PM Bird loses seat, Deputy Liberal Leader Wilbur Williams to be PM
A subdued Federal Election was held on Saturday. Kelvin Bird hoped that an election after an economically productive quarter would deliver the ruling coalition a decisive mandate. Yet, the election proved no real change, with the amount of seats unchanged despite some labor seats changing hands. The election blowed a death kneel to Mr Bird, with him and DPM Runner losing their seats by incredibly tight margins.
Deputy Leader Wilbur Williams was promoted to leader after an expected leadership spill. This electoral term will be William’s second term. The Governor General has invited Williams to form a Government.
