Yea it shows which is good, I like the suppression system now because showing suppressed post puts accountability into place.

We no longer need to have the mods get rid of the spammer posts all that needs to be done is Afforess and future delegates can suppress them(We still can look at the spam(who would though)) and watch them wash off. Makes posting on the RMB for some reason more fun.

Vietnam empire

I never expected Max Berry would use a certain example out of this region. Check the news column if you don't know what I am saying.

Jade confederacy

yea, we saw

Vietnam empire

Hmm, guess I am a bit late on it. Meh

Vietnam Empire, the example is in the WFE now too! I believe he picked examples from nations that are -- 1 sided, to put it politely. The other 2 nations are both pretty harsh dictatorships. The top one has a TON of badges, and the next one is a really old (16 bill pop) brutal dictatorship. Mine is the newest nation there (a mere 1.5 years old), but I'm the perfect example of someone who would rally against socialism. And I'm in a position of power. Makes for funnier screenshots.

Oh, and I'd like to announce that for the remainder of my tenure, there will be no suppressed RMB posts. Even spammers deserve a voice, even if it's abruptly silenced by a mod.

Yes, he wanted to show that even the most free of minds can be corruptible into thinking socialism is a good thing

Wow, ONE civil liberty point up and I'm an anarchy wth

Join the anarchists, Sucrati! We have white fudge-covered Oreos. And also true liberty.

Apparently, I also am an anarchist. Who knew :P On another note, congrats to Afforess for making it to the news page. You probably didn't say it, but it means that team Max considers us a major power.

If people want socialism (i.e. collective control, whether by "ownership" or other means, of the means of production, distribution and exchange) they can have it - right now.

They can even have communism - i.e. full material equality.

All they have to do is go and form a collectivist community somewhere (religious or nonreligous) no "capitalist" is going to stop them, and have there have been many such communities (both religious and secular) in the history of the United States and other nations (for example at their peak about 5% of the Jewish population of Israel were members of one form or other of collectivist community - although such places tended to move away from such things as collective control of property and communal child care, over time, but some full collectivsts places still exist in Israel and other lands).

The trouble is that the collectivists wish to IMPOSE their ideas on other people - they are not interested in little VOLUNTARY collectivist places, such as the Owenite community that used to exist near Dallas.

Not only does socialism not work on this grand scale (such ideas de facto assume face to face communal life - not a great society of many millions of people), but it is also EVIL to impose these ideas and to try and ban "capitalistic acts between consenting adults".

Reardenland and Dharmanagara

Can't agree with you more, Reed Audio. And I like the "capitalistic acts between consenting adults" thing--a fellow fan of Walter Block, I take it?

Reardenland

He actually sounds like a Right Wing Radio/Television Pundit, :)

Greetings all..

Reed Audio doesn't sound much like right wing pundits - this is what right wing pundits..discuss (for lack of a better word): http://www.rushlimbaugh.com

Rush Limbaugh's an idiot, sorry for those that listen to him and obey every word.

Repulican spirit

hello friends.

Welcome.

Rush is eccentric, Glenn Beck is over eccentric, everyone has issues with those who oppose their view points.

This time line marks Afforess's first 100 days as CP's WA delegate, when he took office on 11/24/10 CP had 370 some nations. No nations banned, no attempted coups, no raids that I know of. Doing better than Quebec's first 100. Only lost 40 nations, still we have 4 days to go so these number may change.

Have room for another?

What does every one think about my new recruiting message (snagged one with it!)

On behalf of everyone at Capitalist Paradise, I welcome you to Nation States. This is one of the many "ads" welcoming you to NS, however unlike other regions everyone at Capitalist Paradise is more welcoming and is willing to help you with each of your questions about the game. Just as our motto says:
"From Liberty, Prosperity
From Prosperity, Freedom"
We pride ourselves of the amount of freedom Capitalist Paradise has, we welcome all nations of all ideologies, whether you're communist, socialist a dictatorship you'd be welcome with open arms.

~West guiana~

Hm. I'd avoid RMB recruiting, almost all regions have banned it, even most of the pacifics. There is an official TG recruitment message, from the forums, but you're free to spice it up in whatever way you see fit.

Welcome to NationStates!

Looking for the percect region to join as a new nation can be hard, and you will doubtless receive many telegrams advertising different regions. I’ll let you make your own decisions, but I’d like to inform you about one region in particular. The ""Capitalist Paradise"" is full of experienced nations that have been playing since the creation of NationStates, so it’s a perfect place to learn about the game.

The Capitalist Paradise welcomes nations of all WA Categories, so don't worry about where your nation stands. In fact, we welcome all ideologies to our frequent debates. Our forum is located at http://z7.invisionfree.invalid.com/ParadiseofCapitalism/index.php, so sign up there to get access to our discussions!

Our region prides itself on the freedom given its members. Unlike some other regions, nothing is mandatory, and there are no restrictions. For example, you are not forced to endorse the delegate, nor is there a limit on how many endorsements you may receive, and you don't have to join the WA at all. You're free make suggestions, vote, and run for office!

Feel free to contact me with any questions about "Capitalist Paradise" or the game!

The first and last sentences read quite awkwardly.

I'm glad we got the ol' light hearted touch running in. Congratulations, Afforess.

And welcome to all the newcomers!
