Malgan parliament detailing a ban on refusing service to transgender costumers on religious or cultural basis. Accusations of anti-religious freedom were dismissed by the government.

Announcement of the Trans-Malgan Rail Revitalization and Expansion Project [TMRREP] (March 19th)
Following the February 15th budget plan a new infrastructure project has been announced by the Malgan Ministry of the Interior detailing the expansion of the Trans-Malgan rail to all provinces in the nation, with the goal of supplanting the majority of the road networks within the nation as well as further integrating the nation into a singular economic unit. The extensive bill also listed provisions for the expansion of connected industries such as rail car production, steel works, energy, and more. The project is expected to create over a million permanent jobs by completion.
