A Pirate's Life For Me
Asmodeus, Capital of the Broken Coast

Long had the Brotherhood of the Broken Coast been a symbol for freedom, for a society of free and equal men that would stand together against the tyranny from the likes of kings or emperors. Orignially, the islands of the Coast had been strong industrial hubs that the Grey Empire used to create new tools, both for peace and war. This also made it vital to control during the Coast's liberation efforts. These efforts were led by men of all caliber. Some were natives to local area, while others flocked to the Coast's cause of creating a haven for those who wished to live free and without judgement from crown or church. Alas, no well-working civilization could exist without some form of constitution. One of the leading privateers thus suggested the creation of an article of agreement, of which would consitute the code of conduct and act as a guiding constitution for the Brotherhood of the Coast.

This led to a more unified movement which ultimately gained their freedom from the Grey Empire, and as such siezed the sea-side port town of Asmodeus and proclaimed it to become the capital. And while the economy could considered great, agriculture would prove to be an unsolvable problem due to the harsh weather of the eastern continent. The only way to solve this, the pirates figuered, would be to raid the convoys of other nearby nations, to seize food for the Coast.

As the sunshine rose over the pirate city, Pirate Lord Edward Silverstry awoke from his sleep. His eyes gazed across the grand room of the previous governor that resided of the Asmodeus before the Broken Coast had seized it. Groaning from a hangover he had gained the night before, he slowly sat up and dressed himself in the common clothes of a privateer. Noticing a bottle of rum on his bed-side table, he grabbed it and brought it up to his mouth, only to be disappointed to only gain a few drops of the drink. Grunting in slight frustration, he put the bottle down before sighing.

"Why is the rum always gone?", he said as he slowly made his way to a grand window that could be opened up to a balcony.

The sight that met him was the various buildings of brick and wood and other materials. It would most likely be considered a shanty-town by the other 'civilized' nations, but to him and the other buccaneers, it was home. Lights were in the proccess of being turned on, and in the distance, the grand port of Asmodeus could be seen waking to life as fishing vessels and larger, armed sail ships pulled out and into the harbor, most likely to attempt a raid on some merchants. Further out to sea, he could spot the small dot that was the first flying battleship of the Broken Coast, The Black Panther. It's lumbering and slow form might not be the best for raiding convoy lanes, but for the defense of a city or the seiging of one, she would do fine.

The Pirate Lord's gazing across the horizon was interrupted by a knock at his bedroom door. Shouting a lazy "Come in!", Edward heard the steps of another man approaching.

"Capt'n Silverstry, the Pirate Lords of Gulabria and Croscaunt have arrived to discuss our plans.", the voice of the man said.

Silverstry nodded shortly before turning his head towards him. "Send them in, if ye would."

The other pirate nodded and quickly left, leaving Silverstry alone with his thoughts.

"This is going to be a long day.."
