I seem to recall reading something on the News page about changes to the game calculations recently (although 'recently' for me in this game can often turn out to be 2 - 3 years).
Sad news today: We have received a bulletin that Blackbird ceased to exist.
Damn. Just yesterday I was ruing shooting down the proposal to the admins years ago to make Blackbird the founder.
I'm inclined to think he's probably just forgot to log-in for a while. If he was quitting the game after this long I'd think he would have announced it.
Even after Blackbird CTEd the other day, we still have an enormous amount of stockpiled influence:

Bah, missed Z-Day again. Well, if anyone wanted to know how inactive I am on this game after nearly 14 years: 18 days late is pretty damning.

Minyos is 10 years old this month I realised. God help me, I got my "Apocalypse Looms" email - I have a fix now for the Outlook app on iPhone. Made a rule that all the noreply@nationstates.net (the about to CTE emails) go to Focused not Other so I shouldn't miss one again from now on.

Yeah, I got an Apocalypse Looms e-mail and that's what made me log-in, despite the fact I could have sworn it hadn't been 30 days (or whatever it is) since last being active. You get into a routine and time just flies.

Since I have trouble remembering it and don't log in very often, I've made the regional password visible to residents.
Dude. If you remember the two invasions, I’d be just y’know putting the password in Notes (if you have an iPhone)...sorry but it’s not sensible leaving it up. We went through a lot of crap, especially that Poe thing. Expanding file, computer, Notes (or Android version thereof)...but not visible to even us.

Personally, I've been wondering if we shouldn't just throw the doors open and let our influence stockpile speak for itself if we get targeted again, but it would be a nuisance if we were occupied again, and some of our more recent restorees could conceivably get ejected by an invader delegate.
I'm torn between the two options as well. It would be nice to throw the doors open and remove barriers to entry for new players to come here, but then is there much to attract them? Same with the sister regions ASE and ACA - we're all almost 15 years older than when we started playing the game and it's been about a decade since we really played it.
Regards the password being visible; there's only six of us here. Half of us would have to be extremely long sleeper agents to bring about another invasion.

Influence. When was it? 2009? My influence is **** regardless. I think both times I got booted and nobody else.
Look, this game is dumb now (I mean somehow I am in the top 1% of zombified nations yet I haven’t had a zombie attack just as a passing triviality; example) and we know it - we’re all here for a past.
We ARE cohesive, and loyal. We have little to offer but frankly - I only logged on before I got the email. If anyone wants to go on recruitment blah blah etc. well, put your hand up...mine isn’t. I don’t think any of us want to put any or much effort in.
Not being a bitch but hell, this isn’t even a political region except we are lefties as people. I have posted politically aaaand...well. No-one cared.
I’m not unhappy with that though, as such.
Comrades, I like the peace and quiet, and I personally am not going anywhere. We are trusting eachother not to CTE or if so...we’ll be back shortly.
