Warfare Briefly

While NationStates simulates leading a nation of your own creation through various means and mechanics, it does not specifically have a mechanic built in to declare war on individual nations or players. Many will stop here and walk away. However, creative and ambitious individuals have found a different way to simulate grand battles and mounting offenses in NationStates. With how NationStates operates, it is the larger domains, regions, which act more like countries, while each nation like your own is more akin to an individual or autonomous region of this larger domain. Many have governments and with them, a military branch. While some maintain militaries only for defense, some choose to be bolder and be the ones to take the initiative and attack in order to take control of another region. These individuals are known as Raiders, and are part of a larger "invasion game" known as Raiding and Defending, or R/D for short.

The basic concept is as follows: in NationStates, supreme executive power over a region is wielded by a Governor, who is usually either the region's founder or someone whom the governorship was handed to by that founder through succession. However, in some cases, such as Game Created Regions (GCRs) or Frontiers, a region is "governorless". In these regions, the power is therefore held by the World Assembly Delegate. Each player is able to have one nation be a member in the World Assembly (WA), and nations that are members of the WA in a given region are able to vote for a regional delegate by endorsing a nation. This then permits outside forces, if they posses more endorsements then the native government, to seize control of a region and do as they please with it. R/D is a extremely dynamic field, with constantly evolving tactics and technology, of which this overview only scratches the surface.

The Sparkling Army & Its Mission

The Sparkling Army is the military of the High Queendom. The unit is employed to fight for Sparkalia's security interests & beliefs. In more specific terms, it is the organization within Sparkalia that the High Queen may call upon to conduct Raiding Operations for territorial expansion, and to provide support to her ideological allies in both offense and security. It is organized into three different units: the Chaos Brigade, the Entropy Brigade and the Hex Brigade. Its primary goal is to secure as much control of NationStates for the High Queendom and its allies as possible. Additionally, it may also be deployed to help allied regions and territories remain secure against looming threats.

The Chaos Brigade

The Sparkling Army's Chaos Brigade is one part of the active force that is prepared to jump when the opportunities to do so arise. It primarily engages in rapid raiding missions which hit multiple regions in a single night, known as "tagging". Her Highness depends upon the Chaos Brigade to spread chaos and release the great violet to more regions.

The Entropy Brigade

The Sparkling Army's Entropy Brigade is the other part of the active force that is prepared to jump where necessary when a larger numerical force is required to secure a particular region. Her Highness depends upon the Entropy Brigade to carry out missions to spread the great violet to more regions in a more specific and targeted way, as aligns with interests of the High Queendom.

The Hex Brigade

The Sparkling Army's Hex Brigade is one that is held in reserve to provide support to both allies and regions seized by the active forces. While they may not opperate on the front lines of battle, the brigade must still be ready to deploy swiftly when ordered, as time can be of the essence in many of the scenarios requiring Hex deployment.

The Trinity Command

The Trinity Command, comprised of the three leaders of the three brigades, are the leading officers of the Sparkling Army. In conjunction with the aims and guidance of the High Queen, they lead the Sparkling Army. They share responsibilities while also focusing on their own tasks to ensure the success of the mighty Sparkling Army.

The Officer Corps

---

The Officer Corps consists of those with great experience and skill in the army trusted to work directly under Trinity Command. They aid Trinity Command in the execution of their duties, helping them plan and organize and even taking lead themselves on behalf of Sparkalia when required.
