Record of Failed Embassy Constructions - Our Perspective

For the interest of transparency, here will be recorded the MCP's side in each event of a failed embassy construction. Where a response was given, if this is done in public, it will be reproduced here, if it was given by telegram, the incoming telegram in question will be anonymised so as to protect the sender's privacy. We officially maintain goodwill towards any region that has rejected us, and if we made the offer in the first place, will be likely to still accept an embassy should the leadership change their mind.

Even for regions that proposed embassies which we have rejected, we are not utterly opposed to contact from these regions, and are open to being convinced if we have made a misjudgement.

Failed embassies logged here shall be ordered according to the date we proposed them, not the date that they were rejected. If it was us who rejected an embassy, these shall be ordered by the day the proponents offered the embassy exchange, not by the day we rejected it. We will always publish a reason in this document should we feel it necessary to reject any offer of embassy interchange and we expect this to be rare for we do not ask for a uniformity of opinion with regions we enter embassy relations with, just that they come at it from good faith, have mutual respect for one another's stated positions, and do not attempt to undermine or overthrow these as being the regional views whilst guest on the other's platform. That's our standard.

As far as we are concerned when our side of the proceedings have been entered here, it is a done matter and we determine all possible useful communication to be complete on our behalf. As much as possible then, after an experience is recorded here we shall try to leave it behind and discuss it no further unless the other party wishes to engage again. Their inclusion in this document hereby communicates to members of The Maoist Communist Party the cessation of all relations with the region in question, and as a directive for our members to leave the members of the other region alone (except for where they may have prior existing friendships), but to not pursue ties any further.

Region: North Korea

Any Additional Consequences: Banning of The United Kindom under Socialist Rule from the region. (Not that it affects me as I am not planning on moving anywhere!)

Rationale Behind Actions and Comments: We had requested embassy exchange due to the MCP's unwavering support for the real life DPRK and a number of our members' involvements with KFAUSA. Observing the NS region is tagged with LGBT, we can only imagine that such action as was taken was due to our stated positions on those issues, which is a pity, for even if we have a different opinion, ours is obviously compatible with support for the DPRK also, seeming as it is closer to its policies and the sensibilities of the Korean people. Whilst it may be possible for foreigners who differ with Korea to still of course be friendly, it seems ridiculous that anyone should be penalised for sharing the country's views.

Any Additional Consequences: A coldy worded telegram was received informing us of the decision. TCB have requested we do not contact them again, and of course we will respect this wish.

Rationale Behind Actions and Comments: The United Kindom under Socialist Rule, along with numerous others in our region, had been resident in TCB for many years and have many fond memories of time spent there. Although we have a number of differences of opinion now which we freely express in our region in ways we presume would be impermissible in TCB (we always respected their rules with regards to RMB posting, etc. when there of course), we wondered if we would be able to perhaps put this aside in a show of maturity and common humanity regardless, and on our part pay homage to and give gratitude to the region where our community sprung up, in large part. Unfortunately TCB leadership did not feel the same way, which to be honest we were half expecting, but regardless it was a shame things had to end on quite such a bitter note. Nonetheless we always maintain goodwill towards this region and many of us have connections in it, so remain open to embassy interchange should the leadership have a change of heart. For the indefinite future we ask our members not to bother TCB leadership as per their request but permit them maintaining personal contacts with friends in the region.

Region: Right to Life

Any Additional Consequences: The region was kind enough to publicly provide their reasoning for rejecting embassy exchange. They posted it to their RMB here.
Rationale Behind Actions and Comments: Embassy ties were pursued because of our region's stances against abortion and malthusianism, and our pro-natalist outlook. Unfortunately it seems relations have been impaired by differing geopolitical outlooks, with the RMB post citing alleged war crimes, human rights abuses, etc. Naturally, if we believed these stories about Uyghur genocide and Russian war crimes were true we wouldn't support them. We also do not believe Ukraine with its present borders to be a sovereign country. It's not like we believe Russia and China are doing such crimes, and support them because we are evil or something, we don't support these reported actions at all, which is why we defend these nations from these accusations - we simply do not believe them to be occurring. I hope the region can at least understand from this that we subjectively do not hold anti-life positions or have a callous disregard for the value of human life, even if they believe us to be objectively incorrect. Of course we also believe ourselves to be objectively correct, which is a matter we are happy to discuss if the leadership were to have a change of heart and open up communications. We also kindly remind the leadership that in Russia, abortion is prohibited after 12 weeks, with a view of halving them by 2025 and China is restricting the number of abortions performed for “non-medical purposes”. We would assert more hardline policies, but these are better than many places. We remain hopeful for further communications and believe some potential may still exist here, but will leave the ball in their court and let matters be on our part.
